  1. This is driving me INSANE, Mahnatton mission, near any village I get CONSTANT radio chatter in Russian... NON STOP!! news cast, over and over and over... Its driving me crazy...

On top of this, the dumb support helicopter is stuck in the sky and not moving, what on earth? This game has WAAAAAYYYYY too many bugs.

Also how are you supposed to tell your guys which coordinate you are at, or for instance if they tell you there is a man @ this or that coordinate how can I tell where that is? Im confused.

  2. I have on onboard card (Realtek HD or something) and I sometimes get the crackling and popping noise. For some reason it only happens in multiplayer.

Same, only in multiplayer... I'm wondering if it really has something to do with shared IRQ between sound/video and ethernet.

I'm on an Asus Xonar d2x card now, not creative... I just got it a few days ago, same issue.

  3. I'm at a loss... especially online and in some situations in single player, depending on where Im looking sometimes the game will simply drop to a CRAWL!!! like 1-5fps and the sound will crackle like crazy...

I have tried switching my X-Fi to a different slot with no luck. I'm also running a GTX295... It's driving me insane, nothing seems to help, and I have the latest drivers. This only seems to happen in Arma2....

  4. What is wrong with the AI units in my group?? I tell them to mount vehicle and one or two will go running off somewhere. Or we receive contact and my squad goes off somewhere and they get lost?! What is up with the AI?? Has anyone heard of them fixing this in the next patch??

This annoys me to no ends in single player...

  5. For those who want to know: The new drivers dont solve the 8 GB RAM issue.

For me, they even pressed down the localVRAM and nonlocalVRAm to a new minimum: 2 MB (~2 million bytes, a string of seven digits)!

I guess the "old" known workarounds still work, though.

These drivers are much faster for me than 182.5's... Although they have an issue with 8gigs, by using -winxp and making the config file read only, I was able to fix the problem. I did experience some texturing corruption after a long while of playing and it crashed to desktop though.... so hard to tell if its worth it yet.

  6. I have tried pretty much everything, disabling SLI makes my fps slower.

I did do something which seems to have given me 5-10 extra FPS. I turned OFF AA, and went up by one resolution from 1920x , also went to "LOW" for post processing effects,, that way it doesnt look aliased.

Another user posted a nice link

    http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,687620/ArmA-2-tested-Benchmarks-with-18-CPUs/Practice/

It's a benchmark done with many different CPU's and shows that Arma 2 requires more CPU power than GPU power (sorry to those who bought the latest super graphics card)

That said, get your CPU up to clock and you can start worrying about the GPU again.

Q9550 Quad core @ 3.4ghz, seems like an Up to clock cpu, wouldn't you say? lol
