Okay I'm totally confused, I just re-installed the game re-downloaded the content... and still the sun glass models are missing textures!?!? When I go to player profile and scroll through the sunglasses, the textures are all white and missing
-
My player models don't have sunglasses... and I get errors sometimes when joining MP games with player who wear them... What can I do? Am I supposed to completely re-download and re-install?? It's a STEAM release. If so that's really freaking annoying...

So I've been using Vista64 and getting horrid FPS, but at least in the opening cutscene shot I had like 60-30fps.. now it won't go over 30... All the same settings, SLI ON...
GTX295, 8gigs of Ram,,,, what the???
-
I have experienced a strange bug where it seems like the shadow of a building is following you, superimposed ontop of your player shadow. Very strange, large block of a shadow...
Anyone seen this before?

This is driving me INSANE, Mahnatton mission, near any village I get CONSTANT radio chatter in Russian... NON STOP!! news cast, over and over and over... Its driving me crazy...
On top of this, the dumb support helicopter is stuck in the sky and not moving, what on earth? This game has WAAAAAYYYYY too many bugs.
Also how are you supposed to tell your guys which coordinate you are at, or for instance if they tell you there is a man @ this or that coordinate how can I tell where that is? Im confused.

I have on onboard card (Realtek HD or something) and I sometimes get the crackling and popping noise. For some reason it only happens in multiplayer.Same, only in multiplayer... I'm wondering if it really has something to do with shared IRQ between sound/video and ethernet.

I'm on an Asus Xonar d2x card now, not creative... I just got it a few days ago, same issue.
-
had same problem, switched my config to stereo speakers instead of 5.1 speakers and problem was resolvedConfig? How do you do that.... I only have 2.1 sound system.
-
I'm using Asus Xonar D2x sound-card (had a creative X-fi but getting rid of that, because I find its got lots of issues in Vista).... I have a single GTX295...
-
I have an overlock, but its very stable and I get the same buzzing without... I Just got a new soundcard and same issue.... :(
Vista 64,
8 Gigs, ddr2 OCZ 1066
Q9950 @ 3.4ghz oc'd
GTX 295 SLI

I'm at a loss... especially online and in some situations in single player, depending on where Im looking sometimes the game will simply drop to a CRAWL!!! like 1-5fps and the sound will crackle like crazy...
I have tried switching my X-Fi to a different slot with no luck. I'm also running a GTX295... It's driving me insane, nothing seems to help, and I have the latest drivers. This only seems to happen in Arma2....

What is wrong with the AI units in my group?? I tell them to mount vehicle and one or two will go running off somewhere. Or we receive contact and my squad goes off somewhere and they get lost?! What is up with the AI?? Has anyone heard of them fixing this in the next patch??This annoys me to no ends in single player...
-
AI is extremely stupid in this game, half the time they dont listen to you
-
Sorry to hear that, I have no vertigo in games, well VERY rarely... must be your refresh rate.
-
I have the same issue with the latest drivers, although they are def the fastest they seem to like to artifact the textures and crash to desktop. This was not happening with the 182.50s for me, I suggest trying those... but they're slower :(
-
I'm using latest nvidia drivers, and getting constant CTD's while in multiplayer its driving me nuts, if Im in the air sometimes the textures will start to corrupt and most of the land will be grey then shortly after CTD.... Uhhhh driving me nuts.
-
The 190.86 betas are mighty awesome (for me). Not sure if I'll bother moving to this non-beta version. They're no doubt essentially the same and I've no complaints with the betas.190.86? Those dont exist.

For those who want to know: The new drivers dont solve the 8 GB RAM issue. For me, they even pressed down the localVRAM and nonlocalVRAm to a new minimum: 2 MB (~2 million bytes, a string of seven digits)!
I guess the "old" known workarounds still work, though.
These drivers are much faster for me than 182.5's... Although they have an issue with 8gigs, by using -winxp and making the config file read only, I was able to fix the problem. I did experience some texturing corruption after a long while of playing and it crashed to desktop though.... so hard to tell if its worth it yet.
-
I'm curious if these are still plagued by the texture issues with it not detecting memory properly same as the other drivers? I have 8gigs of ram in Vista 64
-
I use 182.50s because I have 8gigs of ram, and with the newest drivers the textures simply don't load and the graphics are entirely corrupt (Gtx 295)
-
Try lowering Texture memory but raise AF to very highAF is already on Very high, already tried that... doesnt do much :)
-
I have tried pretty much everything, disabling SLI makes my fps slower.
I did do something which seems to have given me 5-10 extra FPS. I turned OFF AA, and went up by one resolution from 1920x , also went to "LOW" for post processing effects,, that way it doesnt look aliased.

Another user posted a nice linkhttp://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,687620/ArmA-2-tested-Benchmarks-with-18-CPUs/Practice/
It's a benchmark done with many different CPU's and shows that Arma 2 requires more CPU power than GPU power (sorry to those who bought the latest super graphics card)
That said, get your CPU up to clock and you can start worrying about the GPU again.
Q9550 Quad core @ 3.4ghz, seems like an Up to clock cpu, wouldn't you say? lol
-
My games runs like absolute ASS, 1920x, all Very high, except AA on LOW and memory on default... Setting the resolution lower seems to do very little, in fact changing any of the settings does very little.
Chernogorsk, 10-15FPS!!!
Q9550 @ 3.4ghz Quad CPU
8 Gigs of DDR2 1066
GTX295
Raptor
Vista x64
182.50s
-
Honestly I dont know how I can play in chernogorsk with 15 freaking FPS... This is nuts... :(
-
I'm lucky to get 10fps in some missions, all very high 1920x AA on low
8 Gigs of DDR2 1066
Q9550 @ 3.4 GHZ stable
GTX295
Raptor
LOL common now.
Static and extreme LOW framerate, no solution found in formus
in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
