Okay dude (roogie) I have both Arma2 and Arma2OA on steam and I'm running I44 now. I didn't buy combined ops but just one and then the other. I have two folders in my
steam/steamapps/common/
I have:
steam/steamapps/common/arma2
and
steam/steamapps/common/arma2operationarrowhead
If i want to run combined ops (which you would have to for I44 it uses vanilla arma2) I go in steam and run operation arrowhead and then it pops up a little window for Arma2OA or Arma2 combined ops. I select combined ops.
If your steam window looks like this you need to put the modfiles in your arma2operationarrowhead folder. Which would look like this:
steam/steamapps/common/arma2operationarrowhead/@I44
Since I am running op arrowhead to run combined ops if I put them in my arma2 folder it won't find the mod files.
You would run them by right clicking on the operation arrowhead icon in steam and selecting properties, under the "general" tab you will see a button for "set launch options" select that option and add in:
-mod=@I44;
no spaces or anything. In this way steam will run any modfolders in your arma2operationarrowhead folder. IE:
-mod=@I44;@blastcore;@celle;
or
-nosplash -mod=@I44;@blastcore;
I hope this helps. This is how I do it for Steam with both Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead, again I didn't buy combined ops I bought the two separately so while your folders may look different you should run them the same way.
EDIT:
Also after reading more of the posts, it does sound like combined ops is not properly installed. I'm not saying that's the case for sure, but I would also check under your games in steam and make sure there you don't need to install Arma 2 and Arma 2 op arrowhead as two separate games. Again just b/c that's how it is on my steam and I would imagine if you bought combined ops its probably the same since you need all the files from both games for combined ops.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing. Can someone go through this with the vanilla OA IR strobes as well?

As far as AA guns shooting at you, I've used this script before. It is easy to implement, you aim it, and it doesn't do any actual damage to aircraft. You can also choose to disable the flak clouds or leave them. More or less this should be exactly what you're looking for.

Edit: Sorry i thought that was the same full script I use but its only half. (I'm at work now otherwise i'd copy it from my files) Check out this thread as well, combining both the flak script and the AA gun force fire script creates an awesome effect, similar to what you see in every WWII Airborne para drop scene in movies/games.

Hi All,
I was super frustrated by this problem too. I was getting major hangups during the opening and still early when loading missions and in the editor. I was also super skeptical about defraging. But i was like what the hell I don't really wanna reinstall everything.
And volia.
I saw on another post someones suggested this Game Booster and to my very deep surprise it actually worked. Defraging eliminated the stuttering problems during the opening and in game play (1.56 had made it more or less unplayable for me). I'm sure it may not solve everything for everyone but it worked for me. Now to check if that new CBA release cleared up the rest of my 1.56 issues. . .
edit: Here's the post I saw yesterday on this
edit: System specs
Win 7
E8400 Core 2 Duo
GTX 480
2GB DDR2

I'm also having problems with frame rate. It seems to come and go in spurts of slowness that starts at the menu screen. I never had these problems before.
E8400
2GB Ram
GTX 465
Win 7
Any word on what the deal could be? Seems to be a common issue for 1.56

Can anyone help me with this error message? I've been looking all morning and can't find what the issue is.
Error when loading Arma2:OA or Combined Ops (I bought both separately on steam)
"Addon 'Extended_EventHndlers' requires addon 'CATracked2_AAV' "
I have tried using only @CBA (new 5.0 ver) and using both @CBA/@CBA_OA and am getting the same error every time. Now I can click okay and the game will still load but then once I get into the menu I get error
"No Entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/Land_Fire_Barrel.scope' "
Again I can click continue and get into the game but then as far as I can tell none of the CBA stuff is working then. (also in the error message the slashes are like that). If anyone knows what the dealio might be it would be much appreciated.

Yeah I'm curious about the idle chatter as well. I've had a mission involving a checkpoint and I've wanted a good way for units to look as though they are having a conversation or something amongst themselves, anybody else know about this stuff?

Yeah i've had this same problem. I can tell someone to go somewhere far away (like a city somewhere) and they can get there just fine on their own after a couple of seconds but if I try to set up like a convoy they drive like a student driver I can't figure out what the hell the deal is. I've tried changing behavior to safe, stealth, combat, etc and tried putting the WP further and closer apart and yet nothing. If anyone can help out this would be much appreciated.

I added some civilian vehicles at random around an area and used the urban patrol script and that works pretty good if a little tedious.
