  1. Firstly, I'm not making a mod, feel free to take this idea and make it for the good of the community.

    This is real tech being demoed at arms shows, now.

    And a sarcos one (that I cant watch... as my net is currently capped)

    exoskeleton_03.jpg

    That is some pretty sweet stuff, the next logical step is upper body strength assists which would mean carrying bigger meaner weapons and systems to absorb recoil.... and then on to the crazy stuff that we still think of as science fiction

    So on to the point, a mod that brings in some of this would be amazing.

    Too many mods, in my humble opinion, focus on putting more boring ass skins and models for guns that work the same as the ones already in the game.

    A mod with exoskeletons would allow for heaps of artistic license and could form the basis of some amazing campaigns.

    Any thoughts and anyone with the skills to take up the challenge? :D

  2. I would like to see a mods section added to the menu that searches for folders in the Addons folder and allows you to enable/disable them using a simple in game interface rather than having to manually add them to the command line or dumping them all in the folder and then not being able to turn them off.

    I wouldn't mind if enabling/disabling required the game to be restarted.

    This would make mods much more main stream, the forum is great but if BI could push mod take up it would benefit the game greatly in the long run.

    Perhaps something like this could be implemented with Operation Arrowhead

    Hell... or I could use this

  3. My GF used my PC earlier and to my horror I jumped in a heli and my joystick has been unplugged...

    No matter, keyboard is actually even easier to use.... -___-

    I really would like more difficult choppers, all choppers are near useless anyway as it is easy to track them with any MG or APC weapon and hit them over and over again at any range...

  4. Looking very nice.

    For those who are interested you can see and handle a steyr and FAL to your hearts content and look at the minimi and every other weapon you can imagine at the Lithgow small arms museum, along with about 1000 pistols and talk to some retired gents who have made every kind of gun bullet knife tank tread etc known to man in their earlier years (they now volunteer as guides)

    very off topic, but if you need inspiration this will do it for you :)

  5. Voting no because I find it hard enough fighting with arma IIs bushes/forests, the AI are not perfect for it.

    I would instead like to see a Korean war as I have never played an FPS based in Korea but have read a few accounts of huge battles and hill defenses.

    Despite the Americans running off and Vietnam eventually falling, the VC and NVA took massive losses and did not have matching quality armaments very often, Korea might be a fairer fight

  6. It would be cool to have some afghan areas, but arma 1 sucked, lets be honest.

    The desert was not good.

    Arma II, to me, feels much better and brings back the vibe of flashpoint, it is a true successor and I am very glad I have it :)

    The mods coming out are great, what I would really like is for BI to bundle up the best mods/skins/conversions and send them out as updates similar to what TF2 is doing with best user created maps.

    Look at what CS did to half life sales for instance, I think ARMA could move a lot of copies in the future if the publisher really gets behind user created content.

  7. Hi,

    Really noob question, how do i get exact coordinates in the editor?

    Learning by stealing below code, it works beautifully when adapted... except the camera is on the other side of the map.

    How do I find the coords for a specific position? I tried positioning it on an empty marker and it did not work.

    Help appreciated

    Code im stealing from clean_cut mission:

    playMusic ["Track03_First_to_Fight",31.8]

    ~5

    player sidechat "Alpha 1 to HQ, we are with Charlie 1 at the extraction point, wainting for new instructions. Over."

    ~3

    _camera = "camera" camcreate [4326.53,5955.27,37.41] <---- these.

    _camera cameraeffect ["internal","back"]

    _camera camPrepareTarget player

    _camera camPreparePos [7820.36,6877.42,3.63]

    _camera camPrepareFOV 0.700

    _camera camCommitPrepared 0

    @camCommitted _camera

    _camera camPrepareTarget player

    _camera camPreparePos [7831.89,6871.87,17.90]

    _camera camPrepareFOV 0.700

    _camera camCommitPrepared 6

    @camCommitted _camera

    _camera camPrepareTarget player

    _camera camPreparePos [7814.71,6912.91,48.93]

    _camera camPrepareFOV 1.000

    _camera camCommitPrepared 8

    @camCommitted _camera

    cutText ["", "BLACK OUT", 2]

    ~2

    _camera CameraEffect ["Terminate", "Back"]

    CamDestroy _camera

    atextract=true

    activateKey "clean_cut";

    exit

  8. Fallout is single player only is it not?

    This would be pretty awesome if the world is big enough.

    You should play fallout 3 though, some of the crazy shit you come across in the wasteland, like super heroes and cannibals and such is amazing.

    some killer mutant animals would be nice too

    Edit: also please include weapon fatigue/quality and jams jams jams and breakages

  9. Set the aircraft to Flying

    Dont have anything In Formation or it might be somewhere else

    To have an aircraft come pick you up you can use a trigger or radio call to make it go to the next waypoint (and land to get you) but i dont yet know how to make this landing area dynamic.

    Best way to learn is to unpack other peoples missions and look at how everything works.

    A program called UnPBO does this for you.

  10. Maybe... if it wasnt for bugs slowing me down and hours spent trying to get it to stop lagging (not the games fault, my system is below min specs) I guess it would have been very short.

    Expect a slew of expansion packs to rake in more moolah shortly.

    The game is very impressive, eventually the kinks will be worked out and I will finally have something to replace flashpoint (which I have been playing for almost half of my life o_O) and once technology moves forward and the modding community go nuts this will keep us happy for years to come.

    If it runs slow now just think about 5 years down the track, my old computer had a hemorrhage playing OFP when I first got it as well.

    Over all, Big Thankyou to BIS, this game is excellent.

  11. Just check your objectives, same thing happened to me, the Hind sent to pick her up was shot down in flames and then nothing happens.

    She just ran off into the woods and I moved on.

    Still cant finish the mission due to masssssive bugs so I'm not sure if this causes problems later.

    You might need to just do everything else and then cheat to end the mission.
