All of Chernogorsk is destructible, minus a few factory towers, so I don't see why not. But you realize you already have plenty of desert.Basically, I want to get a mobile cannon and flatten the area, then proceed in order to avoid getting shot by some guy with a rocket launcher. I suppose I can do it if I have an ammo truck nearby. What is the biggest mobile land gun I can get?
-
Is Zargabad fully destructible? Can I flatten everything and make it a desert? Even the big buildings?
-
Try this: place an artillery piece on the map together with an ammo truck. Drive the ammo truck close to the piece. Sit in the piece and fire away. It should say "rearming" on the screen and the ammo count should go up.For towing etc etc, check this one out:
Does it work the same way with a tank? What about a carried machinegun/missile launcher?
-
You can't tow/move it (easily, check the scripting command AttachTo)You can reload a static gun from an ammo truck,.
How does reloading work? I have the ammo truck next to it, but where is the option to reload?
Also, can you give me a link to a working mod/script that allows towing of the howitzers?
-
Can I attach a howitzer to a truck or something? I want to move it.
Also, how do I get more ammo for it?
-
I don't know if any class lists are released yet' date=' but what you could do is place an ammo box (look through different ones to find the gun you need)[/quote']Where is the ammo box? Where do I find it?

Is there a way to spawn weapons on the ground for me to pick up?
-
In OA, is it possible to play as a guerrilla? It would be nice to spawn inside the city and hide in a mosque with a lee enfield rifle. If not, what is the closest sandbox game mode that allows this?

Go to gameplay options, difficulty, and see for yourself. Higher difficulties basically force some features off.It says in that menu what gets turned off and what gets turned on, specifically? I basically only play LAN warfare against the AI. A lot of fun, but it's hard to identify enemies from friendlies. I really don't mind an accurate AI. I want the AI to be as good as possible without cheating (knowing what's behind it's back, seeing through cover, aimbot accuracy, etc...).

I googled "Arma Difficulty" and got first hit :http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Difficulty
Exactly what you need :) Just think of low/medium/high values to correspond to the description that are effected in percentage.
Also expert turns off icons in the map so you need to use compass and you wont get enemy pinged on the map, plus extra help and 3rd person view are off on expert, things like that.
In the difficulty setting you can set skill levels and also what you do and dont see as you wish so its easy to have a balance of what you like.
That's for ArmA, not ArmA 2.

What is the difference between the difficulties (normal, expert and others)?

War Welcome.Thanks. How do I make it so I can build base structures (like the one necessary to buy helicopters)? I think I can only build defenses right now.
-
Is there a warfare mode (like on Chernarus) for Utes? Chernarus is a bit too large for me. I want to learn the rules of capturing first.
-
Agreed. They should just add autosave options like many others games have. Autosaving is useful sometimes when playing LAN against the AI, but in MP games? Doubtful. Even against the AI, sometimes I don't want to save on exit or in the middle shooting. Just let us save without existing, save with existing (suspend), and exit without saving.

What if you're out of gas in the middle of nowhere? Can you siphon fuel from another vehicle, or maybe buy gas at a gas station and take it to the vehicle? In Solders (and its sequels), you could do all that and even keep a canteen (or barrel) of gasoline in the vehicle and refuel when you needed to (but you obviously had to stop and get out to do it).

To capture a town, you have to capture the main big bunker in the center. I'd also recommend letting the AI command until you have a feel for what is happening. It does a decent job at doing diddly squat :P. Also, if the AI has taken even one small bunker in a town, you can't fast travel there anymore. It gets annoying trying to keep your squaddies in-line and all the bits and pieces of your squad running. There's many details that are either missing (UAV terminal, radar, working airfields, etc.), not explained (how do you order your AI squads to go capture something like the AI commander does? and why do all the ai squads get a billion dollars while you have 500?), or just broken (buying a unit from the town bunkers). Many, many, many things that need fixing. Hopefully, someone will be able to make a superpowers-like mission with all the bells and whistles available plus some of the extras in crcti Warfare. Unfortunately, that isn't going to be me.
The four surrounding squares and the center big square are red (I'm OPFOR). So it should be capped, but I still can't fast travel.
-
I'm playing Superpowers with me as OPFOR and one AI as BLUFOR. I capped some towns on my own with the starting guns. It can be easy if you're alone.
Sometimes I ran into motorized infantry, but two shots in the right places ended that. Anyway, I made it to Chakovka and captured the town, as well as the four bunkers. However, no friendly trucks went there and I cannot fast travel from that location! Why is this?
Also, how do I keep my towns from being captured by enemies? I am the only one at this town. I voted myself as commander, but all I see is the regular buy menu.

Yeah, the interface really is crap. I'd say it might even be worse than the X3 interface.
The interface should visibly branch and be divided into sections. Here, it's like you find a brand new menu everyday, and some interface sections contain way too many different commands. In a game that can get as complicated as a modern RTS, that's simply unacceptable, especially given that it is played in the first person.

have you played campaign? its buggy as hell. but as soon as you get to badlands you get exactly the kind of mission your talking about :PWell, since it is buggy as hell, I didn't bother. I'm much more interested in using the wizard to autogenerate a challenge and then try to solve it in LAN with high command/purchase/construction powers.

Under CHERNARUS i have 'deathmatch', 'detector', 'close quarter battle', ... and 2 warfare modes -> "Civil War" and "Superpowers".
How many units can I have under my control? I can pick 7-8 AIs for each side, but those AIs are not under my control. The only units under my control are the few that I buy. Is there a way to get lots and lots of units and place them as sentries to control areas as I capture them? And, that way, I will be the main "leader" of the assault? I think I heard that it can even play as an "RTS," but that would only be possible if I have lots and lots of units under my control.

I want to play a seize area mission (where I play as leader of an elite team against AI patrols), but with the ability to buy infantry/vehicles and construct base items in a designated HQ area. How do I edit this into a seize mission?
Also, which game modes give me high command ability (build barracks, command entire squads individually, etc...)? And is there a way to add that to a seize, wizard-generated map?
-
Are there more than two maps? I see Utes and Chernarus.
-
I've been playing some civil war and world war maps (LAN with AI) and I like it a lot. However, there are some problems. The main one is that I often don't have a clue where I am. I look at the map and there are 7 identical red boxes and I have no clue which I am. I also don't know where the action is so I'll often kill 3 people and then never find anyone else.
Is there a way to navigate more easily? And what are the best maps similar to this, but that are not quite so large? Sometimes it feels as though there is nobody around. I like a bit of freedom, but it should be manageable.

I restarted from a few autosaves ago. For some reason, I failed a regroup mission at some point, but the game continued. Then I got the "conquer" mission. I took over the place and took out my laser. I was then ordered, in order, to blow up the house with the red smoke, the camoed tank, and then the moving tank. After I blew up the last one, it said that mission was completed. Then, it just says mark the targets according to instructions, but the laser thing doesn't have a "send in" command anymore and nothing else happens. I went right up to each of the 4 characters, but none of them responded to me or did anything. Do I have to restart the whole level?
Zargabad: fully destructible?

Are those from a heavy factory? What are they called?
