Back to discussing really minor details. http://i.imgur.com/PP24wmk.jpg (328 kB) One of Taiwan's AH-64Es. I'm fairly certain the fairing between the flare dispenser on the left and the square LWR housing on the right is for CMWS. Confirming if US AH-64Es have them too is harder than I'd have thought. -

Finally gave this great mod a try. Besides for some occasional memory error (something to do with all of the vegetation on the maps, ArmA hates vegetation) I am very impressed. But are there any good single player missions or campaigns done for it? Or a multiplayer server up running it? Also I've noticed that the APERS/fletchette ammunition on the M48A3 and US static artillery has the power of a nuke going off. -

Must have forgotten that, thanks for your patience. Is BIS still doing engine fixes for ArmA2 CO? They solved the problem in ArmA3 somehow and it was there for a time. -

Positives and negatives aside the F-35 will be the backbone of US tactical airpower for the next few decades, I think people have to get used to that fact. There are a few things about the aircraft that bother me however. The biggest one is the weight. It went through SWAT and all the variants still seem ~3,000 lbs heavier than they should be. How the hell were the estimates so far off? At the end of the day it's a damn shame that (for the most part) the aircraft is only meeting its threshold requirements and not the objectives, but this is far from the first time in aviation history where this has been true. I'm hopeful that the F-35A can be something akin to a modern A-7D but with superior air-to-air capabilities. The F-35B should make a fine Harrier II successor, while the F-35C... well the Navy is just going to have to suck it up and accept it. In terms of range, payload, and performance the F-35C is quite comparable to the F/A-18E but with stealth and better avionics so it's not all that terrible despite those horrified at the thought of flying what isn't a "Navy" design. The decision to severely scale back the F-22 program was a fine example of incredible stupidity but that's another topic entirely. -

Hi Goliath, it seems somehow ArmA3 has fixed the spent brass bug that I've been somewhat obsessed with, not certain exactly what was changed but maybe it would be possible to port back to ArmA2 CO? Something also seems to have broken the smoke dischargers on all of the vehicles (nothing happens when I use them) but it may have nothing to do with Corepatch, I'll keep investigating. -

Thanks for the info, how do you set it so older versions aren't saved? Are there any performance issues if I change the synq directory to my 1TB HDD (7200 rpm) versus the SSD I actually have ArmA2 installed to? -

I would like to use withSix more but the way it doubles all of my addons (and therefore the size) is eating up all of my HDD space. Is there any way to avoid this? -

The ability to create rivers, ponds, streams, and so on would be great. Perhaps one day we could have armored bridge-layers and genuine river crossings. -

Great take on a Super Super Hornet. Hyper Hornet? Personally I would rather have a "what-if" NATF. Of course naval aviation never seems to get the coolest stuff IRL.

Regardless of the mistakes we made in setting up the new Iraqi government, they themselves have consistently failed to govern. The fact is that we were tired of the cost as for almost a decade we played the world's most expensive game of whack-a-mole going around and killing all sorts of insurgent and militia assholes while attempting to strengthen the Iraqi government. The same is true with Afghanistan. Even people truly devoted to rebuilding these countries will get tired of regularly reading about events where some treacherous Iraqi or Afghan "soldier" turns his weapon on his comrades and American advisers at a base or checkpoint somewhere. Money? It wasn't profitable for us. Only profitable for those like Karzai who will be out of Afghanistan on a private jet long before some fanatics break into his office to chop off his head.

Never understood why it is supposedly unacceptable to use "negro". My guess is that some blacks just decided it was offensive one day. Why? Because reasons. The reasons probably being attention seeking from the Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton types. Some say "blacks" or "black" is offensive? Why? I certainly have to identify myself as "white" on many occasions. Should I be offended?

I'm trying to create a scenario which includes several ships including the LHD from vanilla ArmA2 and mods like the Nimitz class carrier, yet in many situations I find myself falling through the deck at different different spots in the ship. It takes a lot of moving the ship around in the editor to find a spot where you don't get these gaps in the geometry of a large ship. Is there any method to doing this? I thought making sure the sea floor was flat under the ship would do the trick yet even then this problem still exists. I've also made sure to only have the ship at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees.

In ArmA2 you could sorta walk around on and inside of ships as long as they were stationary? What changed?

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but are you guys still actively working on Pedagne mod for ArmA2 OA/CO? The work you've done is of incredible quality but there are a lot of bugs and errors that I could report to you guys if necessary. For some reason the fix for the amphib pack doesn't seem to add the redone briefing room. -

Hey great work so far, I haven't seen much work done to patch ArmA2 lately which is rather unfortunate since there are a lot of things still causing trouble. Has anybody found a way to get spent brass to render in first person properly? Currently it only renders at a distance so you don't see them being ejected from your weapon. -

For some reason on some occasions my laser guided Hellfires repeatedly land a few meters short of the vehicle I am tracking with the laser. Is this a bug or have I forgotten to do something? This seems to happen in all Hellfire modes.
