There already exist at least 5 armies with African background.
There are the Molatian & Afrenian armies of Isla Duala (modern day setting).
And there are the MPLA, UNITA and Portuguese Armies in my DIH Africa mod (1970s setting).

Why not a "jagged alliance 2" style mod ?Something like 10 different mercenary, a private army, and a large set of weapons http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Jagged_Alliance_2
Lot of this weapons are already present in various weapon pack, like Vilas P85 ..
The island for a campaign could be Chernarus of course !!

I guess most features *could* be achieved through missions (PR:BF2 features like Rally Points, restricted special weapons in squads depending on squad size... no clue what the will include in PR:armA2).
But as they plan to go stand-alone, it will safe them a lot of work if they go the addon-way. And some features could not be realized in missions alone, I guess (suppression effect?).

PR creates a setting that rewards teamplay, while lone wolves stand little chance.
In BF2, they did this both by missions & features. I guess it will be that way in ArmA 2 too.

And more serious: I hope the many buggy weapons that don't appear on a dedicated server system will be fixed (wrong value for the 'public' variable in the configs?).

Well, yes. I hope so. At least it worked on my private Dedicated Server with a re-downloaded version of 31stN+Patch A+Patch B.

we tried your mission in a well-populated COOP yesterday and had some fun with it.
However, you should include the multiplayer weapon spawn fix (you can find it HERE), otherwise grenades won't work in MP.

Other mission makers could be interested how I solved this strange 'You can not play this mission because it is based on downloaded content that has been deleted: aqu_smine_patch'-Error Message I got after patch 0.99b on Dedicated Servers:
Since patch 0.99b, the aqu_smine.pbo seems to be needed by other .pbos, but it is not automatically added to the 'addons' array in mission.sqm after re-saving the mission. Furthermore, if you add it manually, it sometimes gets deleted from the array after re.saving.
So:
1) Everytime you finish a mission, check if the "aqu_smine_patch" entry is listed in the addons array in your mission.sqm.
2) If not, add it manually
3) Then, pack the mission MANUALLY. If you use the 'export to multiplayer missions' button in the editor, chances are that your manual entry will be deleted.

On a sidenote: We had to revert to 0.99a, but we had a very nice evening of ~14 player coop with your mod - thanks for that!

currently, I have the (quite serious) problem, that I can't join any dedicated server (no matter what mission) because the server says he is missing the 'aqu_smine_patch' because it has been deleted... But that problem might be on my end too.
EDIT: I might add that the aqu_smine.pbo is present on both server and client

This update was necessary because the mission was no longer compatible with the latest version of the 31st Normandy mod (0.99b).

The 'Marines' word on your chopper most probably comes from an _smdi.paa (How's that called? Specular Map?) and not from a _co.paa.
You will have to change it as well.

The next mission will be up soon.
You can see the vanguard of the attacking 666th Soviet Guards Army.
They are nicknamed 'The Faces' because of their Mod attitude (just look at that exquisite tank camo!) and their rather disturbing habbit of nailing the skinned faces of their victims onto their helmets.
