im reviving this post to revive the subject.

has anyone tested this as well?

just create a mission where u stand about 50 meters behind enemy units and start the mission. dont move at all, or even more but dont make noise. the AI will detect u even if u r not doing anything.

however if u lay PRONE than the AI wont detect u if u r behind them.

They do see you even if they're 200+ meters away and you're proning in tall grass / behind 39583 trees.

also be careful where you point on the map... the AI is stupid enough to try and land on trees. which results in destroyed chopper.

Well, also, the Airstrike command is also gone, so destroying the Chidaki mainbase is... impossible?

A decent hit system is really needed in ArmA.

True, also checking the aim of the AI. Apperantly they sniped me from 500+ meters with an AK while I was prone and behind a cascade of trees.

Hmh.. Yeah, well.. I know it's perfectly possible to do it without the chopper, but running or driving vehicles takes so long I want to punch a baby. :p

Oh well, guess I have to steal an NPC or tank from the Manhattan base. : ))

Hi there!

I just completed the task where you escort the female from the Church in the "Manhatten misson" (forgot her name and I don't have the chance to log in now.) to the extraction post at LZ Jersey.

Now, just after she was extracted, I called for the chopper to pick me up, which it did, but we were shot down shortly after, so I decided to load game, and take them out on foot. I loaded, took out the sentrypost, and this is where the problem comes in; I now can't call the transport helicopter. When I open the Communication-window, it's just empty.

I have not received any messages from Swordsman or anyone else, and I did NOT save AFTER being shot down in the chopper. I loaded the game, and now I'm stuck.

Anyone?

Have you tried to get into the chopper first, then have your squad mount?

Get in the helo, press Backspace, then ~ (to select the whole squad), then Mount, your vehicle.

If I do, one or more members just say "Negative" and refuse to enter at all.

I also have similar problems.

I've just started the game sort of, and I just became the Team Leader, and used the Venom for the first time to get to Dressler. After I've talked to Dressler and he has given me the X-marks on the map, and after recalling the Chopper for extraction, this is the problems I get;

When the choppers arrives and I order my men into it, the chopper takes off leaving me behind (no, I'm not slow, I can't even interact with it at all.) and goes up about 100 meters where it stays and hovers.

If I try to disembark my team, the chopper comes down (note; it doesn't even land on the landingpad, even though that's where I'm radioing from, it lands close to or on top of one of the tents.) and stays there.

After that, I actually manage (after some tries) to get my entire team and myself into the chopper. Here I encounter another problem; I can't go anywhere. When I open my map and click on a location for the pilot to take us, nothing happens. (It worked the first time when it took me to Dressler's camp?)

Also, I actually managed once to get to one of the crosses on the map by stealing a Humvee. But as I approached the camp marked on the map, my screen went white instantly. The only thing visible was the indicators in the corners showing my teammates locations. I could hear everything going on, and the Corpsman was even next to me healing me (as I had been shot running in there blind), but the screen never turned back.
