cri74 - Your missing the Vops_s_guns.pbo seems you only have its bisign file but not the PBO itself in your folder hence not hearing the sound files. Also ive heard rumours that you should put the vopsound mod at the end of ur target line so yours should be this: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -nosplash -mod=@TRSM_Tracked_Vehicles;@RH_Heli_ sound_mod_1.01;@VopSound_2.1
Then it's missing from the zip file because I've downloaded a few times and I've never had it. And i've always been under the impression that the signed update was the complete package but with a working signed key, and if it's not, it should have been. It's rough enough keeping up with addon versions.

Heck strap on 30 pounds of gear and tell us you can jump much higher than you can take a big giant step. Arma 2 has already gone far and above most other games by not allowing you to be stopped by ankle high garbage on the roads the way a large number of others games tend too.

The readme leaves a lot to be desired for those of ust that havent' installed a BIS game addon for 7 years if ever.
Suggested Readme additions:
Place all files within ..\Arma 2\@gdtmod_hdr\Addons\ -- missing theAddons Folder as far as I can tell
default key is 'Home'

So does that mean that arma 1 now runs very very fast with a top notch graphics card.Have to remember, Arma 1 and 2 render double square kilometre's at a general minimum and BF and COD might render up to 4 or 6 square kilometre's at their max. Every bullet, every tracer and every leaf has physics modeling and you can see how the processing load on these games is easly 5-10 times that over your run of the mill run and gunner.

Just like crysis, give the hardware 6-9 months to catch up.

Thanks for the signage, felt kinda odd self-signign one for my server.
WSS Edition up!Features
* .wss audio file format (direct .wav conversion)
* binarized

Jets shouldn't even be included imo. Watching jets fly 200m over a battlefield at what appears to be 150mph isn't immersive or realistic. It looks and feels like bf2. The engagement range for a ground strike probably wouldn't fit on to Chenarus. The view distance/detail isn't anywhere near supporting it nor is the dev time needed to simulate jet tech. And don't anyone dare say a modern battlefield isn't realistic without modeling jets because I bet there's alot of infantry that've never seen an air strike first hand but have all had to take a s**t, wait around for weeks and rely on logistics and supplies for food and water. It's a game first and a sim second. If you want a plane sim, buy a plane sim. If you want a tank sim, buy a tank sim. If you want an infantry sim, buy ARMA 2. If you want it all then join one of the armed services.
The entire role of the A-10 is to fly at 200 knots and 200 feet, and provide anti-armour/defense support for a platoon.

You only get to focus on anything in about a 120-90 degree field of view, the outside 40-80 degrees is motion and contrast detection. Even veteren mode offers the white bubbles on the screen edge to indicate a motion or contrast sensing, without highlighting it in the FOV.
Seeing over walls and around corners is game breaking for the most part, and definately more so than an artificially limited FOV. If you want 3rd person in PVP might as well turn on all the newbie level settings and get a massive boost to situational awareness, god knwo sI coudl use it some days when my team is sneaking up on an enemy I saw disappear behind a fenceline and I get them confused.

It's pretty much as the others have suggested, mission makers have been thinkign large and utilizing the entirety of the map, whcih woudl be great 3 months from now with full PVP servers. We just need a few peopel to make soem quick and dirty maps that aren't any larger than town to town for now.

I don't know if you can actually break it down 'per slot' since things change per mission. If your provider is charging per slot, then I would suggest they don't know very much about this game. Perhaps, not per missions either, but per mission type, is a better way of saying it. Hold, CTI, Warfare, CO-OP and PvP all have different needs and requirements on your server. EVO and DOM are pretty much mission types all on their own.Is it a dedicated server?
Does it have a bandwidth limit (GB per month)?
Do you have root/admin access to the server?
I just know that in the past you used to have a recommended amount of bandwidth per player in the server. Looking to host my own, and was hoping to find out approximately how much bandwidth was needed to run say a 16 slot server.

Check your key mappings, I have never personally experienced this.
I'm not sure if its just the AH-1Z Viper Helicopter, but it is the only instance of this problem showing up for me, and here is the problem...I'm flying along, heading to the target area to kill some tanks / apcs / cars, and I turn on manual fire and target the nearest enemy. I decide to go for the cannon since I'm a little close, and in the middle of firing I suddenly switch to Hellfire missiles and launch one. Thinking it was a mistake on my part (bumping the button or something) I just cycle through the weapons back to cannon again and resume. After a few rounds it switched to Hellfire again! I then thought it could be something like my gunner is choosing the appropriate weapon for me (was targeting an apc), but then when I target an enemy chopper and shoot off a sidewinder, it switches back to Hellfire! This is extremely annoying and makes using the Viper almost impossible because you'll be out of Hellfires by the time you are in desperate need of one.
Anyone know wth is going on?

Quick question, curious if anyone's inferred through observation a minimum upload bandwidth required per player slot for smooth gameplay on a dedicated server?

Ordered one yesterday, should be here later this week. Now if I can just get it into the basement without the wife beating me to death with it.I'm in the same boat Datter. Splurged on one after humming and hawing over it for 3 years now, likely get a frying pan over the head over it myself.

Most aircraft use a gattling gun as an after thought accessory, the A-10 is literally built around the GAU-8. The entire design thought of the A-10 was "I have a massive gattling gun, now build me a plane to use it".

Snoops, I think a "Longbow" Apache is a Longbow. They don't take the radar off and put it back on. It's its own separate aircraft. My best understanding is that approximately 25% (or less) of an AH-64D squadron is the Longbow variety. The AH-64D can network with the AH-64D Longbow so a single Longbow in a group of 4 can act as sensor for the other 3 in the flight. As for TOWs. I suspected that they didn't but this video suggests otherwise. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d69_1194814584
Techincaly 100% of the Longbows have the radar dome as that's waht differenciates the AH-64D from the AH-64A (which is sans dome) and is jsut called the Apache.

Well the other term for it could be deflection shooting, and you don't zero in your scope for snap shots either, from what I know, which isn't much, is that for themost part a sniepr's rifle scope is zeroed in on a specific range ahead of time, and deflection is only dialed in if you have loads of time to get the perfect shot (law enforcement sharpshooters during hostage situations come to mind), but generally if you are on the move and encounter an enemy that you are at risk of exposing your self too, as as sniper you are trained to use teh graduations on the crosshairs to make delfection adjustments on the fly.
Now in OFP the M24 had a distance dial stock, I haven't used it, but am kind of surprised it isn't included in ArmA2 stock. One of the reasons I prefer the PSO scope in both games.
