Thanks for the answer. I realized where the problem was. I was using the "Arma 2/Expansion" mod and that messed it up. From what I understand, that mod serves no purpose in the list as it's loaded automatically with OA. Maybe you could hide/remove it in the next update to avoid confusion. Great tool by the way. Nice to see you are still updating it regularly.

I was getting the errors with OA beta too. Fixed it by adding "-mod=Expansion\beta\Expansion" to the Additional command line parameters. This folder is not in the mods section and the beta doesn't work correctly without it for me. One question: Should be the mod "Arma 2/Expansion" active when playing OA or not, or it doesn't matter?

You are. The HUD works like a holosight (don't know the correct term) in reality. It would be useless if it would work like in Arma - you move your head 1 centimeter left or right and it is already misaligned. It's the same as with Aimpoint and Eotech in game.Some example videos: - homemade HUD at 4:25 - real F16Even ww2 planes already had reflector (holo) sights.

When I installed OA it asked me if I want to activate it online. I activated it and voila - no disk needed. :) But I'm not sure if the online activation is in every version.

All you need is the 1.52 patch - that will also update ArmA2 to 1.07. Then there is the optional betapatch that includes many fixes and performance optimisations. Even if you install the betapatch you can still play without it. (you will have 2 shortcuts) Not sure about the controls, but solution to that is probably not to use the next button.

I really hope they will take their time with ArmA3 and deliver us something really amazing, not some half-assed product like the first ArmA.

It's not that surprising considering all those games are pretty old. In contrary - I played demo of Sniper Ghost Warrior and it's incredibly shitty budget game.

Wow, I remember I played demo of this looong time ago that I got from a magazine. Never played the full game and couldn't remember the name.

Just tried it and ironsights cannot be used. At least not on the current ingame model. But I would like to see some over-the-scope secondary "sights". That would be really helpful for cqb.

OA comes with ArmA2 1.06 patch. If you have 1.07 already it won't install the 1.06. OA 1.52 patch comes with ArmA2 1.07 patch and even if you have 1.07 already installed, you still need to patch OA. So download and install the patch even if you have ArmA2 1.07. OA version and ArmA2 version are 2 separate things. They are 2 different applications.

When you stop moving the camera, it locks on ground.

I like the fact that you have to actually aim now and can't rely on "spray and pray" tactics. It may not be perfect now, but it's a step in the right diretion.

Are the trees from an addon? (for example African foliage) If yes, maybe the viewgeometry LOD is bugged/not finished.
