What worked for me:
- create an ISO image of the DVD on your HDD
- extract the contents of the ISO with WinRar or whatever
- install from the extracted contents on your HDD
- start the game with the original DVD in your optical drive

Hi,
I created a template for the editor to be used in your own missions or campaings. I built a complete Marines HQ, therefor I converted the village of Balota to a housing area, converting the old landing field, added tons of barbed wire, road blocks, road signs, patrolling guards, added lights, tried (!!! *g*) to simulate some life........... ah heck, check out yourself :)
Here's a screenshot of the editor to give you some overview over the changes. Feel free to edit the "mission" yourself to your liking. I guess it's a good start for your own missions or campaigns or even as a basis for some movies ;)

I'm afraid I cannot run this mod. To make sure it's no fault of mine, here's what I did:
-copied the Keys and the @MAP folder to my Arma2 directory at H:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\
- changed my link properties to "H:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -mod=@MAP -cpuCount=4 -nosplash -winxp
- ran the game, neither the common editor in the single player menu does show any changes, nor the editor you'll open with CTRL+E in the main menu.
I saw screenshots where (I got the German version) there should be an entry "LEER" inside the combobox "SEITE". Don't see anything there, don't see any changes at all.
The version I have is a downloaded version from "Gamesload".
Would be kind if one could be of help.....

About psychic AI...... I did the "Dogs of War" mission with my Medic as a driver for my T72, heading towards the enemy. Only machineguns were in sight, the bullets hit the tank, not even any scratches. But........ they killed my driver inside the tank. Ok, I thought, next try turn the tank 90 degrees to the enemy, so they won't be able to kill him through the peephole. No way, those MG bullets were not only armor piercing, the also would fly around the corner ;)
I started an earlier savegame and avoided the region :D
That AI is really incredible...... maybe Arma2 simulates grass which might add some camouflage, but even with NVG I will be hardly able to see any enemy in cities where the light is blinding me. Those guys will shoot me with their AKs from half a mile while me hiding behind concrete blocks.

I also encounter problems with the Helicopter AI. Having the AI move a helicopter to a specific location, I'd expect the helicopter to hover there, maybe decrease speed before reaching the location.
What the AI does: it does not stop at that point, it tries to reduce speed but drifts away until the end of the map is reached.
Also I have no idea how to make the AI land the copter, except for telling the pilot to disembark, which mostly leads to the landing the copter at the desired position. Sometimes, funnywise, the pilot decides to land wherever he prefers, leading to landing in trees or offshore :)
Short: heli AI is totally crap, not to talk about crashing into trees because of too low altitude. And I never saw the AI attacking any targets with missiles if available, but that's not only a problem with helicopters - if a gun is available, AI will use this, if not, it will do nothing.

Try something like this:

Else I wouldn't switch over to Taskmanager while playing Arma2, some programs reduce their CPU usage while in the background, going idle so to speak. This might lead to the thought it's not using all CPUs.

Ha...... that's probably the trigger that creates the Russian Base. I drove to the island, and my gunner killed everyone who ran around. So...... no cutscene for me. Maybe no Russian Base for me as well!?
Guess I'll have to restart the game, but....... no, that would add a fifth day trying this mission, and I get really bored about all that scripted stupidity.

Murny? Is that the guy to kill later in the mission? It's the one named "Warlord" you talked to earlier.
Taking out Mrsta (or whatever)..... there were some barracks and stuff in the plain near the village. Fired a couple of SABOT rounds from my T72 and the mission was done.
Still the question: where's that Russian Camp? I can only find one close to an airfield where the Russian flag is, but that's definately not Krasostav.

The Chedaki Base is in Mrsta (or whatever the name was), but I cant find the Russian Base. Krasnostav AB it was, but my own troops do not find anything, I myself get killed by a scripted missile whenever I go beyond the airport. And the AI helicopters of the USMC which are under my control do not report anything at all, not even what my own troops see. Those three choppers are really useless.
Dunno how to end the mission. Three days and a ton of reloads later I'm really bored.........

A BMP is amphibious, that should do. Unfortunately my AI gunner killed all the folks on the island (at least he recognized there was an enemy, which is not always true *g*)

Same here, no matter if the commander is AI or myself. A factory is built, trying to buy air units result in "no factory".

Heya,
got a few questions concerning building static defenses and the city menu. Whenever I buy I vehicle, the crew comes with it. Whenever I build a static defense, no gunner there. For now I bought cheap crewmen and put them in the defenses, but was wondering if a built defense wouldn't increase the amount of necessary defenders in the city menu, so the AI commander would probably put a few guys in themselves.
Any ideas how to make sure that all the defenses will be manned automatically?
