Starting missions inside a vehicle but with vehicle ungrouped with squad
Jimmy the Saint replied to jdbecks's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hello, the editing so far makes sense. But I don't get the AI in the cargo to disembark at a transport unload waypoint. I'm using this script "this moveincargo veh1;". -
Mission help for a newbie.
Jimmy the Saint replied to Meltbrain's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Would you talk to crazy marines who started a shooting near you? Anyway, if you get him to talk another time, you'll get the reason why he didn't wanted to talk to you before. Play nice with Malek "the farmer"! -

How does the game grant us "points" when we finish a mission?
Jimmy the Saint replied to topeira's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It's probably a mixed bag of achieved goals and killed opponents. -
Level Of Detail (LOD) problems -not performance related:
Jimmy the Saint replied to -=seany=-'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Yes, that's something that happens on my system aswell. I'm not sure though, if the game automatically adjusts the graphical output in relation to any momentary system resources. I get such LOD problems mostly in well crowed places with a lot of "non-nature" related objects like cities, which have a huge amount of polygons and textures. However I noticed that I get a slight increase of an overall picture quality when I add this line into my arma2.cfg: sceneComplexity=160000; - But use it at your own risk and be sure to set the file on read only after you have made changes in it. -
Mission help for a newbie.

1. The corpsman is your ultimate healer in the field, he can also take care of slighter wounded soldiers. Other squadmembers can just do the basic healing, as long as they have a first aid package. All members of Razor Two are able to do the first aid, although Mr. O'Hara is the corpman to take care of all kind of wounds. If one of your squadmates has been shot down, you can either call for the corpsman or switch to him via the "t" key and try to help your teammate by dragging him into safty or giving him directly first aid. 2. For start, these pages can be helpful http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com/ 3. You got the right clue already, but sometimes it can be hard to find evidence. Just be sure to talk to everyone and to keep looking around all the places and talk to everyone who might have some informations. -
I do not think so.

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Jimmy the Saint replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Why should you be able to take down a whole squad on your own from 200m while the AI just stands around or shoots like army recruits or amateurs? Try to play the redone mission from OPF which is called "Sniper" and be sure to move a bit away (for about 500-700m) from the enemy and you will see that it is not impossible to take them out one by one from a distance. -
ArmA 2 1.01: Bitter Chill - serious bugs
Jimmy the Saint replied to MuthaF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Thanks for your afford, but I made it through the mission. I guess my fault was that I attacked the enemy guys at the front gate of FOB Manhatten whatever script it activates when you take out those ChDKZs. Simply put, as I got the documents and burnt the house, I drove off the town on the road eastwards and then up the hill from the northern region close to the FOB until I found Simmons. Then I called the chopper. The rest of the mission worked just fine. -

Thank you, I have successfully done the mission now. -
Obvoisly we want some gore
Jimmy the Saint replied to Chumbuster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I do not need exessive gore in this game. Speaking particularly of the campaign, it already has some intensive moments for me. -
ArmA 2 1.01: Bitter Chill - serious bugs
Jimmy the Saint replied to MuthaF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
I am having the same problem here. I cannot reach FOB Manhatten. Maybe there is some single unit running around the map which needs to be killed so the area gets unlocked? -
Bitter Chill-help!!
Jimmy the Saint replied to giantsfan24's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Maybe there is help for this? Maybe a developer has an idea? I have tried it a second time with the same result - still getting killed close to FOB Manhatten. There is no sequence of Mr. Simmons dying either. :( -
Very important issues

I think it is okay when new people discover the "pc gaming niche". But they should in some way accept and understand that pc games should be in general directed towards a more mature audience who in general looks for more complex games then those games that can be found on consoles and played within 5 minutes. And because of the very complexity of simulators (dynamic AI and battlefields, complex emulations, modelling etc.) they should consider some "faults" which will be fixed as soon as possible or when the willing group of developers take note of them. And as everybody should have noticed by the many forum posts and stickies, the developers seem to be willing to improve and enhance the quality of the game. There is no reason to cast a slur on the developers just because the game will not run on the first try. As a pc system has so many possible configurations, it is hard to see or to tell, where the real problem can be found. So tweaking is always a part of pc gaming, today maybe even more then in the last decades (when there were games like Falcon, Longbow, F15 etc.) since the modern games become more and more complex (or the other way around on the mainstream market). So, I have nothing against newcomers, but they should not blame others (maybe for their own mistakes) first. Instead they should try to solve the problems independently and learn from it. There is always a solution until some progress news arrives. -
How do i get a AI character to get ammo? (Badlands)
Jimmy the Saint replied to mils's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Great! Thanks Trapper, I always wondered why my teammates just reloaded their weapon magazines instead of their whole equipment with the "6-Rearm" command. :) -
I have to say that there are really some interesting things going on in this mission. I was able to complete almost everything in this mission. I even got ambushed by a group of NAPA militia in pickup jeeps.

Hey, those were great games too! :) -
There is no logic involved in doing this. Anyway I'm still with the overall arguments that have been expressed by Frederf and others.

Harvest Red Strategy, spoiler for some
Jimmy the Saint replied to monark's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Oh actually if you run the wrong route through the city, you can be confronted with some mean enemy ambushes! The sniper himself can be hard to be spotted at times or you might get killed on arrival - it depends on the angle and place which you are arriving. -
yup yup yup - the more option we have to adjust the game to our likings, the better it is of course.
