  1. This has nothing to do with corrupted savefiles and nothing to do with game or scenario updates. These SP stop recognizing the existence of savefiles instantly and consistently, without any game or mission updates. It happened three times today with one mission. Every time I had a CTD, the issue appeared again. I started save-scumming after each shutdown of Arma, and the savefiles are 100% fine. This proves that there is zero corruption going on. This is a problem inside ArmA itself and its reading of workshop files. And because of the nature of the glitch, the devs should really be on this. Using latest dev branch.
  2. AGM is open source (Not sure about CSE). So any white knight can step in and provide stopgap fixes.
  3. By the standards of most games, neither AGM nor CSE qualify as total conversion mods either. In almost all cases, 'total conversion' implies a mod that offers a complete new game mode, where few of the vanilla game's assets are used. With AGM and CSE, you are left with the same old NATO vs CSAT missions and units, for the most part. You just have a great new suite of realistic features to enhance that original gameplay. With RHS you have all new units, with enough content to never touch a vanilla mission or Armaverse setting again, but only a few fully-fledged added features. Neither constitute a total conversion in the usual meaning of the words. The contest had no mods that fit the bill 100%, and the category must in all fairness be interpreted loosely. So grow up and stop whining about it.
  4. And now you need to build your own models for the guns, right? I would love it if the ACE arty module taught you where all the proper elevation and azimuth nobs were on the sight units, etc. Then players could actually brag that they know how to do it in real life. I aim ACE2 mortars in my dreams sometime.
  5. Will ACE 3 meet or surpass ACE 2's vehicle damage and armor system? That's the part I just adored. You have all the MLODs for the old tanks, now, right? Shouldn't that open up new possibilities? I hope that thin-skinned vehicles get better damage models too. An RPG hit should not be certain death to an offroad.
  6. Hmmn, I don't know what's going on, then. I've been keeping up to date on dev branch builds, TPW and CBA. But now I get an error message on startup that TPW requires CBA's event handlers, and then the mod doesn't work. CBA is definitely loaded and active in the Expansions menu. This happened with my weeks-old version of the mods, and after a clean install. It's likely CBA's fault, but there's not really much room for error here. You put da PBO in da folder thingy and enable it, just like for thousands of mods for the past decade. Where's the failure point?

    Anyone having trouble with RHS and the newest dev branch build? I start up the game, load Virtual Reality, and place the default unit (changed by RHS to be an American AA Bradley). Instant CTD.
  8. Has TPW stopped supporting or being compatible with dev branch at any point? Sorry if that's already been answered in the thread somewhere, but it's 282 pages long.
  9. Oh, I see. So the close-by sonic crack has been removed for the moment. When I was testing, all the rounds were within a meter or so of my head, for sure.
  10. I assume the current state of affairs with supersonic cracks is a WiP? Just remember that a sonic crack cannot be represented by ho-hum, underwhelming sounds. This is a bullet breaking the sound barrier. It's as loud as the gunshot itself. It hurts your ears. It almost just killed you.

The proof of foul play is that the media used their TELEPHONES and their INTERNET to write the news as it happened? Too fast? My god. Please take a second, stand back and take a look at the absurd lengths your mind is going to, just in order to avoid living in reality. So the western media were all warned through secret channels that Right Sector was going to kill Nemtsov, and prepared their articles in advance. Then the instant the trigger was pulled, BBC and the Guardian and Fox News and Kiev Post all received the go-ahead from their masters so that the obituaries could be published instantly. And this is proof of the provocation. This is exactly what you just said. But I understand your confusion to a certain extent. You cannot, will not believe that any media outlet would publish an article without letting their government overseers look it over first. BBC wouldn't have had time to fax the article to Psaki! Unless she wrote it for them ahead of time. Aha! Because when you have a weak, disorganized movement, the best way to make it stronger is to kill one of the only leaders, making the rank-and-file fear that they are next. Right. Because Western security agencies are morons, constantly using terrorist violence to make sure their interests are never achieved.

    The regime bears full responsibility for the results of its extremist propaganda and hate-speech. After all, how can the government earnestly tell its 'patriots' that it is a crime to strike down a national traitor, a fifth columnist and friend of fascists? Someone carried Putin's ideology to its logical conclusion. Most of the state-owned media and most government spokespeople could be prosecuted under Russia's own extremism laws. But that's nothing new. When has Russian state power been anything but a criminal enterprise in the past century?
  13. Sometime in the last few patches I have lost the ability to switch to a different playable unit after death. The Team Switch button is still there along with the Restart and Abort button, but clicking it does nothing? Does anyone else have this bug? I do not exaggerate when I say that it absolutely destroys the foundation of SP DIY editor-based gameplay.
  14. I agree, Law-Giver. Knowing that I could loot a medkit from a civilian car, I shot out an Offroad's tires from around 200m away. The driver bailed, and I ran forward to claim my prize. But before either I or the driver had taken a dozen steps, car and driver vanished before my eyes. This is very typical. I've also started playing around with the skirmish module a bit. I suggest removing the attack helicopters from Blufor's support, because a pair of them show up every few minutes and wreck absolutely everything. Even if OPFOR has AA vehicles and half a dozen MANPADS. There's not much point playing when all the enemies are slaughtered with 30mm before you ever see them.

    AI blind now?

    That sounds weird. I actually just tested AI spotting and engagement ranges in the latest dev branch. No AI mods running, just TMR. At 400-500m even low skill infantry without optics (Somalian pirates from Aggressors mods) will quickly spot enemies that are firing at them in their field of vision. And their reaction time to incoming bullets is instantaneous.

  17. Seriously, devs, this should be #1 on your priority list. It's such a tiny, insignificant thing, but you just flat-out broke gameplay for half your customers.

    Got it. But once you change the zeroing, you can't get it back to 440m. This makes it seem like a bug. Also you have to press Up to get the zeroing go down, to 100m.

    Is it intended behavior that the default zeroing of the AK-74M is 440m? And then when you increase the zeroing, it goes to 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 500m, etc.

    That video is hilarious! He looks so surprised when the window doesn't break at the first hit! And then you can see the moment where they chicken out and decide not to shoot it open. I assume no one was yelling at them, but I can't hear the audio on this computer.

    Smarter tanks script

    In my mind the biggest problem with AFV AI is the tendency to move like an infantryman and charge the enemy to shoot them at point blank range. Without fail, this brings tanks within range of every handheld AT weapon and exposes their flanks. Could the mod change their movement behavior (when there are no Move waypoints) to make them stop and lob HE from 800m instead of going in for a bizarre and suicidal knife-fight?
  24. Great! I can confirm that it's working. The return of the annotated config file is helpful too. You might want to rename it to make it clear that is is just a dummy/example file, and that editing it will have no effect.
  25. Hmmn, in that case I'm having an unrelated problem. I have now installed the mod both manually and with the .bat, performing a clean wipe each time. CBA is latest version. But TPW_FALL is broken and I don't get a mod startup pop-up when starting a game, despite what my .hpp file says. But TPW has always worked flawlessly in the past. I can't imagine what's wrong. Maybe the new dev build broke something?
