  1. they could at least have the EOD bot be able to go up stairs...

Try using the boost button when on stairs, or at least use it to take a run up, then it works! Its pretty funny sneaking up on someone with it who hasnt seen you, then welding them to death :p its not realistic by any means but its a fun game to play!

  2. Thing is I live outside the US currently' date=' and it tells me it is 50 GBP. I guess ill order it from somewhere else eventually but I really would like to use origin.[/quote']

Damn where was that price? I paid £34.99 for it on release day

  3. I'm really enjoying BF3, I love Arma but its good to be having a bit of fun on BF without all the serious sim side for a bit of a change. You can see my stats on Trickster1982 on battlelog if your interested, I'm not brilliant but I've had some good sniper kills (I play good recon, not camping) and I've unlocked loads of gadgets for the support role, and I guess maybe down to Arma I dont play like a hyperactive 12 year old rushing around either so I do try to employ some tactics and support my squad :)

  4. Fantastic demo guys, well done to all involved! Wonder if any of the CM guys have jealously played this :p

    Just one thing

how do you complete the Seize Montignac mission? In the original game after fighting in Provins, I always pulled back to the woods nearby before the helicopter could take me out, but in the demo my squad tries to take on the BMP in Provins & gets wiped out there, and when I escape to the woods the mission doesnt time out like it did originally, instead the BMP keeps circling around & letting off volleys of shot at me deep in the woods, not sure if I'm missing something or doing something wrong? I'm assuming the next mission is the same as in OFP when you wake up in the woods surrounded by your dead squad...

  5. Now I finally own Arrowhead I thought I'd check for a Bardosy campaign and I'm not disappointed! Great fun to play as always, I'm on the mission where you have to attack three villages so far, and on the last one an AH64 joins in the fight and starts raking the enemies on the ground, great to watch! Well done on another good campaign sir!

  6. I've had an interest in the military since I was a kid, I made different choices though when I left school and didnt go down that route although sometimes I think I maybe should have done. I went through the selection process with the TA just over a year ago which I really enjoyed, but unfortunately due to a blip of depression/OCD in my early 20's I was rejected on medical grounds. Anyway I was told that I may be able to try again after 12 months as it is now well over 5 years since I last had treatment so at 29 I'm going to try again this year! :) Arma 2 has had no influence on this, but I am interested in all the hardware in the game, as well as that feeling that the game is a lot more realistic than nearly all other military games out there (not that a game will ever come close to real combat)

  7. Hi guys, is there a way of re-downloading the last version of the ACE mod for standard Arma 2 through six updater? Without realising I was going wrong I tried to update through six recently now when I play the game a lot of ACE features dont work properly, and I get a lot of error messages, obviously because I dont have arrowhead. I've been away from Arma 2 for a while so things have changed without me realising!

  8. There is no 100% correlation between playing violent games and becoming a derranged murderer... In all the cases where people have gone on to shoot others there have been histories of mental illness and other psychological problems.

So ban people with mental illness from playing violent games? but then comes the point of how do you vet that? Also some people display no outward signs of mental illness until that one day when they just snap, so how do you account for them? I play violent games myself so I'm not saying they should be banned outright, but to say there is no link whatsoever would be naive

  9. Left 4 dead 2 is probably the most violent game I've played, mainly due to the realistic damage models on the zombies, limbs fly off, heads explode, guts spill out of stomach wounds etc. Its a fun game, but it definitely shouldnt be played by anyone under 15 because its extremely violent & the comedy aspect of the game still doesnt detract from how brutal it is.

  10. Im starting to get really irritated by all this online activation & DRM rubbish, its really sucking the life out of PC gaming! For instance the other night I wanted a quick game of Left for dead 2 as I had half an hour free, but when I tried to load the game I got a message saying steam needed to update but "couldnt connect at this time" and I didnt even get the option to play in offline mode, and the server didnt come back on for several hours! My internet connection was fine so the problem was with steam. I have a feeling Mafia 2 will suffer the same problems, if Steam is down for whatever reason then you cant play the game you have paid cold, hard cash for, and its a joke!

  11. 11 hours is fine by me, being 28 years old I dont really have the time to put in over 100 hours on a game like I did in my late teens with Final Fantasy 7 & the like, life keeps getting in the way! But im looking forward to losing myself in Mafia 2 for a while, I'll probably spread those 11 hours over a couple of weeks anyway :)

  12. Oh, we got plenty of those in here.

Here's one standing in "parola armored museum"

Some of these were used in the film "Tali Ihantala" I think...

The film is bloody great btw...

    :)

Nice! I keep meaning to see that film!

We do however have this rare beast in the UK which at present is the only one in the world that actually runs! (I've heard talk that the Tiger from the aberdeen proving grounds in the US will soon be a runner though) Heres me with the big cat at Bovington anyway :)
