    ah sorry wow, i was being dumb. made a typo in the mod line. got em all working now. aside from all the missing/floating buildings the maps are really cool! i like the desert feel

    a couple small things that would be cool for future releases. MOAR acu guys, using the regular USMC bodies for example. for the SEALS, use the force recon (non assault dudes) models, and give them the woodland texture since the FR guys already look a lot like seals, they just need the camo swap. and idk if this one is possible but give the medic class the red cross icon so u can tell he's a medic in your squad. that would rock. :D ive been using these all day and they look great!

    ok so if i dl all the files off the server link and put them in folders like the instructions say i can play all those arma 1 maps in arma 2? sorry im new to this, just trying to understand exactly. thnx :D ---------- Post added at 03:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 AM ---------- ok it almost worked. i downloaded everything and extracted to the proper folders. however on launch it says i need "ofp compatibility addon" then when i go to the editor i have several utes listed and a chernarus. the utes load as utes but when i exit it says i cant play/edit because its dependent on dlc that has been deleted.mapname wtf??? how can i load these maps :mad:

    yup arma 2 runs fine, i use the winxp thing. it seems silly that it doesnt just work regardless but arma 1 refuses to work at all. so no buy and therefore no arma 1 files
  12. hi i was wondering if there is an easy way to switch what hat a character is wearing using the init line and also if someone has a list of the technical helmet/hat names. for example if i wanted to place the assault rifleman helmet on a team leader or put a marpat boonie on a rifleman etc thanks in advance

    it doesnt run on my comp. i downloaded the demo and it wouldnt run. found many people with the same prob. there was no video just a black screen. not gonna buy a game i cant play. its bad enough arma 2 has the 8gb ram texture problem :(

    well i know how to do that put setface "Face#" in the init line of your character. with Face# being the name of the face or camo scheme. however changing helmets is something i cant figure out and i hope someone can help! :confused:

    is it possible to give yourself the helmet worn by the assault grenadier/rifleman? you know the tan one with the goggles on top. i see it's used by some of the models but it's not one of the scripting options. thanks edit: well what im really trying to do is this: in the 1st pic you can see the USMC unarmed soldier model is the same as the merc guard except for the camo. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q295/macmeister92/arma22009-07-2118-48-32-39.jpg the goal is to have the assault rifleman model use the camo of the merc guard essentially creating a (not very accurate) US army soldier, until dedicated army dudes are made. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q295/macmeister92/arma22009-07-2118-53-56-34.jpg ^^here you can see the merc guard with the assault rifleman

    awesome! is it just me or is the merc guard (the one with the red beret and small xm8) wearing ACU camo?? is it possible to make a FR assault rifleman and grenadier with the ACU in place of the MARPAT? that would be really amazing!

  20. hey im pretty new to editing and im having trouble getting this to work. i did what it says in the readme file and ive got the menu to come up and can submit a mission. however the howitzer never fires, it just says "check range on target???" could someone explain exactly how im supposed to use this? is it similar to the arty support in the manhattan sp mission? thanks

    Ok, so I was messing around in the Editor exploring Chernarus and I found this really tall smoke stack with a ladder on it, so I climbed up to the top. Out of curiosity I wondered what BIS had designed the inside to look like so I looked in the top of the tower and to my surprise I found this very disturbing Santa (Satan?) with a bird beak.     How do I order a helicopter around?

    i had wondered this too but figured it out thru guessing a bunch. press M to go to your map. then press space while pointed at the location u want to get to. go to communication and then select the helo transport support option and click a few times, and it then designates where you're pointing as the LZ. then the helo takes off :)
