    If you see the history of civil conflicts, there could be anyone from every nation on both sides. Here's a video about US guy who fights on Ukranian side. Really I don't understand what can make a man to go to another country to fight a civil war. Addiction?

    Hey, I wasn't speaking about the photographers. I wasn't even speaking about journalists. I was speaking about media. :-)

    I understand your opinion. In your world it is accepted to believe media. In mine it's not. And I think they are representing both sides of the conflict just to be able to say "We represent both sides of the conflict". Actually they show only one side. My idea is you can't have a 100% picture from every media you have (including Internet). At the same time even 99% is not enough, because this 1% can contain the information that can turn the whole picture upside down. And modern media are able to show you less then a half of the picture and they can choose on their own what half it would be. Yes, they make very professional product that is a pleasure to watch. Good quality video, sound, nice music. First class! But it gives you nothing except the illusion that you now know what happens there. You don't. And I don't know too. Why do we need them, then? Everybody can take pictures and make videos, post it without any tragic music on the background and this will be much more real life thing than things Vice News do.

    Come on, I didn't say Russian media are better. They are the same, actually, except the forces standing behind them. And they also are step behind in terms of methods. Russian media is more like shouting thing, pointing fingers straight if you like, while NATO's (let's call them that way to avoid listing all the countries) media are more into small detail that are carefully chosen for you to create the Right Big Picture. NATO's media would never shout something like "Russia is an enemy!". They will give you a small detail here, a part of the interview there, bla-bla-bla and pretend it's up to you to decide, but decision you think you make is just an illusion. Watching this you have no choice actually. Because every normal man would consider this a Russian threat! As I said earlier, it's not so important what do you show, it's more important how you mix it and what impression the final mix will create. Your own opinion is unfortunatelly a good example. That's clearly describes the impression that was created by media in your mind. "Putin must leave", "Russia is a threat!" and so on. And now you translate it to the world in this forum. That how it works. Or do you really think Putin, Obama, Merkel or Hollande are on they own to decide? There are huge spiderwebs of interests around any source of power in the world. And if you think it's one man who is responsible for everything bad that happens, you really need to change something in your vision. To be honest I would say that Russian media now do the same in the opposite direction, blaming West in everything. And this makes me angry no less. Because I prefer making friends instead of making the enemies. P.S. If Vice News were really independent (which I think is not possible, while every media in the world serves someone's interests, because everybody needs money), they could find out who really stands behind the current Ukraine's situation. That would be a really honest journalist job! But now it's more like showing the killed man's body in details instead of telling about the police investigation and posting the suspect's photo.

    Guvernments suxx, true! So Medias are too! I've watched this ViceNews... don't see any difference with any other media. They are making the same partial picture. The main thing that became obvious in this conflict is that any media (no matter if they are US, UK, Ukraine or Russian or whatever) are not speaking from their own point of view, but they pretend they speak from the side of Good! Instead of showing facts they evaluate and condemn manipulating video feeds and interview cuts. And that makes me mad, because I see that they are not showing the whole picture, but only the part that corresponds with current political trends. And it makes me double mad when I see this weapon (and modern media is a weapon) pointed at my country. Guys, relax. There will be no WWIII!!! For most of us! :-)))

    Yeah it's a common problem. And it all comes from fears. It's always more comfortable to convince yourself that you know everything (even if it's wrong) than to accept the fact you know nothing. West is good, East is bad. Everything is in right place. The only problem is that people are dying. But who cares? Don't you know that T-90 is called a flying tank? Boooo!!!! Evil Russian humanitarian convoy!!! (310 kB)

    Thanks for the support, mate! Actually, there's nothing to argue about, because in fact we know nothing. Terrabytes of videos and photos over Internet actually have zero information. And anybody can do this kind of proof in 5 minutes in any part of the world. The guy who writes angry posts from Donetsk can actually sit somewhere in Colorado. The crying girl complaining that her husband was killed by separatists or military could be a professional actress. But she also could be not. How can you tell? Tons of this crap is made only for one purpose. To create emotions. And emotions are enemies to facts, because as a human you interpret facts through emotions. There's a information war out there. And it's pity to see that it came here to the BI forums.

    I wish I never saw this topic. Common sense is leaving this world. :( When U.S.S.R. fell down in 1991 we thought it would be the end of all wars. Now the war is knocking in our door. Shells from Ukraine are falling on our land. But it's not guns and tanks that make all of this possible. It's just fake news and youtube videos. Somehow it happened that you don't need any evidence to prove something any more. Crimea wants to go back to Russia, blame Russia. Some guys in Eastern Ukraine don't want to accept new govenment, blame Russia. A plane shot down in the military zone, blame Russia. ISIS fights back in Iraq, blame Russia, HAMAS fires rockets on Israel, blame Russia. We have no evidence it's Russia, blame Russia! And some guys are even crazy enough to say we bomb our own land in Rostov. How far you gonna go, mates?

  12. I have the same issue with 1.63. Can't connect to my own dedicated server on the same PC!!! I get "Session lost" ingame and in the server log. It has become a bad tradition to "fix" things that are workin'. :-(( Have anybody find a solution to this?
  13. I'm working on this. ;-)

    Russians

    I have failed to find a solution to this. There seems to be a conflict with other mods that also have custom radioprotocols, because settings in cfgVoices are global, so the last loaded mod overrides previous ones. The easiest way to make player speak Russian is to create an Identity in description.ext with Male01RUS, Male02RUS, Male03RUS speaker and give this Identity to player on mission start.

    Found the bug. Old sud_tgp_a was used in AK105 versions with attached silencer. arifle_SUD_AK105_Krechet_S arifle_SUD_AK105_ACO_S arifle_SUD_AK105_S will be fixed with a next update. Thank you!

    Thank you, guys! I'll check about these errors. When the mod was just starting TGP-A item had a name sud_tgp_a, but was renamed to muzzle_sud_tgp_a. Maybe some unit still has this item in config.

    Thank you, guys, for the feedback. Dealing with bugs in such big mods as Russians and EVW would have been impossible without your help! Fixing sounds in EVW is my next priority at the moment. Just give me some time! :-)

    Ok, guys! The 3.61 update is ready. (Someone is just running faster then the train :-P) Download from Armaholic What the hell is wrong with bikeys? (AND WTF???) ---------- Post added at 02:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:09 PM ---------- This is because of an error in Ammobox that I have missed. Will be fixed in the next update. Sorry.

    The bug with language could happen if you use the developer's branch. In this case create the identity in description.ext with russian language for the mission and give the player this identity. What do you mean by activating SUD_Plane? You can find it in the editor under Objects (Training) -> Static Plane. Place it in the sky, and place player in there. Something like _plane modelToworld [0,0,-4] should work. Remember that Arma3 automatically engages the HALO script on heights above 100m, so you will need to place switchMove "" command after a second of the mission start to prevent player from flying inside the plane. After that you will be able to walk in the plane and jump out. Didn't I mention the new NVG I made in the readme? :-))) The NVG I use is called SUD_NVG. It features new reticle and is not displayed on the model when not activated. Sadly, BIS made this config option depending only on nightvision, not depending on headgear. You should use command: this unassignItem "SUD_NVG";

Have fun! Download (~440Mb)
  24. Cheers, everyone! I would like to present my AK-74M 1.1 pack. It was already posted at Armaholic, but never here. The point was to create a pack of modern Russian Army weapons with all new OA features like sight adjustment, iron sight switching, flashlights, lasers and TI. There are 54 models of different AK configurations (w/out grenade launchers, flashlights/lasers, different sights/scopes). There's also an ammobox (RU AK74M Ammobox) and an optional replacement file for Russian side. Addon is signed for MP. Link to addon page at Armaholic.com
  25. Am I the only one who's reading BeefaloBart's posts like a book. :-))) It's very interesting! Why not? :-) No, just create a new config and pack it to a separate pbo. This would be enough.
