  1. Wow, thanks for the reply, that's actually the most informative reply I have received on this forum, really appreciate it.

    On a side note, I have been using the "move to" command:

    I select the helicopter, using F-key and then use the map or space bar to issue a "move to" to get the helicopter to move to my position. Which works, but the issue I have, that I am trying to resolve is the helicopter flies to me and keeps going in the same direction (ie: it follows the travel line to my "move to" point and then keeps going in that general direction not stopping). To fix, I issue another "move to" and it does the same thing, it will turn around and fly through the point and then continue on in that direction. This is endless.

    Therefore, I was hoping that a waypoint could be added for "search and destroy", that would cause the desired result of the helicopter flying to me and stopping to hover over me on the "move to" point, and not continuing on out into the horizon as usual.

    Any assistance on achieving this result would be greatly appreciated.


  2. Wait what did you figure out, I would like to know how to do this too, step by step.

    I am trying to play superpower, but i cant figure out how to set waypoints for helos.

    First off the commander is the AI, I am just running my own squad.

    I order a helo into my squad, and I want to set a search and destroy waypoint above me to watch for an eliminate threats in my vicinity; any help?


  3. Anyone have this issue in game:

    1) I disable an enemy tank

    2) enemy crew disembarks

    3) get in enemy vehicle

    After one completes the following, if the vehicles mobility is disabled. You are able to fire on AI enemies from it without repercussion. AI will still view the vehicle as friendly to them. So you can just sit there and mow the AI enemy down, until you run out of ammo.

    Now this changes; if you repair the enemy vehicle, it then becomes hostile towards the enemy and the AI will finally engage you.

    Anyone else come across this?


  4. Is there a way to get an rts view camera angle in high command?

    For example, can I enter high command and disconnect the follow camera from my unit and move about the land giving high command orders much like you do on the map screen.

    There was a video a while back for high command (Link below see time=2:25) in which the presenters did this, but maybe it was from a debug mode. I was really hoping I could do this in retail.

  5. I like this mode a great deal, and I am new to the series. I am basically playing against the me vs. AI.

    One thing I noticed is that the AI do not seem to engage targets in choppers? They will buy them and fly around but I don't see them shooting at anything.

    Am I missing something?

    Also will ARMA 2 modules be imported into this? Like medical, artillery, etc, though I am not very interested in the civilian or animal modules.

  6. But is it the grass ie: being in the grass, or is it just being on the area in which the grass is populated.

    I would like to see this revisited with grass off, to see if its really the grass or that the AI is programmed to react like the grass is there. With the grass disabled will the runway results be replicated, or will the grass area be treated as if the grass were being rendered anyway.

Perfect thanks, I didn't like in arma 1, that the AI didn't seem to take over the responsibilities of playing the other side, and we would basically play out against the default resistance in the cities. I wanted that final clash against the other bases forces fighting for control of the island.
