  1. I have to agree. I had a lot of trouble merely installing ArmA2 (it wouldn't run). And even now after solving that problem it is slow to load up.

Today I tried multiplayer. I have a 2mb connection and the server ping of 32. Under conditions where games such as Crysis multiplayer will run smoothly ArmA2 is a complete mess. The frame rate is horrendously slow and unplayable. Often the frames simply stop and the screen is left frozen on a pixilated mess.

I am completely behind BI on their ambitious vision and amazed at the potential of ArmA2. But I am disappointed that ArmA2 hasn't yet lived up to this potential. I hope that in the not too distant future something can be done to help gamers enjoy BI's efforts.

The question is whether poor performance online can be solved by the game being patched? Or whether we need to upgrade our hardware and internet connections?

  2. I am a UK user who cannot get the game to run at all after first, second, third installation etc. I've emailed 505 Games customer support we'll see what they suggest. I'm intalling it for the fourth time now. Has anyone else had the same problem and a solution?

I have noticed the intallation does hang a bit with "(not responding)" on the window. But eventually it does finish and puts the game icon on the desktop. I click the icon and then a windows message "ArmA 2 has stopped working" appears. No joy. I've been looking forward to this game and I'm very disappointed :-(
