  1. Let me also say that it's great to see a fine reviewer like Tom Chick come and visit us mortals in these forums.

Ha ha, well, that's awfully kind of you. A game like ArmA 2 really does benefit from having a community like this. I didn't play a lot of ArmA and it's been a loooong time since Operation Flashpoint, so a lot of things that are going to be familiar to you guys are completely new to me. Forums are a real boon for a game this ambitious and complex.

    Especially since I don't have a manual! :)

  2. So I'm trying to figure out how to play ArmA II without the benefit of a manual. The boot camp tutorials help. However, there's a lot of info missing on how to best use the squad commands and the communications menu.

For instance, I'd like to be able to give my driver a series of waypoints, since he needs all the help he can get when it comes to staying on the road. Can someone walk me through how to do this? I can easily enough give him a "Move there" destination way across the map, but we'll usually end up with a flipped vehicle tangled up in a mess of trees or buildings somewhere.

(Also, bonus question: How do I repair vehicles? I've got a wheeled APC with a couple of blown tires. Calling for a repair truck from the support menu returns some sort of "response not found" debug text.)

  3. Placebo, even those of us with review copies provided by BI didn't get a manual. So in the case where BI is the digital download providers, can I complain to them here? :)

That said, I can understand why they don't provide the manual online, although it's a bit silly to figure that pirated versions of the game won't also include PDFs of the manual.

  4. Hey all,

I've "suspended" my progress in the campaign and I'd like to resume from that point on another computer. Does anyone know where ArmA 2 stores the file and what the file would be called?

Also, I'll be transferring the save from a WinXP computer to a Vista computer. Anyone know if that's going to raise any thorny issues with moving the file?
