    Co-op Campaign: APEX PROTOCOL

Well, I wouldn't. But then again, I was on the forefront of criticising it. Someone who already liked the original might actually welcome the improvements. Not sure how big the crowd might be though.

    This Game is Violent.....

Thanks! Uhm, I don't know the details, but I personally wouldn't mind such politically incorrect stuff. I feel if carefully used in the narrative, a torchure scene can have quite an impact. I can understand why the thread was locked though; it's BI's IP and forums after all and they dictate the rules. Though torturing is certainly nothing new in games (and movies, books, television, etc.). Latest example I can think of is GTA V's torture mission.

Woah, what happened? Am I late to the party?

    Mission Picture

Might be. Still a bit annoying, certainly worth fixing.
  6. To be fair, they tried to complete the story arc in Apex Protocol (the co-op campaign that came with the addon). It's not brilliant though.

We keep having this issue as well. Picture shows up fine in Scenarios but when selected from the menu opened via #missions admin command, the error pops up that the image cannot be loaded. Seems to be a bug.

They could fix it by adjusting the specular maps for these textures. It's possible, just look at community-made weapons and items. RHS ones for example. Or compare Toadie's AK-12 to the Apex AK-12. It's like day and night.

That's not how the internet works. ;)

I don't think anyone in their right mind would care if a foreigner has an accent.^^ I was more referring to satire programmes which tend to mock different religious beliefs but usually refrain from outright insulting someone's faith. And it's of course also fair use of freedom of speech to criticise this satire. I don't mind anyone coming here really, quite the contrary, as long as the existing law is followed. Good luck on your veterinary thing!

Good point. Western Europe is a good place to migrate to: 1. For highly qualified people or people who can fill certain niche jobs. (Geriatric nurses in Germany for example.) 2. People who can deal with our set of beliefs and way of life. Freedom of speech and religion for example seems to be a conflicting value for certain religious or otherwise extremistic people. When it comes down to Islamic immigrants in particular, things like the Mohammed cartoons or satire about Islam (and other religions) might offend some. These people don't have to like that but they have to accept the fact that this is protected by freedom of speech. Or, pardon my harsh words, they can go fuck right off because they are definitely wrong here.
  12. Thanks, chaps! I now went with the 10€ PS subscription. I will give it a thorough try over the next year and then re-evaluate.

No surprise here about the election results. It's eastern Germany, MVP offers virtually no perspectives for young and/or well-educated people, and we've got the whole refugee thing as an amplifier for long existing problems. I'm actually more curious if the AFD can prevail since they're now part of the legislation. Based on their programme, I don't see much of a future for this party. Same shit, different colour. With a hint of far right views of course. At some point voters will realise the AFD doesn't actually have any viable alternatives and lacks fresh ideas just as much as the older parties do.

It's the light reflection mostly. I get the feeling that was actually a design edition. But the more I compare mod weapons from RHS or Toadie to vanilla weapons, the more annoying this shinyness becomes. At the moment, the AK12 is almost unusable. It looks like it got a chrome finish. Totally sticks out in the jungle. A shame since it's such a nice model. Even the MX, which I guess would be made of some light plastic in real life, shines bright under certain light conditions.
  16. Hey guys, quick compatibility update. Now CSAT's snow vehicles should show in the correct colours again. CSAT Snow Tigers Version: 1.06 Changelog 1.06 - 04.09.2016 FIXED: Most vehicles would have vanilla textures.Download Dropbox v1.06 Steam Workshop v1.06

Unfortunately, yes. I wasn't able to implement further content and desparately needed fixes yet. It's completely on my end. :(

I think it's my 3.4 Ghz (3.8 turbo) CPU that's limiting me. The GTX 980 rarely goes above 50% load and Arma 3 stays mostly below 2GB RAM usage. I really can't wait to see how future titles will utilise Enfusion. Hopefully, we can expect some better hardware usage.
  19. Yup, that's my usual source. I was just kind of expecting this from a subscription model: a constant flow of premium content. Also, these commercial sites seem to have way better SEO so they keep cluttering my google searches.

I've found the performance to be okay, with decent scripting and caching mechanics I get in both SP and MP above 30 FPS with short drops to 20-25 at times. (Running ultra in 1440p, 3-5K view distance, on 3.4-3.8 Ghz Intel Quad Core with hyper threading, 8GB RAM, and GTX 980.) But it's certainly not brilliant. I've recently noticed some ugly LOD anomalies. I.e. I'm looking through a scope or binoculars for a few seconds and when I switch back to normal view it takes a second or more until the enivronment around me is properly rendered again. Similar for these small green plants popping up in front of me.
  21. Same for me. When I'm thinking about subscription models I kind of want more for my money than just the base software. I understand that one always gets the latest PS version but I'm also looking for samples, materials, stock images etc. Often I'm looking for specific patterns, brushes, or high quality and tileable camouflage samples and all google gives me are these commercial stock images which come with price tags. I'm not sure if adobe runs similar services and whether or not the basic subscription grants access to these resources. Would be a selling point for me though. I did enjoy my PS trial though. Once I got the keys sorted out, it was a relatively good workflow. And no crashes or performance issues. The PSDs I created from my XCFs even consume less space on my hard drive. Interesting. But do you know if it can read in GIMP's XCF format? I'd be migrating most of my existing work to the new tool. And PS for example is far too arrogant to allow us GIMP peasants to just read in XCFs. (I mean why would they help smoothing the transition for 10€/month? Duh.) However, GIMP can export to PSD, only layer groups are merged into single layers. A bit extra work but it does function.
  22. Yes, it reminds me of winrar. Everyone has it but no one actually paid for it. :D I mean, I don't think I'd need the full CS. There's a 10 EUR/month option aiming at photographers that offers PS plus Lightroom. (Stand-alone access to a single application is still 20 EUR/month.) Not brilliant but legal at least. And it might be a good occasion to take my old DSLR for a spin again. Still thinking about freeware though. Has anyone tried Paint.NET?
  23. Thanks for your input, greatly appreciated. Yes, I've been experimenting with 4096x4096 as I created a custom camo with very fine structures. I was hoping to prevent it from becoming blurry in-game by cranking up the resolution which worked to some extend. Similar goes for vehicle textures which look really ugly from up close. (Even the vanilla ones look shite at times.) Also, I'm playing on ultra settings and in 1440p, and since I mostly create stuff for myself, I can somewhat benefit from higher resolutions. However, I think GIMP has issues allocating enough memory. When I have multiple 2048x2048 textures opened, it causes the same problems. It wasn't a problem when my textures were just four or five layers thick. But the more I experiment with different materials, filters, details etc. the more it's becoming a problem. I'm curious about these procedural layer styles. How do they work? And how do you tell the programme how to allign / tile / turn the camo? I tend to logically group layers or merge stuff that belongs together. However, I keep things separated as much as I can for re-usability or if I want to change colours of some details later on.

It looks like an empty store room. Without a bathroom or back office, but otherwise it's fine.
  25. Great if it's working for you. But unfortunately, it's not available for purchase anymore. I wouldn't mind using an older image editing programme as long as it doesn't have the problems GIMP seems to have right now. But adobe, being the EA of commercial software, apparently does not sell older versions of PS / CS. I honestly don't know how I could "manage my layers" better. I've tried tweaking GIMP's options but after a certain image complexity, say ~30+ layers in various groups in resolutions above 2048x2048, it keeps passing out. Mostly on exports, sometimes when performing other actions. Also, the slow performance makes things take much longer than they have to.
