  1. Well a.. this may sound bit scary, but IMO this game should go into "globalisation" stuff, like most games do today.. BIS could host small network of servers, which you login in before playing online games, have various crap like chat channels and so on, and importantly - upload download update addons on the fly , before entering server requiring them, (and Arma without addons feels very dull), also browse/download huge list of scenarious , etc

    This would make it very user friendly, and more casual players would play this


  2. Another "good vs evil" war.. We all know History, and dirty politic games USA was playing from WW2 , up to now - to provoke and get into wars for their own imperialistic interests and domination.

    Why they cant have one? (Israel have nuclear weapons from 1970's or so, and without any declaration and international laws)

    : Iran is very peacefull, they hadnt made any wars for hundereds of years, just living their life. The war in 1980's with Iraq was defence. The "threat to stability" , i think you refer to fact Iran criticize Israel's politics

    proofs? Even if that would be true, its kinda normal , remember Cold War?

    After installing 1.05 , graphics arent rendered anymore in Arma II for me, just black screen, with target crosshair floating in middle.

    I deleted all that Arma II folder, redownloaded from Steam, still same result

    I got old Geforece 8800 GTS (320 mb version) , and kinda old video drivers , but new drivers are for new cards anyway, should I upgrade them? Or this is not driver problem, but some kind of common issue being worked on?

  4. Downloaded package from AddonSync , one of those "Yoma" servers.

    Placed that big x folder into my Arma2 directory

    Launched it with -mod=x\caa1;x\oac\oac_core

    I dont see any new worlds in editor , but new worlds in Armory. In attempt to play there , Arma 2 crashes with smth like "failed load map sachrani.wrp" , something like this

    Guess somthing is wrong here :(


  5. I strongly agree ! This guy got right point. I want to see limbs cutted with 20 mm gunfire , guts coming out of bloody crack in stomach, realistic looking death agony animations, like you open cannon fire from gunship at infantry man below , and after smoke coming out you see him crawling without legs (just a bloody left-overs with rags instead them) , and you say to yourself "aha.. you attempted to my precious life with Stinger, now you paying for this, how you like this, huh?" Also good feature would be totaly splatered bodies.. I mean after heavy artilery, you see left-overs of body hanging on sime kind of tree branches or bushes .. and you couldnt think it was body, you think "it looks like a damn pieces of rope with parts of clothes attached to it.. oh damn I was wrong" .. I mean serious shit , and screw those pussy-countries like Germany and Australia (those keep banning games attempting create 1% of this I told) - this is war game, game for big angry boys seeking for total virtual battle realism, and you , Bohemia , can be pioneers of this implementation!

    I have some confusion about how Arma2 servers work. I don't understand why the Client cant seem to get a higher FPS than the server. I have also run Domination off line as a single mission and the performance is exactly the same. So what exactly is the server doing? Is it just there to manage all the network traffic? How come it doesn't control all the AI? It seems like all the Clients have to calculate the AI the same amount the server does, which is not how I thought severs for games worked.

    I have played other games where when you play on a server you can get way more fps than when you play offline because the server is doing a lot of the work, eg bf2. And for example, when I used to play OFP CTI on my 2 pc LAN, I would be the sever and would have to put up with the low performance while the other Client PC would run fine.

    But Arma2 is not like this with a server, why?

    On a side note, stuttering/input lag/jerkyness (whatever you want to call it), which I am having no luck in resolving is always very bad when I play large coops online, as soon as the server is underload I get jittery panning even if my fps are 28-30, turning up my VD makes it smoother but then its unsmooth because my pc cant handle 5000m VD near towns. But the same mission offline does not cause this jittery panning effect. Who knows? I don't think I'm ever going to figure it out. :(

    Thats very bad ! This means all clients calculating same data. I would be more happy if they improve netcode instead releasing Operation Arrowhead or how they call their new expansion
