Some people are in serious pain, mate, and if I would have those troubles while enjoying the otherwise great experience, I'd like to ventilate my anger also somewhere and I don't think the Misses would like to have a beating, because I just waisted 2 hours of my life and it is still worse than before. Nothing than love for BIS, I'm just saying...

Picture in picture rendering for helicopters, planes and tanks - BIS please add!

To all of those who thought my approach is not good and can't accept the scope of this thread, I'm not the only one doing a top down approach: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=79821 -
can AI still see through clutter grass in 1.03?

Lol...that was funny -
I think no one doubts the engine's power, but going backwards instead of forwards, consuming hours and hours of tweaking do tend to make one angry and ventilate. Just take it with a bit of salt, although I know where you're coming from. Grtz

Trackir slave support (for the onboard gun) by script/addon
p75 replied to p75's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Dawg, Thanks for the reply, do you know if one can bind both the looking and the aiming to the TrackIR 5? If not possible, you couldn't fool the TrackIR/Arma 2 keybinding somehow with a script? So that they both follow the Head Movement of the TrackIR. -
Hey, does this work within the editor as it states MP?
-
Ah, ok? That would be worth an addon.

Lads, If your a pilot, does the gun slave to your head movement when you select gun and manual fire? This would be a buying argument for me.

Defrag. softw. Diskeeper 2009 Pro does the trick - removes the stuttering completely

Lads, have a look here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=83016 , this is what eventually helped! Thank you for all the replies, and I hope the above will also help you! -
Remove all mods from your shortcut pathway. If that doesn't help I would consider a reinstall if I were you. Good luck!

Great Lads, I reas some review in a recent magazine, but if there is freeware on the same level, give it a go. The default windows defrag sucks. This makes my pc better than when it was new :-) and Arma 2 runs supersilk! -
Defrag. softw. Diskeeper 2009 Pro does the trick - removes the stuttering completely

Hi Lads, As most I experienced some serious stuttering after applying patch 1.03. After removing all the mods, which improved it slightly as I had the CBA mod installed (imcompatible at this time with 1.03), it was half the time, but still there at random intervals. Someone from BIS recommended some defragmentations, which I did through the normal windows console (running XP here). Unlucky as I was, it did make any difference. So, I went out to find the best available software for defragmentation and found Diskeeper 2009 Pro, and... Wow, my pc has never run soo beautiful and that includes the stuttering Arma 2, which is now completely gone after 1 defragmentation with this software. :D The software has two modes, automatic and manual. I've choosen the manual version (they say automatic is even better, but I'm not for running extra services on my pc, I already have enough). And defragmentated manually once normally and thereafter a manual bootdisk defragmentation. They have a trial available for 30 days, just grab it and resolve your issues! (just google them) I have no doubt that this will help alot of people!!! Enjoy Arma 2 1.03. -

Sorry mate, defrag does not work. -
Important: Read if you encounter stuttering after 1.03

A No for me, defrag didn't help. -
Thanks for the tip, mate, I'll have a look at that one to.

Hi Lads, I seriously recommend the book 'Apache' from Ed Macy, he describes his tour in Afghanistan flying an ApacheAH-64 MK1 (tuned AH-64D version). And wow, am halfway through, but if you're interested in Attack Helicopters then you simply need to get this. This comes serious recommended. On Ebay it is cheap, got a paperback with sending for 7$. There is even a website with pictures, videofragments and audio pieces. Truely incredible!

That would not make any sense. I mean should we expect to turn our settings down due to a patch? That would be the other way around. It is odd as I tried now several Nvidia drivers, old, new and newest, using Driver Cleaner to be sure that nothing was left, but all show the same effect as I described earlier. Even defragmented the disk, no luck whatsoever. To be quite frank, this is the first ever patch in my life where I go actually backwards. ---------- Post added at 08:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:21 PM ---------- That might be something for the BIS crew to look at. They improved the border, maybe it has something to do with that? -
I've the same problem, .....

Yeah, mate, that is a typo! Thanks!
