    Well it's impossible to make a city which has more FPS than the nature, but as I know the performance problem in large cities, I've tried to make a city which would perform as good as possible and still be a city. The size of the city is kind of large, but not like Chernogorsk. I made some calculations with my other computer, which had fps of 40-60 in the nature and 35-50 in the city with very high/high settings. (GPU: GeForce GTS250) In chernarus it has only 30-40 in the nature and 15-30 in chernagorsk :( Of course everything depends of your computer...

    Humm... I guess it's best on special forces kind of missions, but I'm sure that bigger ones work well too. And yes, there's a city too.

    It's a lot smaller than Chernarus and smaller than Podagorsk, but please remember, there are two islands in one and thanks to its' small size, fps is very good and the level of detail can be a way more higher. I first thought that I would make 10km x 10km island but then I came to conclusion that smaller is better at this time. atm I'm working with the last village. I'll release Thirsk when it's ready. There are no much to do, but even the little things can take a lot of time... work in progress :cool:

    Work in progress.... satellite texture is the last thing to do. I'm sure you'll like the feeling of frozen forests. I've already tried to make some not so snowy areas in some parts of the island but it just looked a bit strange and unrealistic (for example in snowstorm) so I had to replace them with something else... :/ Working on...

    I was looking for frozen style of forests. Not the way it looks when it have just snowed, because arma2's engine doesn't have a support for snow layers or anything like that. Frozen environment also allows me to do completely white nature, which looks pretty nice in game :) Snow clutter is included. Please mention if you have any ideas or suggests for Thirsk.

    Yes I have and after I have released this island, everybody can borrow those trees to their own island projects if want to. I would really like to see more winter islands in arma 2. Thirsk will also include a new kind of weather effects (for example snowstorm, snowing, mist, fog etc.) which you can use by making a weather game logic. I've also planned some new gameplay items, but I have to see how well I can create them. My main target is to show how good engine arma 2 has and to reach the feeling of original operation flashpoint and to improve it :) And Boris_Balzer don't worry, I'll try to make the winter island to look as realistic as possible. I live in Finland so when I look outside the view is something like this: (Snow picture), so I know what I'm looking for :D

I'm trying to have same amount of 'ground's light reflection' at 12 o'clock than it is at 9 o'clock. Any ideas what does all those numbers mean and how can I reduce ground's glow?

    There will be new objects (not sure of alko :>) and a lot of re-textured arma 2 models to improve our gaming experience (doesn't replace the old ones or change other island's models, don't worry). New weather effects will be included- All objects and features work in other islands too. New objects are going to help us to create new kind of missions (for example a bomb object etc.) There will also be one big surprise, but I can't reveal it because... well.. it's a surprise. (And I used Fraps to record the vid)

  17. Looks good, but could the 'pointer' be less visible? For example if someone is trying to show the hidden enemy sniper, that cross or balloon would cover him and nobody couldn't see him. Could it be for example transparent circle (like a ring) or something like that?

    Don't worry, they are enterable already. I don't like buildings which I can't use :) And as I'm planning this to be a multiplayer island, you gotta have a lot of hiding places. Island of course. I love islands! :)

    Well it's just like a .zip or .rar file, there's just a interface. The installer extracts the files (japahto.pbo, japahto2.pbo + keyfiles & bisign files) and does nothing else.
