Hmmmm no experience with steam.... if it was me,, I would be tempted to use a diff GSP if they are not going to sort it, If its happening to both of you then it stands to reason its from their stock install...

IF you are both on Same gsp, and they SET up server for you, then Maybe there is a file running around in their system that shouldnt be there, if they are copying the install from the same place.... I had same problem, it was just a case of a pbo that somehow sneaked thru (I prob fuked up some addon install lol) all I did was compare my addon folder, file by file.... takes about 5 mins.

Okey dokey matey,,, Im sure you know that No matter what, ANYONE not running that island is going to see a yellow icon regardless of whether you wait for the 1.58 patch or not..... infuriating or what ? maybe if we could have a filter in the multiplayer that you can search for all servers running compatable mods as your own,,, like we can search for Non passworded servers etc...

But does it show yelllow for everyone ? Me for instance, not your clan members, just in case the fault is on your side......... just as a test, filter for the SBS server, Dont use any addons, and tell me if its yellow or green for u.... IF its yellow then the problem is client side buddy.

when I checked your server this eve, u r running with an island as a mod, are u using that client side also ? anyone with out that island is gonna see your server as Yellow buddy...

if you want blade matey.. I could FTP my addons folder to your server, ours is Green :) so it should be ok...

Sorry, buddy... but I think you will find that theres a rogue element (addon ?) or summat in your server install.. if you server is not running any addons and neither are u , then it should be green,, Ours is.... compare your addons folder, File by File with the servers... What was the "work Around" u used previous ?

No he isnt saying that buddy, his icon on the server list is prob now YELLOW, because EITHER he has installed the latest patch on server, OR he is using the latest BETA patch on his CLIENT machine, Only way around it for you buddy is revert to the 1.57 patch and all will be green... Would be nice even if BIS has to use the diff colour icons, that they wouldnt group them all together at the bottom of the list...... If you have a server with no players on it,, (GREEN ICON) it comes further up the list than a FULL server with a Yellow icon if you list by number of players..... doesnt make any sense whatsoever.....

To be completely fair to this, we should be inputing cost of server also.... stands to reason that if you have enough money to throw at server you will get the best chip etc........... What we should be looking at is the bigger picture, IS IT worth throwing loads of money at a server when you can get a system that can do the job reasonbly well without paying through the nose for it.... Soooooooooooo many choices :) obviously my system is cheaper than most of the others, BUT for what we use it for it pretty much "kicks Arse" (100% PvP without AI) I could run 2 maybe 3 PvP 24 player servers on our system but choose to stick with the one 36, we could run with more players but that would not suit our choice of maps.... .... Just stating that theres much more to choosing the right chip etc for running arma... ...

Hmmm out of curiousity,,, I just used the new Beta server exe, with the 1.57 patch..(beta NOT installed) just copied it out of the beta folder and sent to server ))server works fine, green icon and all.... does that mean we still get the Benefit of the new server exe ?

OP is right, just read it, not getting into whys and wheres of the rules, the SERVER admin/owner has a right to ask you to follow them,,,,,,, REGARDLESS of whether you get kicked about a bit by a clan member....... if that happens try a diff server..... ONE added point,,,, CHECK the server before you join, the amount of players who try and join our Combined ops server with only OA is unbelievable,,,, they may get lucky and join on a OA specific map, but as soon as we change it Ooooops! gone.... just check it first. Bis have kindly listened to us all regarding the server viewer and the info it shows,, we should now all learn to check it first and then on joining as the OP states READ the individual rules. Sorry Teaboy matey (only picked out 2 points) but lets face it, 90% of the Clan members you are talking about actually PAY for the right to state whats right and wrong... secondly... Whats unclear about "poor conduct" , do you expect them to list everything ? is it wrong to EXPECT a player to act with a bit of common sense.

TBH I commented out my "reportingIP = "arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com"; A long time ago, and have NEVER had a problem finding it in the list.

hmmm not sure if this is right because 95% of the test ours was on and 11 and 10 fps Rarely going below 11... with a drop down to 9 FPS twice on the whole test.... Using all four cores at around 33 % Our lowly system :( Q6600 2.40 GHz 4 gig of ram Windows server 2003 enterprise edition. 64 bit Only "MODS" were baf and Pmc not sure if you need this info but we do use Firedaemon Trinity to run it as a service (doubt thats gonna make a diff though) one thing I did was restart the server prior to test,,,, (not a full reboot though) SERVER TAG SBS - Special Boat Service

will check on ours tonight... though ours is only a quad core lol.. and wont get close to your scores, still would be nice to check,,

Filter SBS in the server name buddy,,,, we play it (obviously not all the time) NO MODS required or WANTED :) you are welcome to vote yoursefl admin when we are not about and run it yourself..... we are UK based and so is the server.
