  1. Love the fact we're now officially seeing FSAA, however I'm a bit surprised by the framerate cost. In Arma1 (where at high settings I had the same avg. 30 FPS as in A2 at low settings) enabling or disabling FSAA made a barely notable difference, about 1 or 2 frames - somewhat hard to measure even. 2xFSAA was basically "free" on the card. In A2, the lowest FSAA setting costs average 5 to 6 frames, which is quite a chunk if your max framerate goes from 36 to 30, and average drops from 30 to 25.

Any idea why that could happen? Are the In-Game settings maybe better than 2xFSAA even at "Low"? I can not enable FSAa trough the driver to make sure it's only using 2xFSAA.

Why does this matter? The human eye doesnt see over about 25fps anyhow?!

  2. CONSOLES SUCK BIG TIME! They good for a few genres of games, like Racing and FPS shooters, now i know one of you will try and shoot me down here but ARMA2 isnt a FPS shooter, its a tactical Military SIMULATOR, far more going on than just pointing your gun and pulling the trigger.

  3. Well 1.02 is out and i heard they were going to add big foot then, couldnt see any mention in the change log, anyone got any info?

Also how did that guy make a sniper with no guns?

Just drop your weapon i suppose!

My team in the campaign keep saying "what was that!" and the like when we are in woods, so could be in!

  4. You can have the best hardware in the world and as high view distance as you want - you'll still not be able to spot players because they'll be pixelaetd when they're more than a couple hundred meters away. Spotting bigger objects like houses and tanks though is more viable at longer distances if your system can handle it.

Hmmmm, ive been able to spot out to about 700m but thats it really.

  5. Again, throttle does not exist on choppers. Speed is decided by tilting the chopper forward.. or whichever direction you want to go.

    Again, better then BF2 :P

Flying choppers in BF2 is like flying RC choppers.

Flying a R/C Helicopter is the same as flying the real thing, they work in the same way, dont get me started on this one! ive been flying R/C for many many years.
