  1. Hi all,

    I like to play BMR Insurgency with some friend on my own server. Our problem ist that the server resets the mission when the last player has left the server. I've tested it with a headless client but i got the same result. I've also tested the ALIVE mod but the insurgency missions are different than BMR Insurgency. Is there any possible way that the server will not reset the mission after leaving the server?

  2. Hi all,

    this is a small tutorial how to play ARMA3 in VR (Oculus Rift and HTC Vive) without using VorpX.

     

    The main conecpt is base on the idea of "NeoArmageddon" so many thx for that!

     

    What do you need:

    1) Reshade (http://reshade.me)

    2) the Reshade SBS Shader (https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D)

    3) Virtual Desktop (Steam)

    4) Opentrack (https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases) now works with SteamVR

     

    Installation:

    1) Start the install of Reshade

    2) Klick "Select Game" and select the arma3.exe in the arma 3 install folder

    3) Choose the correct DirectX/OpenGL version for arma3 (DirectX 11)

    4) On the question with the "standard shader" select "NO"

    ​5) Extract the Depth3D Shader file and copy the "SuperDepth3D.fx" file into the main ARMA3 folger (where the arma3.exe is).

    6) Start Virtual Desktop

    7) Start ARMA3 (check that the game will not start in Cinema Mode! Uncheck the option in arma3 properties in stream

    8) If the game has started hit SHIFT+F2

    9) A menu will appear. Klick continue

    10) Klick to the "+" button

    11) Write "SuperDepth3D.fx" (without quotes) into the inputfield and press return

    12) To enable the shader click to the checkbox next to "Super_Depth3D". Now the display turned to SBS

    13) Click to "Continue", some options will be shown

    14) Enable the option "Polynominal Barrel Distortion"

    15) With the option "Perspective Slider" you are able to bring the both images together (move left - right) in vr glasses

    16) With "Horizontal and Vertical" you are able to change the size of the image in vr glasses

    17) Change the Viewmode in Virtual Desktop to Direct SBS with Lense Correction

     

    Use Opentrack for Headtracking.

     

    If i will get some time (hopefully tomorrow) i will give you more details about resolution and settings.

    That's why I'm posting here :-)

     

    Yesterdays update added native support of what Oculus calls Async Time Warp to OpenVR as far as I know.

    Edit: kremator was faster^^. But yes, I plan to invedtigate native solutions aawell.

    P.S. Is there a demand for a Arma3 VR discord channel? IF yes, I will setup one.

  4. Hi,

    have you ever played the game "Onward"? It is like Counter Strike for VR and the movement system is good and fully usable for Arma3. Check out some Videos if you like to.

     

    I'm using a tool for my flight simulator called "Flysinide-FSX". Usually the Microsoft Flight Simulator runs with lower FPS than 90 (mostly 30-40) and the creator of this tool implements an own version of Async Timewarp for the Vive and also implemnts VR-SLI which makes the VR feeling very smooth. May  be its possible for you to contact him? May be he will give you some info how it works?

  5. Hmmm. i've jsut seen that VBS3 uses Oculus Rift but ARMA3 not and i would guess they uses the same engine. I cannot understand why Arma 3 will not support it... no words. Create a payed DLC and i would buy it and some more i guess.

     

    I'm not a really good c++ programmer but may be it's possible to create an own VR implementation for arma?


  6. Hi, i'll give it up. For me it's not really possible to play ARMA with Vorpx on my Vive. ITs not looking really good.

    Because of no response of any dev/manager in the question of HMD support i'll guess there will never be VR support on Arma 3.......

     

    I wil take a look to ONWARD, i've heard is is like arma only in vr..... hopefully...


  7. Does it move your mouse even in main menu, editor or even in the desktop? If not then you might want to look every Arma 3 control settings again.

     

    Hi, its on Main Menu, in Editor and when I'm sitting in a car the soldier moves the steering wheel a little bit.


  8. Hi, i have some trouble with the head tracking. VorpX will move my mouse on moving my head and ingame (e.g. in an car) the head movement will turn the car. I've checked every option many times. On VorpX Menu mosue acceleration is off. But the head movement will still moves the mouse, tool. Any solution for this?

  9. As far as I know at least one bis dev is working on vr. Whether this is another project, side project, or getting arma 3 ready is another story .

     

    They can make and DLC of it so they are able to earn money for this.

     

    I have still big issues with arma (vorpx, opentrack) and my dk2. It's hard to find the correct settings (resolution, ratio, opentrack) to play arma with dk2 and no manual.

    All manuals i found are using old programm versions (oculus Runtime, Arma, VorpX, Opentrack) and not usable anymore. :unsure:

    does someone have it actual running with DK2, Runtime 0.8 and Vorpx 0.91 ?

  11. Hi, native VR support would be great.

    I am testing Arma3 with Vorpx 0.9, Windows 10, runtime 0.8.

    Does anybody get it to work with this configuration? Opentrack is not working with runtime 0.8 so is it possible to use the native vopx build in tracker?

    @IceBreakr: You have shurely invest many time to create your great maps and it would great to have some mission so that more people can play on it. The problem ist that if someone made a mission for a custom terrain you won't find it because of thousands of missions for altis and stratis. SIX is a good way but there should be a way with more structure.

  13. Hi i have a small understanding issue.

    I've seen many great terrains on armaholic but i do not find any multiplayer missions fot it. Do i something wrong (or understand something wrong) or do not exists any mission for it?

    Especially terrains:

    • All in Arma Terrain Pack
    • FSF Al Rayak
    • Island Panthera A3
    • Isla Duala A3

    and more.
