Often the servers are the issue, they will cap your frames by their performance I think. Also many missions set the object detail and landscape-detail for you. So of course your fps won't change if you change settings because the mission settings are used.
I'am annoyed, too of some missions. Like Berzerk, I can play at the same spot with 85fps with landsacpe detail low (means there is grass) and object detail very low (doesnt look bad but gives lot of fps) and the rest very high,VD 3800.
But the mission sets my landscape to normal/high and raises object detail that my fps drop to 35-60 maximum.

Good luck guys hope we see some results in time =)

Went on last night and 20 out of the 20 servers I could play on were Co-Op.We got small map Berzerk running with 64 vs 64 it's awesome
But highpingers will be kicked and our server is german.

It could be the gear sound causing the cracking noise. I removed them in the fix.Yes now everything is fine, thank you.
Could you add sounds for gears and flaps of aircrafts ? If it aint realistic to hear these please tell me, but I tested that F16-Addon and really enjoyed the Gear and Flap sounds,

Hm damn, but got 2.1 installed, if theres another fix I will search for it the next minutes.
The cracking appears when the exhaust blows up gases.
-
Had no tearing with 185.85 and Vsync on.

It's not useful anyway in this state, only for fun.
It will become useful when it's possible to detect thermal energy with it like in VBS2,
or simulate it some other way but right now it's even harder to find units with FLIR then with NV.

Got a question, Vop 2.1 is very nice but I hate the MTVR sound, it makes bad cracking sounds on my high end sorround system. is there a way how I can disable/remove the MTVR sound in Vop 2.1 ?
-
Yea need it too, I shot a little bit and it was like:
500 meters = elevation 1485
700 meters = elevation 1450
1000 meters = elevation 1400
And is there some kind of cluster-ammo ?
When I try to hit T1 I never hit the bus because it's so small, only the big house next to it.

I think you need to download the 255MB opx, too. Link is in the 1st thread.

Got some questions. Got everything working fine. Can I use the old Arma I missions and are they working correctly or has somebody to make new ones for ArmA 2.
And I would love if there would be (maybe it already exists) a Black-Hawk down mission where you have to rescue the pilots and soldiers from the helicopter wrecks in a city filled with shooting civillians.
Will this become a mod ? Then we would need some desert-styled vehicles and unit-skins, some are already made by the community like Abrams and Warthog desert skin.
I never played ArmA, who was the enemy there ? Africans ? Or russians, too ?
Just read your instructions Kylania, thank you very much for these. Why do I have to download Chinook and the other Humvee, too ?
And this is only for importing the maps, not for the missions, right ?
If someone got a working cool mission plz let us know and maybe upload it.

It seems some ArmA2 menu screens can cause your GPU temps to climb out of controlThat only happens if you turned Vertical Sync off in drivers. This causes the menu to run with hundreds of FPS instead of your monitor frequency (e.g. 60fps) and that will heat up your graphics card.
The same with all other games or game menues which run that fast.
I thought I'd pass this along for general knowledge, just in case someone happens to hit escape and leave their computer for awhile only to come back and find a fried video card (or worse). Its not that ArmA 2 Menue heats up the graphics card like insane, just like every other 3D-Program running fast will heat up the voltage transformer on the card. There will be no problem with graphics cards running at stock clocks, and if your overclocked card gets too hot then you OCed to much or get better cooling ;-)
I prefer to turn vertical sync on. You get same performance as before, no hot menues and frames will not get cut in half while turning around ingame (like on this picture http://www.nhancer.com/help/images/VSync.png. )

Yea best to use older Nvidia drivers like 185.20 or 185.85, the new ones are kind of buggy.
Also had some issues with white traingles and FPS dropping to zero but that was because the VRAM was full and after I set the videomemory from very high to high everything works fine.
-
Thx and lets hope it gets fixed soon by some people with that knowledge =)

Are we finally able to bind "next target" to a joystick button ?
-
Changing my video memory from "Preset" to "High" solved this issue for me, I have 1024MB Vram.
-
This damn bug that you're not able to bind the "next target"-key to the joystick has to be fixed ! It's awkward that I have to press TAB all the time =/

The E6600 is too weak for it. Overclock it to 3GHz/3.2GHz or grab a Q6600 and overclock it to that.
-
Yeah they should know it best and tell us which option is good =/

No no no ^^
I watched the memory use and the moment the textures went white was when the pagefile was over it's limits.
The pagefilesize is 4096 and when the crash and the missing textures before occured the file was over 4200...
I have 6 Gigabyte DDR3 ArmA2 used 2048MB of it and the 4200 MB pagefile.

I have often CTDs.
And before it happens there are graphical issues.
One time I wanted to fly a KA-52 in the armory.
After loading, it was me and my AI-mate sitting in the air.
The KA-52 was invisible. 10 Seconds later it crashed to desktop.
Other time I flew with a F35B and suddenly the ground textures were missing... then it crashed.
Do you think I could fix the problem ?
Do you have the same issue ?
Is it maybe the Vram ?

Win 7 64 bit and Core i7 920- Crashes to desktop without error message.

I read a lot of peoples posts about Patch 1.02 and they complain that there's no FSAA.
But when I change FSAA=0 in my ArmA2.cfg config file to FSAA=4
The ingame menue says "AntiAliasing: Very High".
Costs only 5 Fps and no more edges, looks awesome.
But I wonder why so many complain about this ? Or am I wrong and it isn't integrated yet ?
Edit: Ok I thnik I know why no one uses it, because there's a bug with the shadows then =(
Lets wait for Patch 1.03
Multiplayer Fps still capped
in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING

Capped 60 is because of Vertical Syncronisation and that is alright, because human eye won't notice fps higher then that.
