  1. I see your point and yes I do agree. When I would completely wipe a hard drive then wip Xp onto it was lightning fast. The trouble is Xp dosent know how to organise itself properly thus meaning the user has to reinstall the operating system to regain stability.

This is a major flaw in the system, for gaming it is great. I think once Windows 7 releases without any limitations and the hardware manufacturers update their drivers to best support their products we will be enjoying games ''the way their meant to be played''

  2. Hello everyone, after battling with Vista for so long, dealing with the sluggish user experience that it gives people, I upgraded to the RC of Windows 7.

I have to say, ever since I have done that I have locked FPS at 30 while maxing most settings. I do not have a monster system, it is a year and a bit now but doing well. The game seems fluid and stable with the 1.03 patch and I am very postive about the whole experience. I think Microsoft finally hit the nail on the head here.

I would really suggest for anyone ummin and arrring whether to finally dispose of their Windows XP system, this is the time.

The increase in stability and performance is so great for someone who has a mid range pc that I have to boast about it.

    here are my specs.

    Alienware Area 51

Nforce 790i Ultra Sli Bios version 6.0

Intel Quad Q9450 2.66GHZ (no overclock)

    4GB OCZ 1033mhz Ram

    Windows 7 RC 7100 Build

EVGA 8800 GT 512MB driver version 190.08 windows 7 beta

  3. I really like the way how the AI sqauds move and navigate now, it seems more fluent and realistic. They are starting to act like soldiers, they crouch alot more now when on the move.

Keep up the good work BI! But dont slack

  4. The Micro Ai has greatly been improved now that 1.03 has arrived!

Units stick together a lot more now, are not to scared to advance when there isnt a huge threat. They seem to be conserving ammunition too. I also spotted them checking behind when moving and loads of other tweaks that really add to the realism. Not perfect, but we are on the right tracks!

    Well done B.I

    :yay:

  5. To be honest I don't think its acceptable in this day and age to release a product that people buy with their hard earned money to have such major issues.

I am no whiny little C**T, I am no stupid minor, but I am a gamer who has expectations that do not exceed that of a normal human being.

The game shouldnt have bugs that make it unplayable, I totally agree with the majority who say that this is the same with other software etc, and yes it is true. But come on, did BIS really sit around the table and go '' yeah this is great guys, we have definitely made a great game''?

my opinion is my opinion, if anyone feels the need to call me this stupid word of ''troll'' I will break faces

  6. wtf does this have to do with AI? all you're talking about is the streaming engine where it loads objects into higher detail the closer you get; it's not a bug. Yes, sometimes it looks bad; but it's been like this since Arma1 and maybe even OFP.

I just felt like adding that, why you beefing on the internet you geek.

It is a fcking bug, because it bugs me and looks fckin stupid ok?

I don't remember walking through a field and suddenly a tree changes form and the grass grows below my feet as I walk!

    This game is soo realistic.

  7. This game is very frustrating and shouldn't of been launched without the proper beta testing.

For instance, the grass detail changes with every step you make like there's a wave on the floor. The same with trees too, don't get me wrong these are not things that create the backbone of the game play but when the foliage around is F***ing jumping around you start to wonder how they hell they missed it.

Apart from that ( and many very very annoying things) its great!

  8. Sorry if this seems very newbie, but I was just wondering if someone can explain the GAME LOGIC section in the editor?

    What does it do?

What does it add to mission creating?

    how to implement them?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

p.s I have been making basic missions for ages with some basic scripting, but I have never learnt what the game logic bit does

    cheers

  9. Hi all

I think the fundamental cause of this is the ego booster shooters such as COD which mistrain people into thinking their oponents should be easy to beat.

People are so used to linear battles against scripted AI that when placed in a dynamic environment against good AI they blaim the game for their inability to use proper TTP.

I do not think their inability is due to them. I blame it on the negative training they get from badly made Ego Booster Shooters. The ones that do not teach the difference between cover and concealment. That vaunt the Rambo charge and teaching blasting away stood up in the middle of the street. The bunny hoppers.

The Ego Booster is a passive form, realy just a glorifed film with bad acting. They look to pasify their customers with an ego boosting; "Yes you are a good sheep." pat on the back and look to herd them along from one checkpoint in the coridoor to the next and out to buy the next version for another fleecing.

    Sadly walker

I was just trying to show how quickly they know your exact location and shoot. not trying to show my stealth skills. I have much patience for this game, and did not just come on this forum to blame the game becus its not like Call of duty.

Ive been with the series ever since its started.

I admit, maybe the video was not the best to show the issue and I except that.

Are people able to look past that and see the issue that 'they' can pinpoint, and fire without the need to search a noise?

  10. Try lying perfectly still as they walk by you, that would be a better test IMO. If they can see you while you are making NO noise, and you're not right under their feet (try lying down about 10 feet off the path, where they would surely see you during the day), you might have something.

I will do this as soon as I get in!

WHY HAS THIS THREAD CHANGED TO MYTHBUSTED? IT HASENT BEEN YET!!
