    Sorry if this is a frequently asked question (searched the wiki), but how do we disable the ACE-added unit map markers?

    I just upgraded ACE, but I didn't get any new userconfig files. The folder is empty, leaving me with only the old config files from a few weeks ago. So I'm going to get that mismatch error message when I play.

    look in @ACE/store/userconfig

    Dont assume that I live where you live. And if you read my post correctly, he does know how to play it, just not able to set up the mods and get on.

    2 people is not enough by most peoples standards. That is a joke level of people. You simply cannot enjoy multiplayer tell the server has at least 5 people. I'm not going to sit on an arma 2 server for an hour waiting for people. Sometimes its been longer than that. One time I sat on for more than 3, so its insane just to start anything.

    BIS did do something wrong, they did not make the game accessible enough for the average person to enjoy, and the majority of hardcore players have infact suffered because of that. Most people just put up with it now because they have found clans and tournaments. That is not fair for people who do not have the time to dedicate themselves to those things. It needs to be upgraded if they want future success, or else the profits will not be enough and their company will probably go bankrupt.

    And since when has the count been 50 servers with 2 people? Its generaly about 20 lol, which then most of those are 200+ ping.

    Im just wondering, are you using ACE mod? The majority of servers seem to run it now and you might be missing out. I never have a problem finding a pub with 15+ people on it..

    Back of the truck has been also modelled, and doors are two separate parts, so

    if someone ever finishes this, he can make rear doors openable :P

    Car itself is fictive, since I dont really wanna try to make something

    realistic, I would just mess it up :D

    Will it come with a bag of candy? :O

    Wow, no offense to anybody personally, but lay off the whole: "BIS need to do this, BIS need to do that" idea.

    None of you even have a clue how, why, or when they work, so what right do you have to tell them how to do things? No offense, honsetly, but all you do is criticize and moan. If it's THAT bad, why do you love it so much?

    You know full well how much effort and time BIS put into this game, you find me one developer who works on there game 7 days a week. I mean it, 7 days a week, in -20 conditions, in 8 inches of snow...

    BIS work harder than most of the people on these forums, to tell them they slack is completely out of order.

    Its actually quite sickening to read some peoples posts. I come here to see if theres any updates and all I find is unreasonable and unrealistic demands mixed in with exaggerated complaints and people already pre-judging how its going to be. Is this really how ungrateful and ignorant people are these days? If I was a BIS employee reading some things that people post here I'd probably be seriously demotivated if THIS is who I'm making games for.

    I dunno what most people paid, but ArmA2 - even brand new - cost a lot less than most other games, games where the only real experience was nothing short of a robbery-turned-rape. We get EXTREMELY much more than we deserve and pay for here.

    Hi, sorry I've been away for ages and am trying to update my ACE2, the only problem is I'm on a shared connection with limited downloads so I'm trying to use the least I possibly can here ;)

    I downloaded the first ACE when it was released, but I'm not sure if it would use more or less to update from it or download the new full version. Any ideas on what I should do?

    uh well, you might as well just download the update via six updater. It'll grab all the updated files and not bother with anything that hasnt been changed. i mean, it cant be MORE than the entire package anyway, can it?

    im confused about something...

    i can't seem to get the grenade launchers sites to appear. i press shift v and instead of some kind of GL site appearing my guy just does the stepover animation (which is obviously linked with the V key)

    does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it working or is it just permanently broken/not working ?

    im running latest version of ACE 2 btw

    uh. try the button to bring sights up? right mouse by default, isnt it? unless im missing something, shift v gives sight adjustment, and the grenade launchers dont have that kind of adjustment.

    Hi there i have a issue joining just 1 server (others are fine) every time i join I get "player TrueSlawter is using Mod data file CA" then it says something along the lines of "player cant Play/Edit Mission...." I cant catch the rest as it goes really quick any clues to why this is?

    Sounds like youre missing some addon. The crucial part is in the bit you cant catch.. of course ;)

    ricbar89, afaik they didn't say that JCOVE's FLIR is in OA, they just said that there will be FLIR in OA, without specifing which (by that I'm of course not saying that it won't be as good as JCOVE's, though!).

    Just quoting Wolle from the old OA Q&A thread from last year..

    Is there going to be a functional FLIR system out of the box (everything has heat based textures)

    BIS: Yes, there will be a FLIR system. We have one of the most sophisticated FLIR simulation systems already done for VBS2 and we will bring it in Arrowhead to fans of ArmA II too.

    again, how a mission plays out and what assets are available - be that weapons or vehicles or aircraft - is completely up to the mission maker.

    There are "vendors", if you like to use a MMO term (and please dont), in missions such as the "Warfare" pvp mode.

    If you want to play around with all the weapons, jump into the editor, place yourself down on the map somewhere, place a few ammo boxes with weapons (Empty > Ammo > whatever) and go to town.

    The story of ArmA2 vs DR is that 2001 (ish) BIS developed and Codemasters published Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Some years later they went separate ways but codemasters got to keep the OFP name. BIS then made ArmA and lately ArmA2 from the same engine, which they rightfully own. Codemasters started from scratch to make OFP:Dragon Rising and produced a stillbirth.

    oh and btw, ArmA2 is basically the same engine as used in military training simulators (with some significant differences) by the USMC, UK MOD, Australian MOD, etcetc

    This game is totally open ended. Its up to the mission designer to set any restriction they like on who may or may not use whatever "asset".

    Youve probably played either Domination or Evolution with ranking requirements before you can use certain vehicles/weapons. The solution here is to play a non-ranked version. Or another mission.

    Since we're talking about the config files already...

    I've added my name to the clientside config, in userconfig/ACE, and in the @ACE folder as well, but I don't get any options in my scrolling action menu to put in earplugs, wear goggles, etc.

    The name I put in was what I play as - does it have to be the default one that is assigned, derived from my Computer Name?

    Eh damn it....I cant reinstall Arma 2 again..taking 1 1/2 hour with patching every time.....;-( Maybe someone could be so nice and upload the AH64 files from his Addons folder[1.5]....Would be really really nice...!

    you could have done it several times over by now. Even with your ridiculous overestimation.
