with regards to six updater, if you can spend a couple of minutes getting it running then itll make your life a hell of a lot easier for updating quite a few mods and islands. I find it to be excellent.

While the 4870x2 has 2gb of memory, its split to 1gb per GPU on the card, so effectively it has only 1gb, so you shouldnt see that as a factor.

no its not possible. it requires render to texture, which the arma2 engine is not capable of.

1.05 was a final patch in the sense that it had finished beta testing and was in ITS OWN final form. ArmA2 has not had its final patch, however.

TRIM is available for a lot of SSDs now as well, which stops the slowdown in the first place.
