That story could be very offensive to russians here... Including me. And Russians would never surrender to Americans, they'll die for their country. But I don't really see much point in taking a prisoner in the game. In real life, interrogating is useful, but in a game people wouldn't care much for their lives if they don't want to have their team busted. But seriously, change your message without mentioning races... That would be much better.

Actually, for you specifically I would suggest going with Dragon Rising. The thing is, I myself come from unrealistic shooters but I have some experience playing Project Reality so I'm moving onto this for something I've been looking for for very long. But I've tried Arma 1, and since Arma 2 is very similar, one thing I can tell you for sure, it is NOT what you think it is and it is absolutely different from any shooters you've played before. But if you want to play something like BF2, I really think DR is the best for you. Even though this game is capable of playing similar to a casual shooter, it never will be. You might even be disappointed since it's totally not what you thought. I think you should at least read a lot more on the game and watch a lot more stuff which is what I was doing for the past couple of months. And as for multiplayer, it will be tough to find a server with people who try to play it casually. First of all, if someone wants to do that, they play DR or any other casual shooter. Second of all, this game just isn't made for it, and 3rd - the community that plays it, plays it specifically for using tactics and teamwork and sometimes it can be very hard to keep up with orders, and you have to be very focused as well. Running and gunning wont work, neither will just fooling around, and even getting into some real action could take a while (speaking on behalf PR experience and also watching arma 1 multiplayer gameplay videos from GOL). And then there are the numerous bugs. May DR have less features, it still won't be as buggy. Bohemia is known for releasing buggy games - which isn't bad, my guess is that it's their way of getting enough real feedback and making sure to track down every error and fix it with a wave of patches. But currently, it has only been released recently, so it's still probably going to be the buggiest game you've ever played (besides Big Rigs, lol). We really don't mind, and we're patient, but if you're looking to get into the action real quick, and have some fun after school I don't think this is the best idea. Hate to break it to ya, but I just don't think it'll work out very well. I wouldn't want to see another disappointed face on this forum. But of course, if you think about this, and want to try to move onto this kind of game - tactical, super realistic (compared to other shooters), and teamwork-required hard shooter, it'll be nice to see a new addition to the community. But as from what I've read, this isn't exactly what you're looking for, now is it?

It's the one where you press enter. Well enter in arma 1, dont know about arma 2 yet. You use it for example to get into a vehicle, or switch weapons, or any other "action" in the game.

rofl. He said buttoms on his computers. His computers have BUTToms. He probably meant buttons on his keyboard. I suggest you go to the options and set them yourself, it's useful to make keys for things such as gear up/down, flaps up/down and engine on/off for aircraft.

You guys don't read the forums. First of all, it did come with multiplayer, and many people play it. Second of all, there are no official maps because all games are played on the map of chernarus. And 3rd of all, BIS is known for releasing buggy games which are fixed over the course of the next few months with patches. Soon enough the game will be fine. All you have to do is just stick around.

My god, that was an amazing story. I imagined all of it like an action movie. Wow, I can't wait to play this game.

First of all let me clear up that I love the russian faction and will always be playing it in multiplayer (you can right?). Possibly because I am personally Ukrainian and although I reside in the U.S. I have spent my childhood pretty close to the game's setting. Anyway, I love the first song in the trailer of the russian faction on the official website. I also heard it when installing the ArmA 1 demo. Does anybody know if I can get it, and if so, where?

I think the sprinting animations were as great as seen in the first trailer for ArmA 2. And I think they're as real as you could get... Maybe in slow motion it looks a little weird there, but for example the last scene in that video looks good when they sprint, etc.

What are you talking about? That's exactly what the game does now. Plane crashes at the beginning of both of these vids: Also a slow motion plane crash scene in the middle of this one, although the projectiles look like crap when they're slowed down. :( And also a close up plane crash: Not as dramatic but still better than ArmA 1. Funny video, but also shows debris.

I meant... ordered, not pre ordered. I think they're already ready to ship them out... Because that's what it says on their page I think. Here, it says expected to ship within 7-10 days. I'm not sure if that's when I'll get it or when they'll ship it OUT, but either way I'll save 10 dollars if I get the game a bit late, I guess that's ok.

Sounds like the patch creates other bugs, more technical ones? Eh, not good not good... :( I just pre ordered it from CD-WOW. Can't wait :D
