  1. I've made this video for a job resume which involves game scenario design so that's why I made the mission and the video. But the mission is nice and I guess I'll just post the video here even though 15 minutes nobody will probably want to watch. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nubdz0pTDas Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4f0G9i6aAk
  2. Thanks guys, the last one is what I originally wanted but both fit well.
  3. Hey guys, I have a question about ending the mission. I want to make a trigger that ends the mission only when I, the player, gets in range of it. The reason is because other people will walk by it before I do, from both opfor and blufor. But I want it so that only when I walk by the mission ends. I'm sure this is easy but I just don't know and can't find the right script so whoever can tell me it I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
  4. Thank you very much! It worked. I really appreciate it!

I think they neglected everything... Its just empty land and I'm running on all maxed out. You don't want to hear the rotor sounds either. In fact every vehicle has retarded sounds... In fact EVERYTHING has retarded sounds. I don't get it. Is this for real?! I really thought the game would be better than this.

I think the sound is horrible... Try flying in a heli copter. The rotor sounds are just stupid. Also try firing rockets out of it, the impact sounds are just as stupid. Unless those are somehow actually real sounds, which I doubt. Apologies if I'm mistaken though... Anyway I tried flying and I found this extremely embarrasing: http://i36.tinypic.com/2hqaxc8.jpg Also collision sucks. Tanks can't even take down trees when they're on full speed. Just dropping things I notice here.

    Dragon Rising has been released

Just played it. So far what I've noticed is that you can run up really steep rocky terrains, which is useful I guess. You can also walk through other units - and no you dont die from one shot.. Though your health does not regenerate you won't die as fast as you typically would in arma 2. Also, it hates fraps. It would crash a lot of the time if I press F9 to record. Once I got it to record and the video came out flickering each frame. The running animation of the gun is really annoying. Also you run freakishly slow. And if you look down you don't have legs, but you do feel like a migit because for some reason you're very close to the ground. What I did like however is the long ranged combat. You can see enemy units well - even if it is a forest. Hitting them isn't too hard - and they can't hit you as amazingly as the ArmA 2 AI could (which now may have been fixed, I really didn't test them in the latest patches). I gotta get back to homework but so far I'd say it's pretty cool for an arcade shooter with a bit of spice to it. To arcade shooters it's a very new thing however, but I'm not too surprised since I've been playing ArmA 2 a lot. Oh and as for the graphics, they are indeed not very advanced. A lot of the grass and other vegetation I noticed looks very 2dish, really choppy. Also if you climb down a steep mountain you can sometimes see below the terrain. Friendly squad AI CAN get distracted - however they catch up later on, it was probably because I climbed down a hill that they were afraid to get down to or something. I couldn't exactly figure out how to use the tactics menu. By pressing Q you can access it but I'm not sure how you activate it. Also I hadn't found a good way to heal allies because whenever you take a step they take a step as well so you can't really walk up to them. But I've only played for 20 minutes so I know I might not have gotten a lot out of it and might not have learned a lot of things yet. Another thought - explosions don't look as pretty as in ArmA 2, and I also don't like the colors of the smoke particles. Red smoke seems strangely unrealistic to me. Alright what else... Ah, I found sneaking up fairly easy. When I got separated from my AI, I climbed a hill and snuck behind a small stone castle-like structure, and on the other side there were 3 AI shooting at my guys (which I knew). I easily peeked out and shot them down. I don't remember being able to do this in ArmA 2 so that was interesting. It's a really nice addition to the FPS genre I'd say, but I can't say it's a full military simulator. I wonder what it's like when you're able to fly helicopters and such. At least the campaign isn't bugged up as far as I see. Also will probably try co-op soon. Anyway I'm out, there are my first 20 minute impressions.
  8. Oh awesome, congratulations on the sticky! Maybe more people will see our videos now. :p

1191?! Holy crap, I has a website called 1191adb.com which is a fansite about assassins creed because it took place in 1191. D::eek:
  11. You can take a look at my videos for some examples (hostile forces and thank you bohemia are the only two that use joysticks). Also, Myshaak, Davey gave me permission to use the song so hopefully I'll start working on it on the weekend. :D
  12. haha, good one! I loved the bunny part. You should practice on filming aircraft in motion. Use a gamepad, best thing ever for videos.
  13. Oh man, I LOVE that song! I remember I started watching the rest of his videos a while back when I saw it. Definately, thanks for the idea mate, I'll work on it! Maybe this saturday. edit: I just messaged Davey about permission to use the song, so yeah. I'm ready to do it haha.
  14. Thanks a lot Bascule, and yeah I do have to say Bohemia should really show some kind of appreciation towards that song. It's totally awesome and it represents so much ArmA 2ish humor and inside jokes, and most of all, us players.
  15. Thanks Mate. I actually have ideas for making an increasingly large project for a 30+ minute movie, with ArmA 2, using the animations as my primary weapon. Theres over 4 thousand of them, perfect to make a movie... Just will be a lot of work. But hell, I could give it a shot. And if I pull it off it'll be quite a watch for everyone in the community :P
  16. Cod4 is good, i love it. The storyline and the gameplay, yes its arcade but its very fun. I also do love the soundtrack. Good idea, maybe I'll make a video, just for you lol. But my post-summer videos will hopefully be different, they may possibly be driven by emotion as well which I doubt anyone will get but this is a good song for one of them. Cheers!

Hah! Awesome way to use my video. Thanks :D PS: I updated the first post with a link to another one of my arma 2 videos, which I also like and I think you will too if you liked this one. These two are my top-notch arma 2 videos I think.
