    ARMA Voip Issues

So i did what i suggested: i installed my onboard sound card onto my mobo, having it act as a dedicated piece of hardware for recording / mic stuff only. Tested it with a friend on a arma listen server and it seems to work much better now.

    ARMA Voip Issues

Hello, i have some voip issues with arma (latest version). Yes i disabled HW acceleration and EAX. The issue seems almost random sometimes, but i've deduced it to a few possibilities. This is what i've tried so far: -From someone else's perspective, my voice sounds static, garbled and choppy (at one point, it even sounded robotic), this appears to occur on all channels (direct voip, squad voip, etc). The strange part about it is that sometimes it will switch from being all static to sounding completly fine, almost randomly (although i suspect its more 60 : 40 ratio in terms of bad vs good quality). I noticed that at the very beginning of a game, the mic will sound normal, then later on people will complain about it later on, then i woud just stop using it entirely for the rest of a session. My teamspeak voice sounds fine; no issues with TS what-so-ever. -I noticed that I had TeamSpeak on during my play and testing sessions, i thought that this could be a source of the problem. I went ahead and tested it, and the recepient noticed that the static problem went away, it was clearer, however the choppy problem was still present. -I have changed sound cards (tried an Audigy LS and a Fortissmo soundcard) and microphones (no USB mics - standard mics), the problem remains the same, i think it has more to do with my motherboard, bandwidth, or external applications that i have running in the background that may cause this to happen. I have no onboard sound, since it is currently detached from my mobo. Other Intesesting notes: -I noticed that left 4 dead has a mic issue as well.. the good part about it is that i can test it in the options menu unlike arma so i can get instant feedback. A full restart of left 4 dead fixes the issue entirely, again i think the problem external app related, sometimes i may leave team speak open and then decide to run l4d, notice the sound problem is present, quit the game, disable TS , then restart l4d and it'll run fine. Possible Solution? : install the onboard sound part onto my mobo, and use that exclusivly for microphone hardware, that way i have one piece of dedicated hardware for recording only, and the sound card could handle everything else (playback)... not sure if this is the way to go. Suggestions in troubleshooting are welcomed.
