  1. I want the Chernarus capital :D

Well what would you do if they add stuff such as QG added in the 6G30 grenade launcher. If I gave that to everyone in my group, but some player came in and didn't have the expansion. What would happen in that situation? Would that player be given a random gun, would I have to add in an IF situation to every character, or what?

It might be not appropriate to compare these games, but I'll do it anyway. The good old "Vietcong" game (btw was developed by an Czech studio also) allowed owners of the original game and of "Fist Alpha" expansion to play together online. As game modes were moslty DM, CTF or ATG (Counter-Strike like), you could choose your weapon at the beginning, and the owners of just the original game couldn't choose the new weapons. But they could pick them up from dead players. That means they were in the code but "unlockable". (At least in MP, or you'd probably get kicked because of hacking :D)

  2. Well, I consider myself not a kid, and still I like to play on public servers. I never play on passworded servers. I simply don't have the time and the nerve to play in clans or searching forums or whatever to find a pw for some server where 3 "serious" people are playing.

Public servers are mostly full and if they are well maintained (say, an admin is there most of the time) the problem with the kids disappears next to automatically.

OK, I don't know about all the game modes, but my opinion goes with Warfare.

And if you're honest, we all once were noobs (or kids).

  3. Nice destuction.

I put the 2 images over eachother in photoshop. They are both taken at the exact same location.. and the detructed buildings and church are at exactly the same location before and after the blast.

    Looks really good!

I took the liberty of superimposing the 2 images and save it as an animated gif.. so everyone can see that both images are really the same buildings.

Nicely done, but you can see the door space of the front building has two windows to the left. In the destroyed pic, it just has one window to the left (door moving one "slot"). Also the windows on the left side disappear. It must be generic rubble for different houses (maybe houses with same area).

  4. Some new screens from PCGames.de

Hahaha, Smitty's shitty city. I love it :D

Take happiness in the fact that you are playing the game correctly, and move onto a different server.

That would be the logical conclusion for me as well.

BUT the way I see it, in ArmA, there was only one single server which actually was playable for 16v16 Warfare (at least for me) and that was XR Warfare Server (later XR #2 as well), because all the other servers just had poor specs (terrible lag) or were in the US or RUS (terrible pings and lots of laggers).

(past tense because last time I played was in February.)

anyone knows what this area is supposed to be?

I can see binocular icons on those spaces. Lots of binocular icons :D

  5. I have the exactly same issue, but luckily it doesn't affect gameplay very much. The game just kinds of stop shortly, then turns black. I Alt+Tab to desktop, in the bottom right is the funny message "nv4disp.dll" had some error blabla. I just switch back to ArmA and it just loads the drivers again. I lose just some seconds, due to the switch and the following "Receiving..." black screen and then all is normal again. :yay:

  6. For vehicles, it isn't as tedious. One squad of 4 people only need one HMMWV.

But the soldier should at no point be restricted access to equipment required to carry out the mission simply because he does not have enough money.

I don't like this idea at all.

Firstly, not all players are pro's. So you spawn a HMMWV to a squad, and the noob gets in and drives to some funny place and the other guys are screwed. Happened even in ArmA1 more than enough.

Secondly, half the players would stand at the base begging for equipment making the comm just overstrained. While in the base, they can't capture towns or kill enemies, anything the like. Ergo you get less money and so on and so on. Happened also in ArmA1 more than enough.

I like it the way it is, you can choose whether to play in a team or to do the lone wolf. The comm just provides facs and moves the base one time or another. And if he's funny, he can even command the teams around.
