  1. Theres plenty of Aussie servers that dont require the use of mods, and they pretty much all will let you download the mission.

    You should get into using mods anyway, thats half the fun with Arma2. Its abit daunting at 1st but theres plenty of faq's about.


  2. CHances are if people arnt talking to you is because they are on TeamSPeak or Ventrilo.

    About online numbers, this game isnt BF2, you dont need a full server to have fun, its ARMA2, you can make any type of fun you can think of!!

    If theres only 2 people, create a mission for 2!


  3. There was a problem with i7 and win7 together and disabling hyperthreading in your bios would fix this stuttering it caused. I think thats been fixed but try it anyway.

    You want to get the ones that remove the lower LODs on the trees and buildings, it gets rid of so much texture swapping, looks better and runs better.

    Also try and reduce object detail in options, thats a big killer.

    The goal with Arma2 is not high fps but smooth gameplay. if you get 30fps and its smooth be happy. This game will make you crazy if you start counting fps.


  4. It dosnt matter where you put it, but for neatness sake, give it its own folder. Are you loading OAC as well? Thats needed. Ive never tried, only with Islands.

    EDIT* Just reading the CAA and OAC page i see nothing about using old addons in Arma2. IT says you can use it as a base to convert the addons. You might have to do some config changes...

  5. Great campaign. LOVE the 2nd mission. Extremely atmospheric. This is what Arma2 stock campaign should/could of been like, instead we got warfare :(

    I saw infantry doing a somersault, forward roll in this mission, 1st time ive seen that. Is that new for 1.05 or just this mission>?

    The modline example shown on the DevHeaven HowToStartCAA1 wiki page does not work. It is too long to fit into the Target field of a shortcut (using Vista 64 SP2). Appears to be an unfortunate bi-product of the new modules system. Suggest either trimming down the folder names or moving to what

    Maybe it's best to use AnimalMother 92 suggests above i.e. moving everything into @caa1 and @oac_core and abandoning the x folder. However if teh structure is not changed on the server, it'll mess up updates.

    lol, same questions almost all the time. Use an addon launcher, theres links on the devheaven page you were just looking at.


  7. I cant update CAA1 with Yoma tools with the settings I have got. Usually it worked. Is there some changes to the path, server or something?

    How do I have to setup the paths in Yoma?

    Update YOMA to the latest version and then you will see the servers to use.

    Just pick ONE of the FULL versions either AUTUMN plants or CLASSIC plants, and that is all you need.

    it is normal that when i use sharany or other caa1 idlands the helicopters and armored ai is messed up .. they just go away (im using ace2 using this configuration "C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\beta\arma2.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -mod=@AceX -mod=@cba -mod=@ace -mod=@ACEX_SM -mod=@GL4 -mod=@ACEX_PLA -mod=caa1 -mod=oac .. is it right??)

    afaik it reads in the readme file in documentary, not sure. Downloading atm ^^

    I finished download "All worlds" from yomas, now that i fire up Alpinestar's ArmA2 launcher it gives me the message that it has found new mod, it shuts down, starts up, and says AGAIN that it has found a new mod, and that keeps going...

    CHeck the ALpineStars launcher thread in this forum. Its a known bug, nothing to do with CAA1.


  8. hey kju, sorry if this has been covered. which files do i need to add/remove to get the original vegetation for the caa1 islands and not the autumn plants? thanks!

    You need to disable the Autumn plants folder and download x\caa1\ArmA_PlantsClassic\ folder. I havent looked at the Autumn plants, so maybe im wrong, but thats the folder name for Classic.

    Do i need to download all these files one by one ? It is VERY long...

    You need to search this thread and find out how to use YOMA addon downloader. Its easy to use, you can also get ACE2 with it.
