I did read a post by Suma a long time ago now why its not a 64bit exe. He said there is no gains in doing so.

If you really want to improve performance, format and reinstall windows or buy another stick of ram. Its the only solution. Turning off processes does fuck all.

Im goign to test Pilfius this week, so I will try this too. Thanks

Using the latest drivers? I dont notice different framerates like that with my GTX295.

Started playing the campaign in god mode just so i can get it over with then uninstall it. The FOV is killing me.

Im alt-tabbed atm from MW2 while eat something, I was just trying to remember what mission i was just playing and what had happened ingame and i couldnt remember, The game is just a blur of spam, a series of very forgetable scenes. Fun for some.
-
Ive just started playing, Im in the "netherworld" section. See that's my problem i dont read the story on screen, i dont even know the name of this bit, in the beginning? Is the game like this all the way through? Just pages of text to read on screen? Im thinking of going back to Risen too. Risen has a story but its quick and easy to follow and i prefer that style of action.

Extended_EventHandlers is part of CBA addon. Its needed for most addons.

I think yo might get a conflict from these 2 mods, im not sure, havent tested. WarFX particles and JTD SmokeEffects . They both do similar things? Could cause a conflict. Also, use a launcher, will save you form stuffing around with the cmd line http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6649

Im just going to keep this short because i CBF atm writing alot, just to sound negative, but the single player of MW2 is absolute garbage. Spamfest, corridor shooter. Ive played all the CODs and loved them, but this is just going to far. Dragon Rising requires more tactics than this. Very disappointing game, its all polish and no substance. 4/10

ArmA 2 Game Launcher
Nazul replied to SpiritedMachine's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : Community Made Utilities
Im getting this rather long error when running the launcher and its not working correctly. Using Windows7, i believe .NET is already included for Win7? Wikipedia: The downloaded version is limited to three installs.
Nazul replied to Chickan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Ive got download version with install limit and have already reinstalled 4-5 times on vista and win7 with no probs, i havent even revoked any of the installs. But i wouldnt buy download version again, i only did because release date in Australia was way after rest of world. -
How much money did BI make out of Arma 2????
Nazul replied to itsme's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I remember reading that OFP sold 2million copies and Arma1 sold 200000-300000. So i think you can guesstimate from those figures. Somewhere above A1 but below OFP :) -
Umm it really is the POS everyone is making it out to be. It lacks any character or soul, extremely bland, washed out like the colour scheme ingame. The new patch for DR is a joke. Its the type of patch that should've been released on the games release day.

Excellent work with the ping function. Im on holidays and cant test for another 3weeks. :( Thanks -
Is there anyway to voice the coords at all? Someone mentioned this online the other day because we were playing in veteran and his GPS was not showing for some reason.
-
I see you have i7 and Win7, you must disable hyperthreading in BIOS with that combo, Ive got same specs, made a world of difference.

ArmA II launcher by alpinestars

What about pings on the server browser? Is that possible? Great launcher btw, cant play without it. -
Using the latest Nvidia drivers? 191.07
-
1st thing, make life easier on yourself and use a launcher. Im using this 1 and its the best ive tried so far. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6649 Command lines are a PITA, especially if you play on mulitple servers like i do, some allow mods, some dont. If i get booted from a server for haing mods then i jsut alt-f4 disable them all and reload. Takes seconds. Your GDT addons should be inside an "Addons" folder inside of @Black folder as well. Try that and let us know.
-
Ive got same specs as you Barso and it runs great on Win7. Did have to disable hyperthreading because it made it jerky. I recommend the upgrade, make sure you use the latest nvidia drivers too, 191.07 for even more gain. Answer to your question, Yes great improvements with the upgrade from vista64!
-
Just play it without mods then, easy if you use a good launcher. Ill try connect with my sound mods on a server and if it kicks me i alt-f4 then de-select the mods and it takes seconds to reload with out mods.

what does "to our left", "to our right", etc actually MEAN ????
Nazul replied to lol4444's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Compass bearing would be so much more realistic, it takes a second to bring up compass and have a look or use the clock method but have 12oclock as aways being North?! -
Ive got new love for Arma2 after DepressionRising.
