Most air force bases in the U.S. have them AFAIK, here's an example from a reserve base in SoCal. http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab41/Darkhorse1-6/RL Photos/P1020086.jpg ^ That's what prompted me to suggest it in the first place. I haven't had much time this past week, but I'm trying to create a "living" Duala. The aim is for the player to be able to drive around and just be a spectator to the happenings on the island. So far I'm focused on setting up the drug smuggling den on that SW island. Vixena? Can't recall the name of it. I could drive (not even play) around Duala for hours. It's simply fantastic.

:D My suggestion actually. All it is is a small piece of concrete at the end of the runway, on both of the major airports. Essentially a place to park 2 fighters where they wouldn't be in the way of any landing aircraft, and where they can take off immediately after starting their engines. If I ever get off my arse I might have something to spruce the pads up a little bit...

Free demo released. PC only for the moment, as non of the developers own a Mac. The community is helping with this though. The biggest negative for me, no save system yet. It will most likely be a "save on quit" system when it is implemented, as the whole purpose of the game is you dieing. Because of issues they had with pirates leeching from their cloud servers, which was costing them money, the demo is currently only available as a torrent. (You can find atleast one non-torrent mirror in their forums though, and if that goes down and anybody here wants it I can upload it somewhere) http://projectzomboid.com/blog/index.php/2011/06/free-public-demo-released/

Merkavas and T-72s would be nice, like we have the T-90/T-72, and the T-72/T-55.

We can't let this thread die. This is the most amazing and addictive game I've played, next to ArmA. and this is just the "Pre-Alpha Tech Demo"! This is something I'd actually pay $50 for (the final version years down the road) instead of another shooter clone/CoD:9999.

It works for me. Not sure why your asking here, as those are both game development issues, nothing to do with addons, and I don't think an addon could fix either one. -

@Heroes: VME didn't release a multiplayer compatible version yet because they only released a beta, that has alot of bugs in it (or I think that's what was said). When they have and want to release a signed etc. version I'm sure they will. -

I think I heard something about HiP doing a multi-turret tank, maybe that could be applied here? As for the supporting vehicles, that's just a matter of attachto or even a variation on Norrin's fantastic cargo script. Trains are something I would love to have (as we are working on a 100x100km terrain + it's military/country etc.) just for the added logistics of having them, so I haven't given up just yet. :) If we find a usable solution I'll be sure to let you know. -

Currently looking into this as well, and so far I've come up empty. It can be done with extensive scripting, as was proved some time ago, but other than that it doesn't look good. As I am hoping for a system that can be implemented into an island, I'm exploring the option of custom track+trains that would essentially "lock" together using invisible geo-lod pieces, with a few other people. I don't know if this is even feasible, but hopefully it's both feasible and usable. -
Science Fiction ArmA 3 falls under the "Sci-Fi" category. It's set well into the future, they are using advanced technology, fictional aircraft, equipment that never made it into production etc. etc. Personally I like to look at it as an parallel universe sort of game. Events are very close to what happens in our dimension, but with small changes here and there that can lead to glaring differences. OT: I think that the "Slammer" is just the Iranian name for a captured Israeli vehicle, or even one that they started manufacturing after they captured Israeli factorys. (If they overran Israel that is.)

I didn't mean to cause a squabble :o. I asked mainly because I've been reading "The Air War: 1939-1945" by Janusz Piekalkiewicz. (Pic) Among everything else, it describes actions the Vichy French took against the allies, both from the the Allies point of view, (mostly news reports released by the British, sometimes local newspapers etc.) and from the French point of view (Atleast one description of a large raid on Gibraltar in a French pilot's own words). -

I don't really see why this is such a big issue, but I would like to point out to Lonestar that we already have 4 digit references using the GPS (check this image Robalo, it's 4 not 5.) so all the change would do is make it where the GPS and the map match.

Well, they did find a Sherman off the beach a few years ago. It had been there since the invasion, and it can be yours for the low low price of half-a-million dollars. (Non-restored. Pretty much how they found it) I hope to see pictures of various flags flying from the Eiffel tower shortly... :D (Also, it might be a bit controversial, but have you ever considered putting some french forces/aircraft etc. on OPFOR? They fought beside the Germans, and even on their own. Hell, they bombed Gibraltar several times, once with a 100 bomber formation. Then there was the British operation to sink the French navy in one go, etc. etc.) -
