    Well decided to buy the german download and installed and updated with the beta patch (so dont know what ran like without), but I love it.

    Yes there is obviously some tweaking that needs to be done but runs great looks amazing and I find the AI very capable.

    Helicopters are great to fly.. god gotta love the hind.

    I wanted to try asap as it is a game I have been looking forward to for a long time and some may accuse me of being a fan boy, but it is better shape than when arma was introduced and we all know the German version was released in a state that is below that of the 505 release. It does have its flaws but one thing we all know is, the devs are dedicated to their games and the community so I have no qualms about recommending it.

    The atmosphere in game is brilliant, love the sounds as you go clinking about, will say I have turned head bob to lowest level (but not off). The new ui touches are great, and played a few of the single player missions (spent more time patching my team mates up than firing lol) and seem very well made.

    I took a ride on a hind for a trip around the map and its amazing, love the fog you get in the valleys, the way the world has been portrayed is worth the price of the game alone, far far less sterile than Arma was.

    I have done some of the training boot camp missions also, completed some, others do need work to be done as unable to progress as scripting is not complete (team training, the squad member will not move).

    At this point after messing about with the game for 4 hours things I am not keen on or would like changed are

    1. Motion blurring, hope we can get something to tone this down a bit

    2. Radio voices from team, again as annoying as Arma ones lol.

    Apart from those above and the obvious few bugs and tweaks we know are inbound I am very very happy. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reports of the game but after trying for myself I cant wait to try the game out MP, and co-op woot.

    One thing I had to change myself was the sensitivity for my TrackIR, dropped it down a bit as it certainly seems better implemented in Arma2 it is also far more sensitive.

    Anyways, wanted to give my impressions. Hope you like as much as I do :)

    Told myself.. no wait for the 19th of June.. get english copy.. you cant read german.. no .. wait....

    Trouble is I have just started 2 weeks holidays from work... so came home and bought from petersgames lol.. 2 hrs and hopefully be done :)

    So this copy will be for messign around with game.. I will wait till either language patch comes out or 505 version before I start play proper :)

    Guys

    All I can say is wow, just finished CWC for the first time in quite a few years and it was brilliant. I havent eaten, slept or washed for a week cos of you guys lol.

    One request, I know that some missions have been merged or left out but one mission that used to do my noodle in was the one where James Gastovski (or whatever his name is lol) needs to get some item from Guba's headquarters is one of the ones missing. This is a mission I remember cos it did my nut in years ago and would like to see it now again. Any chance it will be released? I think it was called Incursion as I recall but after not sleeping for a week im a bit hazy :P

    I believe he posted in this thread he was using the standard profile but upped the speed to 1.5.

    I use the normal profile and set speed to 1 and works great for me.

    (ofc he may very well be using a user profile for now but with the latest beta software aint had to tweak much at all here)

    I sub to the mag and got mine the other day.

    It gives some basic information/impressions of guys first time to play (first on aircraft carrier then airlifted to a small town, then talks about taking a vtol out for a spin and hitting a radio mast lol)

    Gives a very quick overview of the editor also.

    It gives nothing away that is not already known but it seems the previewer (Jim Rossignol) liked it and the feeling I had was optimistic.

    Quote " I begin on the deck of a US navy carrier. Running for a Marine Corps helicopter, I clamber aboard, am thrown into third person view, and watch as the aircraft takes off, flies along a coastline and puts down on a nearby beach. Visually its impeccable."

    If I had my scanner here I would scan the shots in as well.. but dont so soz :P

    I have just completed building myself a free-track device.

    And all I can say is wow.. really does make a difference (still doesnt make me a better player but at least I die happier lol)

    Took about 5 mins to get used to and now cant imagine playing without. Hardest part I found was gunsight view, as you also have to align "your" sight to look down barrel but now its second nature and tis far easier to keep an eye out on surroundings.

    I am not great with soldering or electronics but it was simple to make and made for about 12 quid in total.. so well pleased.
