  1. Gentlemen, I have this little problem; I can't get HALO script working with ACE2. [player] exec "HALO\HALO_getout.sqs"; Now, I have changed the displayeventhandlers(can't remember how it went originally/what it was originally) to displayaddeventhandler in HALO.sqs. However, the "HALO" script did work when the player was respawned in mid-air, but thats not really what I would want. I would want the HALO script to trigger once the player uses the "Jump out" action. Ofcourse, the other solution might be to actually give players the parachutes but as far as I am concerned there is no ACE-parachutes in ACE2 yet, thus making this rather impossible solution. So, question is; Has anyone found a solution/ACE2 compatible HALO/parachute script? PROBLEM SOLVED:
  2. Yeah, and I did remove the binoculars from the officers and replace them with parachute-packs. (Well, its a night mission I'm currently doing so its rather obvious that player would prefer night-visions over binoculars.) Also, I think I should thank everyone who has bothered to spent their time replying to this thread. So big thanks, and without this helpful community, I would still be trying to figure out the magic behind the parachutes. (And I think it would be a reasonable thing for me to give you guys credits in the mission briefing. I mean, if there is no objections ofcourse.)
  3. this addWeapon "ACE_ParachutePack" (And this removeweapon "Binoculars"; for officers & squad/platoon leaders.) Durrrhurrrhurrr this is the actual solution. Okay, so, what was the problem; No-one mentioned anything about parachutepack in ACE2.
  4. Hmm, and just couple of days ago I swore I would try not to touch Domination or Evolution in ArmA2. Guess I'll just have to scratch that one then. I shall do as Ziggy said and I'll report back if it works like I wish it would.
  5. Well, if it works with ACE2 in ArmA2 I would really appreciate if you shared that script. (Basically the whole mission has gone to standstill since I can't get the HALO-stuff working with ACE2. Kinda shame though, but I guess it can't be helped until somekind of wonder happens.)

    It definately would not be "the best solution", but on the otherhand, there would be no-one to see if there was a world peace after that now would there. (Well, no humans that is.) And by zombifying, I would mean that more or less removing the competitive nature of humans, and that, pretty much would bring our technological advancement to the halt. No-one would even bother to try to get better results, no-one would even try to get more resources x than group y, and no-one would try to ensure better future for his/her children than of group e's children. (Those were just examples, you probably do understand what I mean right?) Also, by that shit hit/is going to hit the fan I meant that large groups of people tend to unite once they are all threatened somehow, and or that they have managed to deal with the problem. Kinda like during the world wars, cold war(Okay, there was conflict, but atleast most of the participants did sing kumbaya together and hoped that there would be no direct confortation.) and during some smaller "conflicts"/cases where people were forced to work together in order to ensure their survival. I would dare to even say that evolution is the very definition of competition and "conflict". Did I say I actually WANT or LIKE conflict? Well, if by your standards "World peace" was a bliss, then aren't you the one that would be saying that full blown nuclear war would be right? Also, why do you even ask if something is right or wrong, since neither does have any absolute global scientific value? Right or wrong is everyone's personal opinion. World is in conflict. It may not be a the kind of conflict that you imagine where two large armies starts to destroy each other in a armed-conflict, but the kind of where two kids in a sandbox start to argue over a single toy. The one that wins the argument/fight gets the toy. 10 years later in a pub that kid that lost the fight punches the guy that took his toy 10 years earlier, that results in a brawl where the toy-stealing-asshole gets beated up. That somehow impresses some girl that happened to nearby and the guy that lost his toy 10 years earlier gets a girlfriend and so on. (And this was the most horrible example I have ever written to be honest, but you do get the idea.) Evolution is competition, competition is conflict, conflict is part of life. Better get used to it. World peace would be a no-gravity vacuum that's temperature would be -273,15 °C.

    I voted never. In order to archieve that "world peace" more or less all humans would have to be destroyed. Okay, other alternative would be to tone down human's mental capabilities to near to zero, thus more or less "zombifying" the human species. I don't want "world peace", the moment we all sit down and sing kumbaya together something has gone wrong, or is going to go really badly wrong. Conflicts are natural. Conflicts are part of the human nature. Conflicts are part of the evolution.

    So what's preventing you from sending AI into location x and waiting for "Enemy tank at grid X" message? (Or "OH NO, 5 IS DOWN!" announcement)

Stupid question number infinitum; I am kinda having problems with [this] exec "ca\air2\halo\data\Scripts\HALO_getout.sqs" now, I don't know if this would be because ACE uses "Jump out" instead of "Eject" in aircrafts but that small script doesn't really work anymore. Any solutions? I did search but it turned out nothing usefull. (Not to mention that =BWF= Le_CuLtO's HALO script doesn't work, or atleast the " [player] exec "HALO\HALO_getout.sqs"; " solution. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here again? And I'm not even sure if this should go into Mission Editing forum?)

  13. Hmm, when I start ACE with Alpinestar's ArmA2 Launcher, I get this error; "Addon 'acex_c_men_usarmy' requires addon 'ace_c_gear'"

    Then why the hell did you even bother to ask the people that actually have the game for their opinions if you have allready decided yours BEFORE you made the damn topic? Also, maybe you should create a game-engine, and then start to make it 64bit versions with DX11 implimentation. (Also, whats even the point to bother with DX10 since it doesn't bring any significant changes whatsoever.) And I would suggest you go and buy Call of Duty since it works so well on your laptop. Not to mention that most of us find us "lucky" to be "able to play withouth problems." Another suggestion; Sell your laptop, buy Xbox 360 and go play some COD.
  18. Is someone forcing you to use all those 6 different throwing modes? Yeah, make it configurable so that I can throw grenades up to 200m withouth problems by altering few numbers in configuration file.

    Hmm, whatever, allready got the 1st Fave and it wasn't that bad. (Well, okay, the day after Krav Maga training(when the fever started) the muscle pains were so damn painfull that I had to drink myself to sleep.) But well, as long as the mortality rates of that said seasonal flu don't go over 35-50% then I won't be worried at all.

    When I was young, here in finland those names were bit different. I'll try to translate them British bulldogs -> "Kuka pelkää mustaa miestä?" -> "Who is afraid of a black man?" (No. Seriously, that how that thing translates. But thanks to the "political correctiveness" and "multiculturism", that game has been banned/the name has been banned.) Octopus tag -> Can't remember this one at all, I'm not sure if I ever played it either. I probably did. Kiss tag -> Well, we never actually played that game. Finns are just way too shy for that kind of game. Stuck in the mud -> No idea what this was called. I remember that I played it though. Cops and Robbers -> "Kirkonrotta" -> "Church-rat". I have no idea why we called it "Church-rat" though. Was kinda fun game, depending on the location. What's the time, Mr Wolf? -> I remember playing this one too, but can't remember the name again. "Hot rice" -> "Polttopallo" -> "Burnball/Burning ball" Capture the flag was really fun with large teams. Like 20 vs 20 or so.

  24. Aparently, this script doesn't work in multiplayer.
  25. Still doable. And it still doesn't change the fact that helicopters are useless against.. Well, against everything expect buildings that don't shoot back. Hell, mi24's cockpit glass is suppose to be able to take .50 cal round withouth breaking. But in arma, mi24 is rendered absolutely useless since you can take the "flying tank" down with your sidearm by killing the pilot.
