ive started my own hand to hand combat style based off....
Takko replied to BronzeEagle's topic in OFFTOPIC
This looks more like a circus than a serious fighting demonstration. They look out of place. -
Do you guys have a clue what provides better protection? The Stryker armour (version against RPGs) or Rooikat one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooikat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stryker

When can we expect an update?

Modern Takistani Army Ceekat [Stryker vs. Ceekat]
Takko posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Modern Takistani Army Ceekat The Ceekat hates the Stryker MGS. The Stryker MGS hates the Ceekat. The Ceekat is a locally built copy of the eastern ZUL Kat, which is in fact a copy of the South African Rooikat 76. The main differences in effectiveness between the Ceekat and the Rooikats are big. The newest Rooikat 105 does feature a 105 mm cannon (instead of the 76 of the Ceekat), thermal imaging, is faster (100kmh) and is better armored. The Ceekat does not feature all that and is more the quantity-Rooikat. Large numbers, lack in features. Essential features. Finally, the Takistani Army does have a similar vehicle to the Stryker now to support their ground troops. This leads to the question, who would win a direct stand off? Stryker or the 76mm cannon Ceekat? What do you think? Known issues. Updates planned: Needs expansion Operation Arrowhead -

Many thanks goes out to Mondkalb for his rvmat tutorial. First time ever (of all my addons) I am using normal- and rvmat maps, so forgive me if they don't look too good for the first time. But it does reflect the sunlight and highlights some details so I am satisfied. Changelog: Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?ravbhd77fsiyfbq -
New Warfare ATVs for Operation Arrowhead
Takko posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
ATV Package Vers. 2.0 Because of my promises, I decided to release a new version of the Gecko ATV which is a major step up overhaul compared to the older versions. Its even Operation Arrowhead compatible now. New Warfare Possibilites New Supply Lines A conceiled supply line like this is now the rule and no more the exception: Its not my fault if the enemy can't destroy your supply vehicles, since they could drive everywhere at any given time. Added Supply Vehicles For the supply line its obvious that you are in need of supply vehicles. Thats why I got the Gecko in the Refuel, Resupply and Repair version for you. The advantages are clear: Every field, every beach and even every pond (The vehicles are all terrain) can be your new supply line now. But beware: They do not carry as much stuff as the trucks, which opens new tactical possibilities: Are you going to go the silient and swift or the loud and static way, but are able, to carry more than twice as much? The "Allrounder" Especially suited for Takistan or any desert map you can imagine. Once you have used this ATV; you are going to hate roads and paved ways. Just take a break-as a civilian No need for a big truck when you got to move your load just 2 blocks away. Just load it up into the freshly added Gecko ATV Civilian and let others do the dirty work-Cause you'll have fun driving Special Operations->For everyone Get into the newly added Gecko ATV in camoflage colours- and newer leave it again. Cross any river, hill or field you like. Your tempo will be twice as much, yet you are concealed. But also enjoy the added Fixes in comparision of the previous Version: Updates planned: Still, do not expect this update at any time soon because I don't have the time for that. Needs expansion Operation Arrowhead -

Same for me. -
Right! Attached the newer pictures! Let me explain you our long development circle and why it was really one 1 year for us to bring out this vehicle addon. We had this idea in mind in January 2009. It took us 3 months, up to April 2009 to decide, wether we use the Volkwagen Golf Mk1 or Volkswagen Golf Mk2 model, since we had to think about which of the above would fit our needs most. We went for the Mk1 and then we started to model. In order to not hurt our collaboration we even split the modeling process up in 3 parts: I made the taillights, rar the .p3d file up and send it to Kalil, who would model the front lights, rars the file up and sends it to ClassicCarLover, who looked at the lights in order to assure that we kept a lot of attention to the detail. After our model was done in around Summer 2009, we had to texture it. We went for a texture, which would respresent the VW Mk1 most, while being nice at the same time. Thats why we went for a rusty one. Rusty, because the car is really old ('70s) and still with a clean finish to show that our model is still shining. So its really symbolic, which is also a feature of the texture. After that was done we went for the sound: SWT_Janowich selected the sound that would fit most, but good things take time. We had a 48 hour progress to decide, wether we would sample the sound in 44khz or 48 khz. We went for neither of the above. This job also became finished, so now we had to create the config. In order to integrate all people into the development process and leave nobody discriminatingly out, we splitted the parts like one made the CFG_vehicles and so on. Now it was the end of the summer, August 2009. Then our main man lost the file on his computer. One week ago we found it again, and that makes it 1 year of development: April 2009->July 2010. After 1 week of extensive bug testing we felt that it was ready to be released and so here it is.

Hey guys, as I said that I was going to update the TKS_Town objects, here is my update, this time with buildings from another country: Somalia. Now mapmakers have once again, more objects to choose from and options to give their map a truly unique feel next to the others with standard buildings. Includes the last TKS_Asia pack and now you have the chose from over 30 costum objects and buildings. TKS_Asia included Download http://www.mediafire.com/?v7mp4rh93ewgpmg

inserting helicopters in the mission editor?
Takko replied to floridiansr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Do you have any questions left? -
Hm, but I think it could be implemented fairly easy for the civilian vehicles. That when the damage model kicks in (with damage hide etc.) an airbag model appears at the steering wheel. Not the most important suggestion though.

WIP: Stuff you are working on 2!
Takko replied to max power's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You are working on it since 2007. But its all good! -
Hey Lao Fei Mao! Its all good an dI already do and those are a selection of the buildings included in his mods release.
-
Great mission walker, really busted the myth. I don't believe in that one. If anything, the OPFOR is overpowered since day one, with their serious AA capabilities and helicopters.
-
One thing I have noticed is that I can take more direct hits from a T55 on a M1A1 than from a T34. Is that accurate?
-
I have never heard of most of the "myths."
