  1. Thanks for that. I'll see how it goes on my single 4870 first. If I find myself GPU bound I'll sell it and grab an X2.

I should get better performance because I have an X3 720 (which unlocks a stable 4th core) that has plenty of room left for overclocking. Currently overclocked to 3.4Ghz with stock volts and stcok HSF. :)

  2. Hello chaps,

I've reviewed ArmA II over on thereticule.com. Despite the negative verdict, I shall be re-reviewing it once I get access to the online features, and more importantly, feel that the issues with bugs and optimization have been dealt with.

[couple of minor spoilers perhaps, mostly related to some of the objectives you are asked to complete. Less about the actual results of completing them.]

Why do you not have access to online features?

  3. GameStar have now posted their review and verdict of ArmA 2 (v1.01): 66%.

they criticise mainly the unfinished state of the game (bugs), the cheating and inconsistent AI and the antiquated physics. they praise the graphics, the scale and variety, the single player content (tainted by bugs, though), and the fascinating potential that the game has. they hope that additional patches will improve the game and consider a re-review if they do.

I think that is pretty fair. I know that BIS will fix all the bugs eventually, but 66% seems ok given that it does have a solid foundation and great potential but is very unpolished (although better than arma1).

    I know what I'm buying come June 19th :D

  4. I've said this before, but I think the devs got a little confused with what people are talking about as "more human".

No one was complaining about the targeting system (well, almost no one). What people had issues with was the fluidness of speach. The huge change in pitch and volume of some words would break up the sentance into what would seem "robotic". The words never really flowed nicely, and always jumped around in pitch, speed and volume. Evening those three things out, and getting nice smooth transitions between each word instead of "Target.....THAT.MAN".

Maybe it's because your native language is not english?

edit: props to BIS for actually asking for feedback though.
