    Matt, cant be signed again..Error:Stored and calculated hash dont match. Did you do it on purpose? Signature verifying servers need to repbo and redistribute it to be able to use it..i believe it is bad thing to have versions around. Or wont sign at all .Just a thought.

    Addon makers will sign and post in their threads whenever they feel comfortable about the process and their addons..If you are a server owner sign yourself and allow on your server.

    there may be some other application running background..maybe a service. Auto AV check or else. I guess related to processing and not to GFX. Happens to me if forex a background service connects to internet or use CPU like program autoupdate craps..

    Set the floating zone under controls  to 0. Or it happens when the load on your mechine or on the server or the network is a bit too much for your system. CPU+GFX card combination etc..

    no..everyone can sign anything.. if seen as cheat server removes the signatureholder's .bikey from server keys folder

    how about; a server may not want to use some other addons from Matt. So the best thing i guess would be to create multiple signatures like.. matt.bikey (universal) matt-effects.bikey matt-weapons.bikey matt signes all his addons with matt.bikey matt signs relevant addon with relevant bikey. So..matt issues 2 signatures (for his effects addon) Â signed by 1)matt.bikey and 2) matt-effect.bikey and any server who is wlling to accept anything that might come from matt would put the "matt.bikey" (bc matt would sign all his addons with this) or just puts the "matt-effects.bikey" if wants to limit to the effects only.. eventho it creates a bit more work on addon makers, i think it gives some flexibility and confidence to servers. some discussion here as well. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=68437 ..edit.. matt is an honest person swore not to sign anything else with his signatures

    KH will definitely host your signature.. without the private key i dont think it is possible for anyone to create your signature for the .pbo. The good thing is servers are responsible for keeping the most updated signatures.. If sth bad happens you can create a new private signature, resign and put most updated info to you thread and servers update themselves. PS..required addons approach is only needed is server missions include these items forex addon choppers, weapons etc..

    It's up to the servers to decide which addon/mod to allow or not. Server admin/owner can allow certain mods to be run on the server and offer signature files to their members and/or visitors (no matter if the addon maker signs it or not) Best practice is to use the universal signature and .bikey provided by the addon maker.

    It is hard to explain... I think any addon maker should sign their addon if they think will be used in MP servers at some point. Servers cant have 1000s of signatures but will have the most respected and value adding ones on.. One doesn't need to signature or anything to use a mod in SP..

    jerryhopper i think it is not a bug or duplicate..and you should not be deleting anything from the filename.. signature file has the addon name and signature key name such as ".pbo.bi.bisign" Â (included "bi" as in "bi.bikey") so if your filenames are; test.pbo mysign.bikey (public key to be distributed if you created a signature called "mysign") mysign.biprivatekey (should not be distributed) Create signature key by; dscreatekey mysign ( so u'll have "mysign.bikey" and "mysign.biprivatekey") sign the test.pbo with "mysign" by doing; dssignfile mysign.bipirvatekey test.pbo should create a file called; test.pbo.mysign.bisign you should have test.pbo.mysign.bisign (as your signature in addons folder) test.pbo (as your addon in addons folder) mysign.bikey (as your signature in keys folder) --secondly you dont need the pbo for creating signature doing "dscreatekey mysign" should be enough to create a key called "mysign.bikey"

    Applies for any addon ending with .pbo... If your addon is MP oriented and if the servers are using verifysignatures and onUnsignedData, you need to create your signature and issue the public key so that servers can put this file in their keys directory and allow the mentioned addon to operate on their servers. If it is SP oriented there won't be a need for signature... PS..-off topic- the signature check can be slow at times and can give "session lost" error but it generally happens when you dl the map and you can reconnect much easier once the map is in your temp folder...receiving map seems to create a time out when server is a bit loaded.. addon makers pls update your existing threads giving an update date info so that we know it is really you..

    If you want to change your grass parameters..get PROPER's addon..u can easily change thru a .hpp file modifiable by notepad..no need to modify original files..

    It should take the cfg file in MyDocs/Arma you can also specify a file using -cfg=xxxx.cfg in the startup parameters
  23. BIS Please release the DSSign tool as soon as you can so that we can have the signature verification on and use lovely mods like FDF, Madmatts, Truemods and all others... Or put up a poll and release BIS made keys for top 10-20 mods. Why do we have to stick to the original files to keep cheaters out.

    I tried rest of your mods HeinBloed..all are very nice.. i liked teh compass and the small aimpoint dot which blocked the enemy before. Nightvision is life saver.. a nice set of changes.. suggestions; -re the in-game GPS (ctrl+M) .. may be it should be smaller in size and zoomed out a bit..it would be perfect then.. -make them into one pack and make usable with -mod method. -post the others in the forum as well..
