  1. Sweet, can't wait* :yay: A nice surprise to see Malden rising again, would be even greater to see Everon as well, but any OFP map is a good one, either way. :D

I would reeeeeally would like to see them looking a little bit on injuries and the medical aspect of ArmA. Perhaps for another time

  2. Of course West do not need a strong Russia, it is needed as a raw material appendage.

What Russia needs to do is to cool its aggressive foreign policies which has ever so slightly lead to physical annexing of foreign soil - claimed or not, it has been foreign soil in the post-Soviet era, if not within the late-Soviet era SSR/CP administration borders. I don't mind a 'strong Russia', as you say, but rather as a economically strong and stable entity with growing living standards (like PRC), rather than some pseudo American jingoism.

  3. God almighty. Settle down, America. Blocking such services doesn't help the cause at all.

That being said, I'm not pro-Russian government, but these blockades Valve is doing are a bit silly. I don't like Putin, his government or his oligarchs for that matter. I did actually like the guy up until 2003-2004 - cause it seemed like the type of person Russia needed at the time, after what the not-so-sober Jeltsin contributed with - which by then things started to get little worrying.

  4. Say, I haven't heard much from the UN about this matter, only that they "condemn" and "worries" about the situation. But is the UN just sitting there, scratching their ass, or are there actual attempts to take action against it only to be vetoed every step of the way?

  5. So apparently two of the journalists following this convoy, from The Telegraph and The Guardian, witnessed this a few hours ago:

    Shaun Walker - @shaunwalker7

So @RolandOliphant and I just saw a column of APCs and vehicles with official Russian military plates cross border into Ukraine.

    Shaun Walker - @shaunwalker7

To clarify. APC column separate to humanitarian convoy, which has halted. Is moving V close to border. But not size of proper invasion force

    Roland Oliphant - @RolandOliphant

.@shaunwalker7 and I just witnessed a not insubstantial column of APCs and trucks slipping across the border into Ukraine.

    Roland Oliphant - @RolandOliphant

Didn't even turn off their headlights. Saw Russian military plates on support vehicles, but no markings I could make out on APCs.

Nothing new I suppose, but still..

  6. Not much truthfully. Just a mere 158 hours. A lot of problems with MP at the beginning, me playing - so far - only on casual servers (avoiding all "Wasteland"- & "Altis Life RPG"-ish missions), and with few mods that I enjoy is my excuse for having such a low number. Can't really get myself to enjoy the 2030 theme either to be quite honest. Still, if the right mods shows up one day I think I'll play a bit more.

Basically it boils down to mods and me mostly playing MP with mods. WGL, BAS, ECP, FDF, and in the last few ArmA games: ACE.

PS: I spend most of my time in the editor if I'm not playing on MP. Did most of the campaigns, but lost interest at the end. Haven't playing much SP missions aside from the campaign.

  7. I think a cold war escalation scenario is still fantastic.

Ditto, and it's for that very reason I love Operation Flashpoint: CWC/Res, World in Conflict and the Wargame-series. I prefer the 80s/early 90s due to the variety of equipment available at the time (good old refined mechanical systems vs. new age electronic systems); a rich Cold War history; a whole lot of "what if's" situations; and large changes in geopolitics, society, and economy due to - but not exclusively - the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Though anything in between the 60s till 90s is interesting to me. Not so much the Vietnam-conflict though, games have visited this way too much already.

  8. Splinter Cell Conviction.

After Chaos Theory I really thought they found their tune. I loved it. Sadly Conviction was a disaster, a real disappointment. The gameplay was ok, but everything else really dragged that game down. Specifically the odd story and the way it confusingly was told. I haven't bought a Splinter Cell since then.

Oddly enough I feel they usually given up series after a remake/revision version doesn't fall good with the old fans. Probably not true though, but Age of Empires came to mind and kinda Red Alert.

Anywho, I'm really glad I didn't Rome 2, that would have been a disaster. I had a feeling it was terrible to be quite honest. Just the look of the first gameplay video they released.

  9. Hey guys, I dont want to interrupt the discussion but I want to ask a question. Since the beginn of the conflicts in the Ukraine I never inform myself about what happening there, it was confusing who is fighting against who and for what reason.

Is here someone who could explain and sum up the fractions and the reason for this "war" in general. This would be very helpful for me and also for other people and make it easier to follow and understand the events happening there.

    kind regards!

Or in case you want a more thorough peek on what's going on. In order of date:

  10. While I think Spooky has jumped the gun, we honestly don't know who fired what, but it seems clear that this wasn't an accident due to technical issues with the plane. Someone fucked up.. big time.
