And as predicted Valve announce Steam Machines. The third announcements has to be Half-Life 3 or something similar.
-
Hehe, I was going to write something about this earlier this week - that if they were to go for an independent console, they would need an OS that would support Steam games already existing, but thinking Microsoft couldn't possibly allow Steam to become one of it's competitors on the console/livingroom market (using their OS and API) - but I thought it would be silly that Steam came up with their own OS; they couldn't possibly do that, but here we are. Question is, how is this going to operate? Will it have all the API support and programs it needs to run most if not all the games in the Steam library? Still, the future of PC, console, gaming, and the game industry just got a little bit more exiting. ;)

That's quite the number! Though more interestingly would be what their nett(o) will be after all this.

Tractor, armored tractor and a Farma mission. It's everything ArmA 3 needs to get a GOTY award. </joke> If you're referring to the list that is on the forums, I believe it was stated it might be incomplete. Either way, if there is a tractor it probably goes under the "civilian vehicles" category. EDIT: Same goes for mopeds

AH-64D Apache Longbow for ArmA2 by Nodunit and Franze

Congrats, guys. Amazing job and achievement! :notworthy: -
I'm sure it will return. I thought it looked pretty good apart from certain settings at dusk and dawn - which I'll assume was the reason it was removed in the first place.

It's probably too late to suggest this, but I really haven't had this feeling it was missing until I got to see Altis. I've been to the Mediterranean several times in my life and if I were to name one distinct ambiance that reminds of that area, and summer in general, it has to be the bird singing. For this island in particular; the swallows and sparrows. It's probably more of a sound suggestion, so please move if need be, but it relates to the island's ambiance in general. This is a sound sample of what I mean: Sound sample (freesound.org)

I'm afraid I have to agree there is a biiit too many wrecks at certain places. Still, I would be happy if they adjusted the amount a bit, but indifferent if they didn't. All in all not a big issue.

I'm sure BI can find the problem if they get the intel they need, both from their side and ours. So remember to add: Computer specs (specific as possible) - Speccy or PCWizard are good programs to get more advanced specs on display. Driver versions. Update them if that's needed (Windows, DirectX, graphic card driver, soundcard, SSD, motherboard firmware, etc.) Usage of mods (texture mods or otherwise) Additionally it might be in their interest to know this too. Use of parameters / launch options (like -nologs enabled?) ArmA 3 settings RPT file (For Windows 7 it's under C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Arma 3)

Can't say I have any unexpected FPS issues. Sure, I got bad textures after a while and it stutters (loading) a bit when I'm closing by a town, but that I expected considering my ridiculously old computer. I frankly didn't expect ArmA 3 to run at all when I first bought it. Either way, my FPS is at an average around 30 FPS on the not so densely populated areas. Haven't gone to one of the bigger places yet. Mainboard : Asus P5KC Chipset : Intel P31/P35 Processor : Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3000 MHz Physical Memory : 4096 MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM PC2-6400 (399 MHz) - [DDR2-800]) Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 (1,5GB VRAM) Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit So far I've gone from the main airport to Telos, then further towards Kalithea, Cap Zefyris, Agios Georgios, Almya, Ochrolimni, Cap Thelos, along Thelos Bay, Limni, Cap Katigidis, down Chalkeia Bay to the ruins of Aktinarki. Of course, by then I realized - for the first time in my ArmA history.. κῦδος, developers! ;)

Nice! More great sound mods. Looking forward to listening to this one as well :)

I'm not digging the orange either. Now, I know the stages (Alpha, Beta, Final) are color coded, but this doesn't match the rest of the GUI art design at all. Something more equal to the previous color scheme would fit I think. If that's not an option, it would be great to have an alternative 'editor' layout which is less vibrant and closer to the previous colors. Ha ha, and so the Dutch conspiracy begins. Leuk :biggrin_o:

Silly, but press coverage either way. ;) No that's not Call of Duty: Ghosts Kotaku.com

I got to ask, is the sound you hear when clicking on buttons broken? It seems to cut out short and make a small popping noise because of it. To tell you the truth, both the button sound or "menu selecting" sound (both attached to the 'Music' volume for some reason) is quite annoying when using the mission editor for a long period of time.

Yes, there was some mentioning of this in a dev blog a few years back. Also, you made me dig through the archive :o. And just for the sake of it they are now re-uploaded. :) Already the strategic map they have in ArmA 3 really reminded me of this 'Game 2' article. The remaining page 3, page 4, page 5 and page 6. This brings back memories :biggrin_o:
