Request: wartime photographer/videoman
cam0flage replied to xmurderx's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I want to have a mad photographer with something like five cameras, like the one in Apocalypse Now -
I was checking out the units & organization file in the screenshot directory, and one thing seemed a little suspicious: Will the FDF L2A4 have a PKT? I thought the L2A4 has 2 Rheinmetall MG3s.
-
Nice pictures in that directory! One thing came into my mind, maybe you should remove the German register sign from Leopard 2A4 and replace it with the Finnish code for armored vehicles, Ps 123-123 for example.
-
Those helicopters look great! Could we please get a list of units which will be included in this mod?
-
Thank god I only post here I haven't found any other good boards that are properly moderated.

You nitpickers
-
Don't you think the big corporations have enough power over government already?
-
Nice maps. I've never realized before how close to Leningrad/St. Petersburg these islands actually are.

This is a bit offtopic, but someone drop me a link with more information about these drugged spider experiments. Really interesting! Thank you in advance!

To be more specific, yes, it's a modification of AaronAsh's realism pack. As far as I can remember as a member of LDDK, it has some essential features such as no radar for tanks, and non-exploding SABOT ammo. There's a lot more but I'm at school now and I'm too lazy to find all the details. You can check for more here: LDD Kyllikki

I love that picture with Bush & the binoculars. Hilarious! I hope he doesn't accidentally set his sights on Europe while zooming in for Saddam. About the Illuminati all seeing eye pyramid thingy, I was checking out my old French school books, found one of those on top of the Declaration of Man & Citizen. Has it had a different meaning in the past, like swastika was a symbol for luck? Or does this dread of the tinfoil-hat people really exist?

Not to disrespect the author or anything, but I think Vit got some skills in making addons, but he could be a little more elaborate with them. I'd rather see a few 100% finished models than a lot of hastily made addons. I think people should follow the example of Maac & Marfy, they don't put out an addon that often, but when they release one, you know it's going to be a quality one. Just my 2 cents (in euros, that is ;P)

I love the work people are putting on these new islands, but I'd also like to hear from the mod team Has there been any progress lately? What's up with the F/A-18C? Anything else?
-
An airstrip would add a great deal of playability. Were there any big harbors on Suursaari? Some kind of military harbor would be good, haven't seen any of those in user made OFP islands yet.
-
Here's a suggestion, if you haven't already, then make it engage air targets too! I think the OFP BMP's get shot up too easily by choppers when they can't defend themselves.

What is you preferred file type for addons
cam0flage replied to Major Fubar's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I like zips, I open the with powerarchiver (a very good program, like hovmand mentioned before). One thing that annoys me a lot is the fact that when I open addons by right clicking the file and choosing "extract to" and select the addons directory, almost every time a pop-up comes and asks if readme.txt is to be rewritten. -

What do you think, how much would my performance improve if I got like a state of the art card with 128mb, if we think about the benchmark; closer to 3000 or even more?

Another story related to drug usage in the frontline, my grandmother worked as a nurse in a field hospital during WWII in different eastern parts of Finland, she told me when the grand scale offensive of the Russians during the summer of '44 began, they had to work all day and night taking care of the wounded. As a result, most of her colleagues (I don't know about my grandmother) resorted to the use of morphine reserved for severely injured soldiers to keep themselves awake.

Temptation island isn't militant enough?

Great! Now spend the sleepless nights and fill it with objects Are you planning to add a landing strip? The lack of such makes Kolgujev a dull island, hope you guys are smarter

A quote from DKM website: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">A little warning tho... only the more powerful pc's will be able to give the desired effect without slowing down too much, we initially set a benchmark requirement of 2500 for the dust, but removed that so ppl can see for themselves if their systems can hack it.<span id='postcolor'> What kind of machine do you need for a benchmark of 2500? I have a 1.3ghz Thunderbird with 512mb ram, and a GeForce2 MX 200, and I get the result of 1899.

I nominate Vikingo as the most helpful bug hunter of 2003 This is maybe a bit early but anyway ... AKM74, what are you planning to do after this addon?

How about a Maxim instead of DShK?
