  1. That's rather surprising to see a extremist islamist organization doing this in the UK, considered as europe's nest for Islamist extremists (where they are recruited by example) since they can do things that are not tolerated in other european countries in the name of their 'religion' (in my opinion islam and what these extremists do in the name of Allah are totally opposed).

Enforcing UK laws against this would be something really negative to them.

So that's weird to see that these extremist would "saw" the tree branch where they're sitting on (I hope you see what i mean). Never wondered why UK was not targetted before Spain for example? Considering their implication in Iraq they should have been the #2 best choice for insane extremists after the USA.

I hope to be wrong, but we'll really know who did/ordered it by seeing the implications that will result of it.

If "guilty" country is revealed to be Iran by example, no need to be a seer to make obvious conclusions.

What's despairing is that some people still have a naive point of view about human kind and still believe there's "good" or "bad" guys. Open history books, and try to find a country that not behaved like a bitch in the last 100 years.

Sad to see that once again it was just usual people that had to paid a heavy tribute for this uber shit.

    Ps: Sorry for my english

  2. I contacted the Gamespot reviewer about his article and here is his answer, explaining better why he thinks that the game is too difficult:

Quote[/b] ]Well, I apologize if you found the article disagreeable; I probably could've stated things more clearly. I don't have a problem with a game being difficult or realistic, but the problem with OFP on the Xbox is that the controls just feel really muddy at this point in the game's development. It's difficult to move around corners with precision, which

is what often winds up killing you while you're fighting in town. The problem with kills that result from lack of a tight controlset is that the kills often feel as though they come through no fault of your own; you just got killed because the controls wouldn't let you react in time to respond to the threat that was presented to you. This is more frustrating than challenging. Unfortunately console controllers just

aren't as precise or quick as a keyboard and mice, and games that come out on consoles, even ports of PC games, have to take this into account, and I'm not seeing that OFP is doing so beyond the autoaim.

That said, the game is still a few months away at least. If they can whip it into shape (and the graphics especially could use a lot of work) then it might turn out to be a decent choice for console gamers, but if you have a PC you'd probably be better off waiting for OFP 2, which looks like it'll be a lot better.

  3. Quote[/b] ]This is so damn funny.

You know, I heard rumors that OFP2 will be using the Battlefield 2 engine and that you can import cities from SimCity 2000.

    Truth or fiction? Discuss.

Nah that's wrong and not funny Hellfish, you should not joke with this!!

I've heard instead that OFP2 is in fact "Enemy In Sight", since both are from Czech teams, BI is just using the "Illusion Softworks" cover to get feedback from fresh and unbiased people and not hardcore OFP Fans.

  4. ag_smith, I agree that constructive criticism can help to change things (like when I told you about Sharp and Smooth edges hehe), but not comments meaning that addonmakers work is shitty and useless, like this one:

Quote[/b] ]C'mon who are they doing this for then? Uncompatible mod, mostly in spanish, lots of CTDs. Sorry but thats lame

They just released their pack to have some feedback and list of detailed errors pointed out, it's not a fully playable mod yet as they clearly stated it... Their team is not really big and they need public betatesting.

In my opinion having such a behaviour is a shame for a community. Instead of just bitching and throwing shit like some are doing some others are trying to help, like Denorc, which as a result is far more constructive and will help to see a fully playable mod.

Quote[/b] ]I can't play this mod if I can't play 3rd party addons. I.e. I want to use addons like Land Rovers or USA planes forced to land on Falklands, or maybe some more modern soldiers from other mods and guess what? I cant because of this moronish attitude toward sides!!

What's the point of mixing addons with completely different configs files, uneven damage and armor values...? To see again a Sherman destroying 5 Jagpanther as we already saw, because addonmakers didn't use same config values? I don't see the point in it...

  5. Quote[/b] ] i won't post more pics. the shilka is not 100% done yet and if it looks crappy that's because the pic is not edited.

You call that crappy?? It looks great!

And edited pics just hide the reality, it's more honest to post unedited pics, it's how the addon really looks like ingame!

  6. Maybe IceFire was just joking and trolling... How many addonmakers started with simple and basic models of an under average quality and were working out of a mod team...?Now they are creating truly amazing things because they trained and learned thanks to O2 public release...

However I think an addon can really "live" only if it is included in a mod, like FDF did for MTLB, SZU23-2, for example.

  7. Quote[/b] ]I was talking about the ADDONS section, not NEWS. And the really funny thing is that the descriptions in the german addons section are in english (!), so there is absolutely no point in keeping the addon databases seperate.

You were looking for islands in the "addons" search, and islands are not referenced into addons, but we'll fix it, thanks for the heads up.

About the conception mistakes on the site we're aware of it, you must understand that the first version of ofp.info was a simple hand-updated html page only in Czech then in php, then with several languages sections (and now php/mysql) so we're still trailing several problems and mistakes of the past. But if you're an php/mysql expert and you have a lot of free time we'd be happy if you'd offer your services. ;)

Quote[/b] ]BAS, a very good example for what I mean. I can understand if they don't want to pay for addon hosting, and I can understand if they don't want to invest any more time. But come on: why did they have to give away the domain, if it would have cost them 3 bucks a month to keep it and put simple links to the forum topics where you can find their addons? It's just sad that so much good stuff gets buried under thousands of post in this forum when it would be so easy to make it accessible.

I proposed twice to Tigershark from BAS to host their old site and addons so as people can download their ressources like before, but he never replied.

  8. Quote[/b] ]Where can i dl this mod? i dl it from Operation Flashpoint CZ and the BAS_o.pbo and opfor (or sth).pbo r broken!

need working *.zips! or atleast BAS_o.pbo and BAS_OPFOR.pbo!

Try to get a newer version of Winrar or an updated version of your archiver program.
