    173rd Airborne Brigade ACU Units

@wld427: Thank you for the clarification it makes a little sense. I was USAF 2001-005 Security Forces, we had the PSGT helmet BDU and DCU helmet covers as well back then. Now I'm in the ARNG and I see a few troops in my unit that still have the PSGT. I know AD Army gets first priority and reservist and guardsman get first priority when activated, while m-day troops not activated just make due with the old stuff. @Binkowski wow DCU troops too when you get the chance like you said. If you need references for DCU troops with MICH/ACH and PSGT helmets let me know pm or email wise.

    173rd Airborne Brigade ACU Units

BIS did mess up on that part, even though the BIS default US soldiers are way off when it comes to the helmet and gear, if the default BLUEFOR soldiers are suppose to depict US Army soldiers. I mean come on ACU covered PASGT helmet ACU uniform and CAMO vest?(Maybe transitioning times for a Reserve or Guard unit). In reality during the early part of OIF 2003-04 troops wore DCU covered PASGT kevlar helmets along with the DCU uniform and of course the camo vest, when the war progressed around 2nd quarter of 2005 the US Army began phasing out the PASGT with the MICH/ACH helmet as seen in this pic and they still wore the DCU all around, but notice the DCU vest: http://www.mdva.state.mn.us/VetsSummit/images/baghdadphoto.jpg <---Early OIF http://www.arcent.army.mil/cflcc_t....g <---Mid OIF http://www.arcent.army.mil/cflcc_t....g <---Mid OIF http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped....dad.jpg <---Modern Day OIF couch, cough 2ID cool stryker in the background( I thought someone was working on a slat stryker...) http://www.operation-helmet.org/helmets.html#ACH Sorry guys I kind of gotten carried away. From 2006 to present yes ACU's replaced the DCU's and the ACU helmet covered MICH/ACH's are all in use now...Hope this helps...

    173rd Airborne Brigade ACU Units

Well anyways man great job on the 173rd Airborne patch. Its cool to have more US Army units... More variety equals more immersion: Active Duty Divisions: 82nd Airborne ID, 2nd ID, 3rd ID Mech, 4th ID, 25th ID, 1st Armor Div, 101 Air Assault ID, 1st Cav Div, 10th Mountain Div (Light Infantry). @villas: Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) is based on the MICH design and provides an improved helmet to soldiers, replacing the older PASGT(Kevlar). It provides increased 9mm bullet protection. Comes with pad suspension system and the four-point chinstrap. Primary users: Army. Lightweight Helmet (LWH)was developed for the US Marines to replace the PASGT(Kevlar). Looks very similar to the PASGT, but has a four-point chinstrap built-in and is about 6 ounces lighter. Originally it had a web suspension system and being upgraded to padded suspension. Primary users: Marines and Navy FMF.

Any plans on the T1000 and Human Resistance Troops as depicted in Terminator 1? You know the scene where a infiltrator terminator came in blasting every human in sight after the dog starting barking?

Thank you guys for your hard work. Â I am a VBS2 owner and I enjoy the fruits of your labor. Â BTW whats the name of the desert looking Palidan 155mm self propelled cannon. Â I can't find it in the GB section of VBS2.
  7. Yeah looking forward to them especially the 3 Para Desert DPM Troops. Though the DPM troops pictures above are very awesome for Europe Urban Warfare. PM me if you need help with the 3 Para Helmets(camo netting). I have a 4 day weekend coming up and I will probably be able to do them after Thanks Giving Day. (You know alot of turkey and a NFL game to watch).
  8. Hello everyone with the permission of STALKERGB I introduce to you some screenshots of the Royal Marines Commando. These guys are based on th early years of Operation Herrick British name for the American named Operation Enduring Freedom. When I say early years I mean British ops such as Operation Jacana and Operation Ptarmigan. Sorry the units are unreleased at the moment (not for long though). Enjoy http://img108.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vbs22008080720385031hz5.png http://img382.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vbs22008080720370753le7.png http://img515.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vbs22008080720371585iv2.png

    ArmA 2 vs OFP 2

What different country forces are involved in both Arma II and OFP2? Also where do the campaigns take place?
  10. Thanks for this beta. Any chance of seeing US Army 29th, 1st, and 4th Infantry divisions with camo netting/non camo netting combo? Also the British troops and 101st Airborne needs some retexturing as well. Other than that I understand this is a beta, but keep up the good work. Now for the 101st Airborne great references would be the films like Saving Private Ryan(101st, 29th, 2nd Ranger Battalion. Also Band of Brothers for 101st as well. If you need help please pm me and I can see if I can have a buddy of mine retexture/model the above named units.

I really agree with what your saying. Besides we are a community forum(that has a love for Arma). A pic here and there will keep the community interested. If it wasn't for us asking questions....Man this forum would be dead.... As far as modders/programmers talk about we have lives...That is really f@%king rude!!! Excuse my language but most of you know what I am talking about. Can we all just be one instead of divide and conquer with arrogance!!! That is my opinion.

    Royal Marine Commandos

Alright fellas let me clear things up. The Royal Marine unit addons are supposed to depict the old style and new style of Royal Marines Commando. The desert/temperate mix is supposed to depict the Royal Marines Commando in CBA armor. They wore this mix in the mountain missions in Afghanistan during the OEF/Operation Herrick ops in 2001-2002 time frame. Now the RMC troops you see in all desert dpm wear with Osprey armor are supposed to depict the modern day Royal Marines Commando serving today in desert environments such as Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes they do wear the Osprey armor also the British Army does as well. Please read this as far as Osprey Armor is concerned: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osprey_body_armour Afghanistan modern 2007 Helmand Province ops: http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0ep5fxL2EpdD4/610x.jpg http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerse....320.jpg http://img.thesun.co.uk/multime....31a.jpg Afghanistan early part of the war 2001/2002: http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1935000/images/_1937020_mountains300.jpg http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1940000/images/_1941370_marinepa300.jpg I hope this solves the dispute. But I know you guys are enjoying these troops. All we need is a cool Afghanistan map for Arma. PS:Just do your Royal Marines Commando research on Google search, either search Google Web or Google images. Thats how we did it. Who knows we may make British Army Paras too. Oh yeah I don't know if I brought this to your attention, but STALKERGB has redone the British Army 4 Rifles Infantry they look much better you can find them here in post#33: http://forum.armedassault.info/index.p....ry50324 I hope we didn't spoil you fellas.

    Royal Marine Commandos

Well if you can provide reference pics of British troops from the 80's era. I am sure he can make them. At the moment he is making USMC Vietnam era troops. They are going to look like the USMC troops of the 1968 Battle for Hue. If you seen the movie "Full Metal Jacket", well thats what they are going to look like. Also he has re done the British Army 4 Rifles. One set in all desert dpm and another set in all green dpm. They should be posted at armedassault info. You can find them here: http://forum.armedassault.info/index.p....ry50324 post#33=British Army Infantry post#34=Royal Marines Commando
