There will definately be unique models for SFs, seeing as how there are already unique models for anti-tank soldiers, snipers, machinegunners, and pilots...perhaps more information will be seen regarding that soon

I'm pretty sure that video you're talking about actually was a gopher or other rodent that was hit with a 50cal, which would explain why the corpse flew so high...the video wasn't very clear but i'm pretty sure it isn't a human.

I believe that there is a distinct model for the automatic rifle man, with seperate pouches and googles, but that's the only variation of the standard soldier model that i have seen so far. a pic: auto rifleman

I rented this movie a few weeks back and it was really good. The battle scenes and the scenes of refugees fleeing the fighting are very dramatic and effectively convey the Korean war. There's lots of hand to hand fighting, and they show quite a few atrocities ( North Koreans killing peasants, South Koreans killing prisoners). The characters and the plot do seem a bit overdramatic in some parts, and sometimes it is a bit hard to believe the emotional stances the two brothers take. Also, so much people die in the movie that you feel no empathy except towards the brothers. Still a movie that's worth a watch, especially if you're interested in the Korean War.

Actually I think that the NVA campaign ( if there is going to be one) should take place from 1971-1975, when the US were already beginning to demobilize and the NVA were able to start fighting in the open against the US and the ARVN. There can be missions involving fighting over places like Lam Son 719, Quang Tri, and Saigon, and in Cambodia and Laos against the ARVN and american SF. The late war fighting actually allows for lots of armour to be used and would be easier to do rather than always fighting in a jungle. Also, the campaign can be more realistic since a NVA soldier would be more likely to survive late-war battles where the chances of survival were more likely against the weaker ARVN, in contrast to one sided battles like Khe Sahn or the Tet offensive.

Its pretty impratical and unwise for China to directly invade the U.S for political and economic reasons unless it is truly desperate due to some event in the future. However, theyre steadily modernising their military so that they can use brute force soviet tactics with western techology. China invading Taiwan on the other hand, could be possible as this article explains. Although the plan is a best case scenario for China, it does raise many good points about why such airborne invasion could succeed.

There are two packs actually: one is of remodeled and retextured BIS units with new weapons for east, west, and resistance; the second pack is of several new vehicles such as buses, vans, and civilian cars. Also,It'd be nice if someone made a new 1985 era OFP config with these units

It is very tragic that the hostage situation had to end like this, but it seems that you could blame both sides for the result: You could blame the chechens for perpatrating these attacks and killing innocents, but you could blame the Russians for their lack of restraint in dealing with the Chechens and corruption that leads to attacks deep in Russia . Also, the Russian government must revamp their hostage rescue tactics. In all the mass hostage situations they've been involved in, hundreds of people (mostly civilians) have died because the Security forces haven't planned their operations properly and botched up the rescue attempt. To be fair, most of these situations have involved well trained and fanatical terrorists and hundreds of hostages in a short amount of time, but the Russians could still try to adapt and learn something from their previous failures. i saw a few pictures of Russian military using pickup trucks like a Dodge Ram, but i didn't think they would use something that old as a GPW. but now that i think of it, i kinda wonder why car companies haven't gotten into the military market. especially Ford. their pickups are pretty well built w/ their sturdy frames and suspension. im sure a modified F350 crew cab would make a much more economical choice than the HMMWV, just weld a heavy bed and bumber on the back to counter the weight in the front of the truck and it would still be more fuel efficient. car companies would make a hefty profit for countries that have small military budgets. The Russian military doesn't use western pickup trucks, so i believe that those Dodge Rams are actually used by the Georgians, who receive American assistance. On the subject of pickups being used by militaries, The manufacturers have shown military versions of the F150 and Silverado, and I think that the US military uses older model GM trucks mainly for transport in the rear areas. Many small militaries use civilian pickups (mainly Toyota or Nissan) to move their troops around.
