Dearest forum moderation team, I was recently updating my avatar when I stumbled upon something that I found totally outrageous: an avatar entitled uploaded_croc. I am afraid that I will get banned for posting the gruesome image on this forum because it is just so awful. You make it sound like we (Americans) can just walk down the street into a gun store to buy rocket launcher on a whim or something... To have these things legally you need to have special licenses which require extensive background checks... in a lot of states these licenses are not even available in this post 9/11 world... People who have these licenses/weapons are required to operate and store them with the utmost care otherwise the feds will end up taking them away. All of the people I know personally who have these kind of weapons take great care in protecting them from anyone who may wish to commit crimes with them... As for why we have them? Not sure exactly why, but I think that we humans have had a passion for weaponry since the dawn of time...

There's no doubt in my mind that as long as there are sick people in the world who cannot deal with their own issues without resorting to violence, the 'phenomenon' of school shootings will continue... along with all the other kinds of shootings, stabbings, and what have you that occur on a daily basis around the world... One has to ask themselves that if there was one responsible adult, a teacher perhaps, who was armed with a handgun (concealed, for self defense), could some have the bloodshed have been avoided? Also, is it just me or does it sound as though the campus police/local officials not focus enough on catching the guy who they thought had fled?

There is no doubt in my mind that there would have been, as the story progressed, a discussion behind the shooter's motives and such would have ensued and made for a generally interesting conversation... agreed, it does seem odd to have closed that thread - it's a topic I know I was greatly interested in debating. We all know where the topic will likely to degenerate too, but usually the first 10 pages can contain some interesting and useful discussions, till the usual suspects come and ruin it. In addition, in the first 3 pages of off topic, I can flag 20 or so topics that deserve less bandwidth than a penis enlargement advert, but were allowed to remain open. Yeah, bad decision. A moderator has to do it and it won't be something you want. I got my random ass title because I replied to a question in the Ask A Mod thread with a totally competent answer. Give it a few weeks and you'll probably be given moderator privileges anyway, at which point you'll be able to do it yourself (seems as though they're letting any random person [ie: W0lle and whoever else has been given mod-privs in the last 20 or so minutes] be a moderator these days and you seem like a prime candidate).

We're actually in full production but we don't want to show any more screenshots until the mod is released. We are planning to release the mod around the same time Invasion 1944 is released.

it's not like people on this forum care enough to actually check links or download addons before they make their post count +1 anyway.

From the brief experiences I've had with ACU in reality (which is relatively few, thank god) it is accurately represented in the game. It is truly some ugly camouflage (if there is such a thing as "ugly camo").
