I don't think he has a "pack" but classnames would be easy enough. Stuck home with covid so I might be able to fetch a few.

Nice Gunter, there needs to be more aircraft missions. Was there any thought towards adding in any of Firewill's planes as well? Also, agreed on the reduced haze mod. It is 100% a must have for these missions! I've also used https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1439605692 for auto pilot in the past, not sure if it's still working though but it was really useful.

How to apply texture on a furniture ?
beno_83au replied to Arthur Retonie's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS - CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
You'd probably have to make a new one. I don't know how to do models, so I don't know what they'd need but I assume it would be something more than just a simple config replacement. -

They need this to be able to take setTextureObject commands afaik. So without any hidden selections, there's no chance of setting their texture. -
Well, we're here again i guess..... Honestly since the game came out, since the prehistoric OFP came out back over 20 years ago, I cannot remember a time when I've accidentally ejected myself from a vehicle due to "female programming", or the male variant for that matter. Surely it's happened to me at least once, and I can think of twice when another mate has done it. But in all these years it's never been an issue. Not even my young kids have done it (nor my wife and she got a kill on an Exile server once by shooting at someone from a helo skid 😄). As the old saying goes, user error. Look inwards before you look outwards.

setAirplaneThrottle on non-player aircraft?
beno_83au replied to ErisMCM's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I've done it before with unitPlay. Try turning the engines on first: _plane engineOn true; _plane setAirplaneThrottle 0.3; -
TELEPORT ACROSS BRIDGES
beno_83au replied to csepi0101's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Yeah sounds like it. I guess something like a repeating trigger for ANYBODY using: { (vehicle _x) setPos [6447,4788,0]; } forEach thisList; Prone to disaster though without accounting for things being tele'ed on top of other things. Things could get stratospheric very quickly 🤣 Also @csepi0101 you should look through https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Arma_3:_Scripting_Commands at the commands you are using so you can understand them better. -
Could be a mod that hasn't configured the editor preview. Otherwise if it's happening without mods then try verifying your game files through Steam.
-
Yeah, in the triggers On Activation field just use: _object setPos _postion; Where: _object - the object you're moving _position - where you want to move it to So it'd look something like: object1 setPos [1234,5678]; https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setPos There's various other commands to set an object's position, just search "setPos" here for them if you need something different or just want to see what can be done.

The only problem I've ever had with TrackIR when playing Arma (plus a couple other games) has been having too much sunlight behind me reflecting off the blinds and messing with the tracking. Same results as you're having, but unless you've changed your setup's location then this might not help much I'm afraid.

I doubt this is productive though.

Probably because (good) map making is tedious. There's also these points mentioned by the OP: -
Prevent taking containers from dead
beno_83au replied to saddle's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
This might be easiest done with something like PUBG, where all items are created in some kind of container next to the dead person. Then just prevent players from being able access bodies. Maybe disableSimulation would work on them, I'm not sure but I'd imagine so.- 1 reply

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
beno_83au replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
There's a few mods that do a 3rd person view. Some have limitations, some don't allow you to shift your view from one side to the other, but here's a few you might be able to experiment with: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1284600102 (no native support for left-side) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1551751531 (has limitations with using action menu and inventories apparently) https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/141101-deadfasts-third-person-view-for-arma-3/ (last page for a link) -
You should try making dozens of your own very large maps and editting a bunch of them at the same time. Should be pretty easy to populate them with the thousands of objects required while still keeping them playable with view distances much larger than all of Altis. I guess it's comments like these that form part of the reason for Snake Man to avoid the workshop.

I think that with FPS games in general, trying to add a difficulty to hitting a target you're aiming at correctly could cause some annoyance. Like, there's fatigue/weight/environment/etc that can be used to cause a difficulty to aiming at the target and keeping it steady, and that's annoying but it's something you can try to deal with. Now, I can't speak on Insurgency, but I have played a little bit of VR FPS and yeah, it was fun. I've always been well aware of how easy it is to aim in regular keyboard+mouse gaming, just like you said. There's so much that goes into achieving a stable firing platform and the training and muscle memory that goes into it in reality, and to be honest, I'm not sure how replicating that in a 2D, K+M environment can be made fun or entertaining, or even how you could go about replicating it without some arbitrarily enforced inaccuracy. I've even found round dispersion a little annoying, as well as things like simulating weapon stoppages. But again, in VR I liked being able/required to perform the correct drills to clear stoppages. So that's my thoughts on it anyway, and it's a pretty subjective topic I think. I know there'd be people out there with a different idea of what they'd enjoy seeing. Honestly though, it's not an easy thing to achieve in a 2D environment, but with VR I think it would just naturally become another aspect to becoming good at FPS gaming.

When I say "mod" I'm just speaking in general terms. But that's how Mariupol shows up in the launcher. However, I edited the .cpp for Mariupol and moved the line name = "PMC Ukraine Mariupol v0.3"; to the first line and the name showed up correctly in the launcher. I moved it back down again just to be sure and was showing up as PMC Home again. I guess the order of name and actionName matters.
-
There is also this command if that helps, depending on your use I guess: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/diag_fps
-
I downloaded Mariupol today, started at 0 seeds but somewhere after 10% I picked up 1 with a good connection. Might just need to stick with it for a bit.
-
I like the thicker forests and tree lines you've got going @Snake Man, compared with some of the more spread out forest from your other terrains. Few oddities with some of the water inland of Mariupol itself but I know it's still a WIP so I'll leave it alone. There was one thing though I wanted to bring up though. In the ArmA launcher, the mod is listed as PMC Home, which is what you have in your mod.cpp: actionName = "PMC Home"; Good effort though, as usual. These big terrains make for some good variety for large maps.

I feel like I'm missing something here but I can't drag any units from the Entities list on the left side of the 3den editor into the camera's view any more. When I try it the cursor seems to lose the unit when I try to drag it outside of the list. Tried it without mods after just noticing it (thought it might've been 3den Enhanced), but it's been a while since I've tried to do much editing so I'm not sure when it might've started. Have I changed a random setting somewhere or is this a bug?

cytech underground terrain Cytech Industries
beno_83au replied to Cytech Industries's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
[Official] Cytech Industries Showcase Mission by TropicalOasis. It's the first mission listed in the link you posted. Like I said I can still subscribe to it, but clicking on it to go to the mission's page in Steam gives me that permission error. Honestly though, I was just able to access it from my phone, so maybe my PC was just not cooperating yesterday. Edit: It's not private now, all's good.
