I do not ask to build another KA-50 simulator based on ArmA2, only some changes, that will make our beloved game a bit more realistic. Required delay do not need any animation at all - only black screen or external view for a few seconds. Otherwise good tank driver may be a devil on ArmA battlefield, that's cool for MP, but where is realism? -

Could you please tell me, why high-end trooper military simulator should be mixed up with arcade "battle tanks"? ARMA2 is not tank simulator, but existing simplifications should be modified. Yes, MP game should be dynamic, but there are a lot of other ways to reach this target. Stupid life bar and jumping crewman completely fit for a Dendy game, but not for a 21st century military SIM. -

need to tell you one secret, but tsss) game do this constantly - you run, and grass appears in front of you. so, distant grass won't take so much resources, as you think.

grass may be rendered ONLY in "scope" view within some interval. sorry, but i can't see any problem in this action.

m0nkm0nk, you are right. Sure, it looks much better now, but contrast is too high between soldier and ground level. I'm not gonna say, that I'm not satisfied, but it seems to me, that distant grass may be improved.

i would like BIS to be closer to ARMA community. developers blog exists, but messages appear their very very rarely. is that too hard to find 10 minutes once a day/week to write "we are doing bla-bla-bla, you may expect it bla-bla-bla, so everything is ok"? -

you know, BIS doing great things, but mentioned "things" always have a lot of bugs) looks like new beta had serious problems, which were missed by QA team (but sometimes i'm not sure, that there exists this one=)) -
Hi there. I understand, that BIS has a lot of things to do, they are working hard and so on. But it would be great, if they condescend to speak with us, ArmA community. No any news since beta patch 59323 released (well, and alpha linux server, of course). People want a dialog)

in the mentioned article it is said about common problems with memory allocation process in windows. first of all, the author asks himself, why server x86 versions of windows can manage more, than 4GB of RAM, while "home" versions has ~3.2GB limit, or sometimes less, depending on current hardware. so, the author supposes, that there exists some artificial barrier, which may be overcome. next, the author says a few words about windows RAM addressing "blackbox" mechanism. as a result, we can see, that x86 operating systems can "see" and "touch" such "unmanaged" partitions of RAM through special API, built in OS. in the end of the article, the author speaks about RamDisk Plus application, which helps to get control over all installed RAM even if user has x86 OS. though RamDisk Plus is very useful, it has several unpleasant bugs. the author had problems with allocating new partitions on physical drive, illegal number of memory pages reported through RamDisk Plus and got his bootsector being corrupted (BUT this situation took place only once). hope these bugs will be fixed in future versions of RamDisk Plus. well, thats all, thank you)

For such cases, as x86 OS and more than ~3,2 GB of RAM, there exists RamDisk Plus application. It creates a ramdisk in unused part of RAM (in your case there will be approximately 800 MB). This ramdisk may be used for storing your pagefile, for example. This will lead to increasing performance while pagefile operations.

Looks like a hardware problem with graphics card onboard memory. Please inform us, how your NV260 works in other games. Also you can use FurMark for testing purposes.

Well, I had the same problem on my MB ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP with ADI AD1988B audio codec. I just shut down hardware acceleration in ArmA audio settings, and such freezes disappeared. BUT 5.1 sound also became 2.1 Making a long story short, mentioned audio codec works a bit "strange", but only in ArmA. Hope this will help
